I wish Yelp gave the option of selecting 0 stars. I called in a order for pick up and was told 30 minutes but instead I waited 53 minutes for my order. I completely understand when you are busy, but based on observation, I did not think that was the case, workers were more interested in having conversations within themselves than actually preparing peoples order. Unfortunately, I feel this place doesn't even deserve 1 starts due to lack of customer service. Pizza was delicious (a little too greasy for my liking) but honestly, i would have given 4 stars due to shitty pizza and amazing customer service. This was tonight's unfortunate event. My family (which took over majority of the left side of your building) and I were out celebrating for my fathers birthday. Majority of everyone that was there were drinking water. (Mind you, everyone is well over the age of 55, not including myself. We are not some young high school kids trying to jack soda from you guys) Everyone seemed to be drinking water like there was no tomorrow so I decided to go up to the cashier to ask for A PITCHER of water so everyone could sit and enjoy each other rather then get up constantly, make everyone play musical chairs and refill their cups. The young lady who was working tonight wasn't too sure if this was possible so she went and asked one of the pizza makers, he wasn't too sure either. So just as she was turning around to tell me the news, the manager walked in. She asked him and he turns, looks at me and says "no" and starts walking away. As I'm calling him and I'm trying to explain to him our table situation he interrupts me and says "we don't give out pitchers of water" and turns and try's to walk away again. I offered to even PAY for the damn pitchers of water and he completely ignored me.... Now, i am all about respect in today's world and I think if you want to keep a business going, you may want to train your employees have better customer service and more respect for the people THEY ARE SERVING. Arrive at 7:15, it will be another 10 minutes ma'm, 20 minutes later I see my order placed under the warmer and do you think anyone called my name to go get it... nope! I purposely waited there and watched to see if I'd be called and nothing. I had to go back up there and ask if that was my order. First and last visit to this pizza Factory. The young cashier working with extremely long fake nails took our order with a mean mug. My husband and I played a couple games while we waited for our order and the air hockey table needs to be updated and pushed away from that boxing game because it's so close you could accidentally hit the person behind you playing air hockey. Our pizza looked pretty good but it was extremely hot in the center. The pizza burned our mouths even after waiting for it to cool down. It took about 30mins for the pizza to be cool enough to where the cheese and sauce wouldn't slide off when you picked it up. As I was waiting for the food to cool down I noticed the cashier touching a dirty screen then make a salad for a to go order without wearing gloves or washing her hands first before preparing it. I also noticed an employee grab peppers out the salad bar and prepare a sandwich without gloves or washing his hands. The salad bar isn't covered and with the employees grabbing what they need out of it to prepare other orders is pretty gross. Wash your hands before preparing food & wear gloves. Also put the sanitizer bucket away & keep your lawn tools in the garage. read more

I am a 26 year-old rock climber who has been to Pizza Factories all over the state. I can say without a doubt that this is the best Pizza Factory I've been to! Three of us split an Extra Large pizza and I had a salad from the salad bar. The salad was great. All the ingredients were super fresh and delicious. The pizza was excellent. Perfectly cooked, good ingredients, and plenty of food for three hungry climbers. The layout and decor of the restaurant is very nice. Open and modern. Clean. The owner is a gem and made it a point to chat with us and make sure we enjoyed our meal. Excellent on all fronts. Will definitely return next time I'm passing through Merced! read more

Spicy garlic starts, to pesto, to nothing but muddled flavors and a sore jaw from the thick layer of cheese. The western bbq chicken pizza was not an improvement, with flavorless toppings sliding off and the only sweet flavor of bbq that became boring fast. Decent place for AYCE pizza (not the only option, but I would only come here for the lunch buffet). The options during the lunch buffet are not that various, but you can't expect much for the inexpensive price. The buffet is supposed to end at 2 PM, but they were willing to extend it as long as they had customers come in, which was nice since we arrived right at 2 and would have missed the buffet otherwise. The pizza was not too oily and had a comfortable amount of flavor, despite being very standard. The salad bar offered many selections and they were willing to provide alternative pizza options for those that have dietary restrictions! That factor gave me the impression that they were friendly and flexible. They also have a cool arcade section that you might want to hit up while waiting for the pizza. I'm giving this place 3 stars because the food was not exceptional, but the service was hospitable. I would only come back because of the price, not the food. read more

