Food was cold and soggy. Also the delivery man walked in without even knocking. Would not recommend.

It's exactly…read morewhat you want from a small-town spot--great food, friendly service, and a local vibe that makes you feel right at home. The Food They are known for their hand-stretched pizza, and the crust is definitely the highlight. It has that perfect chew and char. The Pizza Bowls: A great option if you're trying to stay low-carb but still want all the pizza flavors. Taco Tuesday: If you're lucky enough to be there on the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of the month, the tacos are a must-try. Just a heads up--they usually only do tacos on those nights, so no pizza then! The Vibe It's a cozy, "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place in the best way possible. It's where the locals hang out, and the staff is incredibly welcoming to travelers. Because they are only open for a few hours in the evening (5 PM - 8 PM), it can get busy quickly, so showing up early is a good move. Things to Know Hours: They have a short window, so plan your drive accordingly! Parking: Plenty of easy street parking right in front. Takeout: They do a brisk carry-out business if you're just passing through on the I-35 and want a better meal than typical fast food.

I travel to St. Joseph for work at least three times a year and I come here every single time. Have…read morebeen doing it for years. After today I won't be coming back. My work colleagues and I got sat and were informed of a long wait as there was only one server - cool. No problem. It happens. We are sitting about 20 minutes when a table of 8 gets sat next to us. The cook immediately came from behind the counter to bring water for them. We were still sitting there with nothing. Our server came over - apologized and got our orders and brought out our drinks. Our salads came out and all was well. Then we waited and waited. We were informed that one of the potato pizzas we ordered couldn't be made because they were out of potatoes. No big deal. We changed the order. Then the group next us - who came in 20 minutes after us and ordered after us all got served their pizzas(including a few potato pizzas). While we waited and was not served. Finally realizing that our diverse group of 5 was being shafted for the very non-diverse group of 8 we asked for our pizzas to go and we left. So if the intention of Il Lazzarone was to make us feel sidelined and "othered" - congratulations. Job well done. Because we left there being reminded of just how how bigotry feels. The pizzas was still great in my hotel room. But you will never see a recommendation from me or dime of my money again.

The waitress did a great job explaining and her recommendations were spot on! We started off with the bruschetta. It was very fresh and layered with flavors! We then ordered the Salsiccia Italiana (Mozzarella, Sausage, basil, olive oil, sea salt) and the Crepa (Mozzarella, bacon, basil, garlic, balsamic glaze, olive oil, sea salt). We both agreed the the Crepa was our favorite but they were both very good! The Italian sausage was very flavorful. We ate half of each pizza and saved room for dessert. Our waitress recommended the S'mores with added cookie dough. It was so yummy and worth the calories! We love supporting these type of specialty restaurants in St Joe. We will definitely be back!
