After starting off on a bad foot this morning, we both decided to just spend a bit on lunch to feel better, and Strombelli's Pizza REALLY hit the spot for us. While their price got even a Medium California Style Pizza feels a high at first, for us, it was still worth the value. The dough was nice, hot, and fresh as advertised too, the staff was also great, and the local interior of the dinner felt so local to our area. We tried Strobelli's a couple of times and after trying 3 pizzas and 2 salads I have to say this place is expensive for thin crust that leaves you hungry. One of the pizzas was Chicago Style and that crust wasn't right either. Tried pairing with a salad and the toppings were finely chopped basic pizza toppings. The ingredients are very fresh and we really like their hot sandwiches. Their employee Ryan is our favorite and we only come when he is working. The kid makes a great pizza and is very personable. I've been going to Strobelli's Pizza for years. I really like their pizza but lately things have changed for the worse. I understand the economy sucks right now, but to charge more AND have so little toppings on the pizza is a huge disappointment. I ordered the Chicago style pizza and it was Hardly deep dish. Hardly any toppings were on the extra large pizza. I had paid well over $75 for the pizza including tip and delivery. IF you're going to charge more to compensate, then give us the same amount of toppings. I definitely felt like I didn't get my money's worth. My friends and I visit every pizza place in Sacramento in search of who has the best pizza around. We decided to visit Strobelli's which turned out to be a fairly pleasant experience. We always make sure to give an honest review despite what reviews of places are on Yelp. We checked Strobelli's yelp page and found in many pictures, there was a man with a cowboy hat in them. We joked around about how maybe we'll see him when we go in and to my excitement, the cowboy hat guy was at the bar with some guests. That isn't really part of the review but that was definitely a highlight for me personally. I'm pretty sure he's the owner but I'm not entirely sure. Something I've come to realize is bars have fairly good pizza. It's usually a decent price, but it's great flavor and quality. Strobelli's is no different. We always order a standard large pepperoni to keep everything uniform with the other pizza places. The size of the pizza was a relatively good size. They were definitely generous with the pepperonis which is always appreciated. They are also generous with the amount of cheese and sauce you get. The sauce had a great flavor, and the pizza had some grease on it, but had the right amount on it. Overall, the taste was great. We don't have any negatives about the pizza itself. However, price is a little rough. It was 28$ not including tip. When we go to these pizza places we have a rating out of 10. A 5/10 means it is average and anything below is worse, anything above is better. When it comes to taste, Strobelli's was one we rated 10/10. We had nothing negative to say about the pizza. We rated the Price a 7/10. It's a little higher than a lot of pizza places, but for the actual quality you're getting, it's somewhat reasonable. After factoring in a lot of different qualities we looked for, we give Strobelli's an overall 8.75/10. It's a very nice small family business which exceptional flavoring. If you can justify the price you're spending, then it is 100% a must try. We look forward to our return. read more

Have tried them twice and they're ok. Pizza is a good middle of the road pizza. Had their Greek salad which was fresh and nice. Tasted like the dressing was Krafts Zesty Italian. We have ordered pizza from Strobelli's off and on over the years not as frequently as we should but the pizza has always been very good. So we ordered pizza last night and chicken tenders it was delivered in the normal time fresh and hot. But after bringing both boxes back into the house I kept smelling something burnt. I open the box of the chicken tenders and discovered they were burnt. We called them to let them know that the chicken tenders were burnt. The girl that answered the phone and explained that they always come that way because they're fresh and they have to cook them three times and that's why they're burnt. No offer of a refund no offer of a do over. just thats how we make them deal with it. Well I may eventually order another pizza from them I will never ever get the chicken tenders which is what I really wanted. So maybe enjoy their pizza but unless you want burn chicken don't get the chicken tenders. I've eaten here a few times and the pizza is good. The thing I would say they need to improve on is transparency of their prices. For instance, their official website menu does not make clear that toppings for a "build your own" pizza are charged per topping, it only shows prices for sizes. Currently, they charge $2.60 per topping, which is astronomical considering the flat rate for the pizza itself. In addition, I called back to question the price after ordering because it seemed too expensive for a 14". The employee takes a long pause and asks me where I looked up their menu and prices at. WE ordered for delivery and was quoted 30-90 minutes and they were definitely there within 30 minutes I love the promptness We ordered a large pizza 1/2 extra cheese the other 1/2 was pepperoni with white sauce, California style. I love that the herbs were baked into the crust as there was so much flavor in each bite. It was warm but not too hot We also ordered the wings; I have to say I was a little disappointed- the appeared to be breaded chicken wings yes but salty and otherwise flavorless. I live at the other end of Madison and have no problem driving 25 min to get this pizza. They even have a little bar you can chill at if you want to have a drink.