I wanted to cater in lunch for some business clients and reached out to Pizza Factory for that. They had some other large catering events the same day but they were great about finding a solution for me. They were right on time for delivery and the driver helped me set everything up. I ordered an additional 10 pieces of cinnamon sticks and an additional large pepperoni pizza. $70 bucks. That's a lot of money. I could get a better deal at other places. No real coupons or offers. My issue is not so much the food, Pizza Factory has been one of my favorite places to eat since I was a kid. Every time we have order from this one something happens. But this weekend Sat (11/23/19) around 7:15 pm we ordered delivery food came on time but there was stuff missing. The driver asked if we'd like him to go back we yes please and gave him a good tip to drive back. After 40 minutes went by I called to see where he was with the missing food. The lady who was very nice said she couldn't see our order because it was online. The manager got on and kept trying to read me an order from months ago and told me he's closing early and I can bring him my receipt tomorrow and get my cookies then. I told him the guy should of been back along time ago before they were supposedly closing at 8:30 on a Saturday night. He started to yell at me asked what I expected him to do. As a manager it was his job to make a costumers order correct and if his driver couldn't follow though he should have brought the rest of our order himself. When I asked him his name he hung up on me. Long story short, we never got the rest of our order. We'll never order from here again. Very disappointing! This is my second review I am leaving because my last one was over a year ago. This is the BEST pizza place in town. We had a party with 50 people here tonight and everything from the space, the food, and every single staff member was amazing. All of the food came out at perfect timing and was so delicious. There is a variety of party packages to choose from that they can even customize to fit all of your needs. It's very Disappointing to see what Pizza Factory has turned into! I worked at Pizza Factory for almost 10 years when I was younger and we were taught very different then. We were taught to be quick and professional all the time. When an order came in we were on top of it instantly. The Merced Pizza Factory is horrible I have had multiple issues and mistakes. There has been multiple times I have ordered and was told it be ready in 20-25mins and when I show up it's not even made yet and I end up waiting 45-50mins and let me mind you the restaurant is empty!! When I worked there and we were busy customers never waited more than 30mins for their orders and that's when we were BUSY!!! Also what is going on with this not taking orders at 8:45pm because they are getting ready to close at 9:30pm??? I remember our manager having us take orders all the way up to 9:55pm and we were closing at 10pm!!! Pizza Factory is definitely not what it use to be and it's very sad, and I don't know if it's the workers, or management or what but it's definitely gotten bad over the years.... read more

This is my 3rd time and every experience has been one ordeal after another. It was my dad's birthday and we preordered. We had to wait an hour for our pizza and they brought them out in 20 minute increments. On another visit they would not take my groupon. The other time they didn't get my order correct. I am a fan of pizza factory with the exception of the Merced location. I recommend driving the extra distance to atwater. read more

The pizza here is amazing! 10 times better than the pizza factory back home! The dough is fresh and soft and the toppings aren't failing off like the one in Mendota! Once upon a time I would travel 40 miles for their awesome pizza, driving up the mountain to the Mariposa restaurant, because that was the closest to my home. I was excited when they opened a branch in Merced, where I live. This review is for the Merced restaurant only. Every other restaurant I have been to is awesome. On New Years Eve I ordered 2 pizzas for a party. I ordered them early in the day, so I wouldn't miss out. Having been a branch manager of 2 different pizza restaurants years ago, I know how hard pizza places get hit on New Years Eve. I ordered and paid online, and set a pickup time for 6:45pm (the website said they would be open until 11pm). I got in my car and was driving to the restaurant a little after 6:30pm when they called my cell and told me they were cancelling my order. They wouldn't listen to me, and they wouldn't help me. They said they decided to close at 7, and they wouldn't have time to make my pizza (which they should have made already by this time). It was now to late to order from anywhere, that is until Papa Murphy's bailed me out and made the pizzas for me. Every time I have been in this restaurant they have been rude. No More. I will not return there. The Merced restaurant is a stain on the Pizza Factory reputation. I hear the same thing from everyone I have talked too. Work in Merced a few days a week so thought I would try it and bring it home to Mariposa where I live. What a disappointment. Hardly any cheese, very small mushrooms and very little sausage. The crust was very thin. Nothing like we are use to compared to the Mariposa Pizza Factory. They had better live up to the franchise standards or they won't last. I also asked her for a senior discount..she said she wasn't sure but Chk and they did have one but it would be under $2 so it didn't matter. Then she asked how old I was. Mistake!!! These employees need training. She couldn't find my pizza and I told her to Chk on top of oven. Eureka! Unbelievable. Won't reco. this place to Merced residents. Needs lots of work.
