A hidde gem on fraser st for sure. Saw picts in IG and decided to give it a try. The pizza here is made differently no stone brick oven here for sure. Just a regular oven. A true neighborhood joint that you will go to on a regular basis. However, i must say they have the thinnest and sturdiest crust i have ever seen and experienced. It was able to hold up the toppings without compromising the integrity of the slice We tried the Serrano pizza and the capaccolo and smoked ham. The Serrano had a white sauce base and sprinkled with roasted pistachios. Both pizzas were great. Nice quality toppings, thin crust, and nice crunch. However, im sure it wont hurt to put more toppings on the pizza. We also tried the caccio e peppe and the smoked salmon spaghtetti. The caccio e peppe was spot on. Exactly like what you would have in italy. Very peppery though- fair warning to those who are not familiar with this dish. You can actually taste the kick and aroma of the fresh cracked pepper. The smoked salmon was also very unique. Altho slice salmon pieces was used instead of the smoked variety which you eat with crackers. Still good but nothing extraordinary. Reservations are a must, but if you walk in, they will try their best to seat you. One thing missing was the table side cheese service and olive oil. One thing to point out that this is not an italian restaurant. Its more like a corner pizzeria 2.0. Dont expect neopolitana or roma style pizzas. They have their own identity. Service here was excellent. They will try and answer your questions, engage you in conversation, and make sure you are taken care of. Cheers! Happy eating!

I forget where I came across this, but I heard that this place had a "spicy coconut kale pizza" and I knew I had to try it. I finally visited with a friend and the pizza totally lived up to my dreams. The flavours are pretty unexpected for pizza, but the aroma of the coconut cream with the nutty sauteed mushrooms and chili heat is heavenly. Their crust takes thin crust to a new level - it's almost paper thin but crispy and sturdy with nicely puffed edges. I saved a piece to take home, but one hungry person can definitely finish an entire pie. My friend got the Hawaiian and also praised it highly. Tiramisu is one of my favourite desserts so I also had to try theirs while I was here. We both really liked this too! Every bite was at first rich and creamy, and then the bittersweet coffee and cocoa flavour hit. The vibe here is great - our waiter was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We hung around for a while after we paid and didn't feel any pressure to leave. It might be a little too popular to really be a neighbourhood secret, but it definitely has that feel of a cozy and cool place that's a little hidden away from the world.

Solid 10/10 pizza with really excellent crispy crust. One of the best! Salads were good served by friendly staff. Very limited menu but more than enough to please. I would be a regular customer here for sure

I last minute made a reservation Friday afternoon for that same evening. Parking was easy and we got seated right away. Service was super friendly, perhaps a few too many frequent checkins. Tables were a bit small for what we ordered but we made it work. We sat by the takeout window which made it a bit chilly every time an order was passed through the sliding window. Would definitely recommend sitting elsewhere if you're dining in the winter as the breeze wasn't optimal. Smoked olives -- 3.5/5, these were good but I prefer more natural flavours to come through. Castelvetrano olives are my go-to but the buttery & creaminess was stripped away more than I would've liked Cacio e Pepe -- 4/5, pasta was al dente, well seasoned and cheesy Carne pizza-- 5/5, really enjoyed this pizza straight out of the oven. This one has a strong kick to it but I still asked for chilli oil as the crust was less exciting I would come back to try different pizza variations but wouldn't go out of my way for Italian food.

There are inside and outside (limited) seating. The employees were very nice. Food was very good! The bread, pasta and pizza were delicious! I'd recommend trying it out!

Deeeeeeeelish zza!!! We went for a date night Saturday and wanted to try this joint since we just moved into the hood. We saw photos of the pizza and they looked great. The menu also was alittle different from the usual which we liked as well. No reservations and we walked in at 5pm for Happy Hour (Sat) where we indulged in $5 wine and $2 off all zza. My partner got a negroni too for half off! ($14 down to $7) which tbh you never seen in this city!!! Great happy hour drink prices. We had no problem getting in either and got seated right away. Our waitress was awesome and attentive! Service was also really quick. Pizzas came out in less than ten minutes and piping hot! A few things I noticed right away was the integrity of the crust, holds all components nicely and with strength. It has a nice crispy bottom too and some charring on the sides which I always like. They also gave us hot chili oil for the table and chili flakes which I always appreciate. They're also extremely generous with the cheese! It was super melted and gooey and delish. The spicy salami was also so good and tasty! My partner also thoroughly enjoyed his margherita pizza. We tend to like our dough a touch chewier but all and all it was pretty dang good. Will def go back to try more dishes and pasta! Ambience is also solid for a date night!

We're visiting in Vancouver, and wanted an easy dinner since we had a late lunch and had been out all day. I took to the yelps and found this 4.5 star spot, and I'm a bit suspect. As you can see from the pics posted, the pizza is lacking on quantity, quality and toppings. Maybe it's because I'm used to Texas sized items, but a 4 slice pizza as a regular size? And the one peice of cheese per slice that slides off the millimeter thick crust is a bit lacking much like the few toppings put on top. The high ratings make me think they don't have much in the way of pizza around here. It cost a lot for so little. I ordered through door dash, and i will say they were timely and stuck to the schedule.

