This local business have been here since 1960 folks and they are still around!! If you don't have a good product you can't win. Pizza at Pizza by Alex is a great pizza!! You have to try it for yourself to understand all the five stars ratings reviews. Their pizza dough is light, a little crisp, not soggy and just the right thickness. Hands down the best pizza in town. Inside tip ask for the old oven, it's been used so much that it adds a special layer of flavor you can't get from the newer style ovens. The staff are always friendly! It's also family friendly and handicap accessible. read more

Came to this place out of recommendation. And it's was absolutely delicious. Came to Maine for a graduation further up north past auburn. It truly is a little gem packed away in Biddeford. Being from New York I know pizza and Alex's pizza is most absolutely on pare with our pies. So much flavor and crisp it's was a delight. Only reason the 3 stars and not 4... On our way back to New York we drove out of the way just for this famous pizza. While waiting for our pizzas to cook my six year old asked where the bathroom was we were told no bathrooms for the public anymore. Okay no biggie, we walked to the gas station across the street. They didn't have a bathroom at all. Okay walked to the one next to that. Their bathroom was actually broken. Okay.... guess my daughter will pee behind the building in the alley next to a box truck. So my husband is from Biddeford, and he absolutely insisted on getting some Alex Pizza the first time I came to visit. And boy am I god he did, because their pizza is amazing. All of their pizzas come in one size which is a perfect portion for one person. I do have to say that the price is a little high, but I 100% support that the taste is worth it. I've lived in Biddeford my whole life. That would be 56 years and I have never had a bad experience with Alex Pizza until now. Not sure what is going on with that place but the last two times I've ordered lightly done they were not likely done. So this time I went in to let them know and to get a refund ( which usually they let you keep the Pizza) this guy acted like I was trying to steal from him and was extremely rude. I felt I needed to try this place given the hype before I left Maine. I certainly will admit, it was better than I imagined. But still, it wasn't great. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the crust very much. But the sauce and cheese were not very flavorful compared to other pizza joints in the area (flatbread, ottos, even portland pie). I had the mushroom and my partner had sausage. Hers was more greasy than mine. Also, if you walk in there, it's not readily apparent where to order. So we waited in what turned out to be the take out order until we got to the front, only to learn the line to order was next to it (and now had another line to wait in). Overall, this is prob a good place to call ahead and pick up a personal pizza when you're too lazy to drive to Portland and get better pizza, or if you want a crunchier crust than Portland pie. read more

I think I've tried all the pizza places in Biddeford-Saco and Pizza By Alex is better than most. I like the crust, the quantity of the toppings, and the taste. But it's really salty, the pepperoni is really tiny, there's no box to put it in when you're taking it home, and it's more expensive than most of the others. The pizza is above average and one of the best, I'll give Alex 4 stars for that. But I was not as overwhelmed as many of the other reviewers. read more

They only offer personal pans, snugly fit into paper plates, but the pizza packs some serious flavor. I ordered a hamburg and pepperoni and no one ingredient outweighed the other, it was a fantastic balanced pizza. I even proposed to it but then remembered marrying pizzas isn't legal in Maine (or in any of the 50 states). My whole group was in consensus that the pizza easily beat any meals we had that week (Sorry Papa Johns, gallon of Kraft mac and cheese, Koi restaurant, and Chef Boyardee). Just remember to bring cash, they still have an old school style cash register! With a name like "Pizza by Alex", it could have been a literary masterpiece, or a contemporary piece of art, but I'm sure glad it's a pizza joint. I love Pizza by Alex. I always have and even after moving out of the area almost 10 years ago it is a necessity to stop by when I am home and grab a pizza. They have pizza and soda. Do not go looking for salad's or sandwiches. The menu may be limited but they know what they are doing when it comes to the personal size pizza. The crust is thin, crunchy, cheesy with just enough grease to make it really delicious. The sauce is salty and tasty and they always seem to have the perfect amount on the pizza. The cheese is plentiful and delicious. As for toppings I have tried almost everything here. I prefer the pineapple it is just so tasty. I used to go here almost every Friday in high school after different sporting events so it can get busy. Prices have also gone up considerably since those days but the pizza has not changed.