Excellent food and service! Our server and Kevin really took their time to make sure our dining experience was perfect. They promptly cleared our plates to make space for later dishes and answered our questions about their food and drinks whenever we had any. Food came quick and as they were ready just how we had asked for. We made reservations on the day of and they happily accommodated us with patio seating next to some lovely flowers. The drinks were delicious - my Aperol Spritz off the menu had a hint of bitterness to it and was not too sweet. My boyfriend tried the Negroni which had a kick of espresso before and after tasting. Very interesting combinations. Their pizzas were good, we tried the funghi and sausage and fennel but the star dish here was the tagliatelle bolognese, made in house. We also had the smoked salmon pasta and it was interestingly one of the first or few times I had smoked salmon with tomato-based red sauce. I would recommend trying more pasta dishes over pizzas but both are excellent. The pasta was so good I dove in to eat and forgot to take a photo of it - that is a rare occurrence! Not all pastas are made in house currently but their plan is to transition to this model in the future. I can't wait to come back and try the ragu!

Conflicted on this review and will still try this restaurant again. This review is based on pizza alone and I was not able to eat it at the restaurant due to the pandemic. Staff was lovely on the phone and the delivery was pretty smooth. I am european and grew up near Italy so I am a bit picky about how pizzas are made. We ordered 4 margheritas on a Saturday night. For the price of the pizza, it was pretty small. The dough was not too bad but it was really hard to bite into it and was pretty chewy. It was not a bad pizza but nothing too special about it. I will still like to come back when we are able to come sit inside again but maybe next time I will order a pasta or something else on their menu.

    Hawaiian
    Melissa C.

I've only had take out here with my girlfriends. We ordered and our two pizzas and salad were ready for pick-up in 20 minutes. Paid and neighbourhood street parking is available. We ordered the Hawaiian, which had a twist on the traditional Hawaiian with some chopped up macadamia nuts - interesting but I think I like my Hawaiian sans nuts. The best pizza by far was the Funghi! Loaded with mushrooms and the truffle-oil i fused in was overwhelmingly intoxicating! Each bite got better and better with all its earthy, richness. The crust was thin yet had some chew to it as well. In the end, I would come back for this pizza over and over! Just a note, they cut the pizza into only four slices, so they were pretty wide - perfect since it was the four of sharing but if there were more, you'll need a knife. We also ordered an Arugula Salad, nothing too special but it was fresh and tasty. Overall, good crust but please come for the Funghi!

Had a very nice dinner here the other night! Very friendly service from the bartender. Had a great margarita to start. For dinner we had the burrata-beet salad and the Hawaiian pizza. Both were excellent! Hawaiian pizza was very unique with macadamia nuts on it, such a fun idea! Crust here is chewy and medium-thickness. Taking off one star because we didn't love the tiramisu we had for dessert, but maybe it was an off night. Will definitely come back here!

    Funghi pizza- the best!!

Taste: 9/10 Value: 7/10 Service: 7/10 1) funghi pizza: one of the best I've ever had. Thin crispy crust, aromatic mushrooms. Mmm must come again. 2) Serrano ham pizza: not as good as the funghi pizza but still good. Thin crispy crust! 3) Hawaiian pizza: roasted pineapples, macadamia nuts. Yum! Best is still funghi

    Funghi ($18)
    Tony L.

This is my favourite pizza place in town. It's a small place, but all the pizzas are made with distinctly fresh ingredients that you'll really appreciate. My favourite here is the funghi pizza, basically mushrooms in white sauce and truffle oil. I can't explain to you how amazing this one is - you must try it for yourself. We also ordered the Hawaiian and the Serrano Ham, both of which were good in that order. The Hawaiian is obviously not like the ones you can get from Pizza Hut, but much more refined. It's a little pricey for what it is at $19, but you're paying for that refinement and the use of quality ingredients. I'd say it's worth it. The Serrano Ham was also interesting. The ham was a little too salty, but it is balanced with the sweetness of the caramelized onions. I'd try something else next time though. Overall, the crust of each pizza was perfect in its thickness and bite. The service was prompt and there is even a patio now (it beats the heat of the pizza oven indoors!) I'm already a returning customer, and definitely will be returning soon.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. They even tried the Grilled Spring Salmon (which my husband and I were a little loathe to share-- would it be worse if they disliked it or loved it too much?) and the crunchy bits of the antipasto platter. We absolutely loved their house-made pasta during that visit, so we knew we had to return and explore more of the menu. Ambiance - 4/5 One of the things we appreciate most about this restaurant is the outdoor seating. On a beautiful day, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're dining with a dog. Being able to relax outside with our pup made for a very enjoyable experience. Service - 3/5 Service was friendly, but not quite as attentive as during our previous visit. Our server was pleasant, though there were a few missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For example, we weren't informed that alcohol could not be served in the outdoor dining area until after we had already started looking at the drink menu while we were in the middle of dining. Food - 4/5 The highlight of this restaurant continues to be its house-made pasta. The texture is wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked, giving each dish a freshness that's difficult to find elsewhere. This visit, we tried the mushroom tagliatelle with truffle rosé sauce. While the description sounded incredible, the dish didn't quite live up to our expectations. It was enjoyable, but we still preferred the bolognese from our previous visit and cacio e pepe from this visit, both of which showcased the pasta more effectively. We also ordered the gnocchi, which was well prepared and satisfying to certain extent, but it didn't surpass our favorite one from San Francisco. The pesto sauce was just okay. If we order the gnocchi again, we'd likely try it with a tomato-based sauce instead. Overall Value - 4/5 This restaurant offers excellent value, particularly for pasta lovers. The quality of the house-made pasta alone makes it worth a visit, and there are still several dishes on the menu we're eager to try. We're already looking forward to returning and exploring more of what the kitchen has to offer.
