After reading the excellent reviews, we decided to have lunch there and save the brewery for drinks only. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who explained the daily lunch special: a pulled pork sandwich, fries, and a drink. It sounded like a great value, so we ordered two specials along with a serving of the banana pudding for dessert. The pulled pork sandwich was served without sauce, allowing us to customize it from several barbecue sauce options available at the self serve counter. The pork was flavorful and tender, the fries were crispy, and the banana pudding was a delicious finishing touch that definitely hit the spot. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the value of the lunch special. One thing to note is that a 3% fee is added for credit card purchases, and the restrooms are reserved for customers only. Overall, this was a fortunate and memorable find. The food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the value was excellent. I would highly recommend Woody's Q Shack to anyone traveling through south-central Colorado and looking for authentic barbecue.

Grabbing the sauces is fun because it's like you're milking the sauces. Service is nice and prompt. I'd get the burnt ends here repeatedly but nothing else. The pulled port and brisket were mediocre. The brioche buns helped on the pulled pork sandwich, but it needed a lot of sauce. The fries were also mediocre. The loaded mac bowl was nuts. It was rich in flavor, but it was so packed and covered in cheese that it tasted like food coma in a bowl. I think it was good, but nothing I'd ever eat again.

When we arrived, however, the aroma of a barbecue restaurant across the street convinced us to eat there instead, so we stopped in here for drinks only. I ordered a flight of six craft beverages , and all were above average. My favorite was the blackberry cider, which stood out for its excellent flavor and balance. I also appreciated that the beers were locally crafted and that the brewery offered a seasonal selection of specialty brews. We arrived right when they opened at 11:00 a.m., so the atmosphere was quiet and uncrowded. While the service was adequate, it lacked enthusiasm and did not leave a lasting impression. On a positive note, both the taproom and restrooms were clean and well maintained. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this brewery as a pleasant stop for a locally crafted drink. Fun fact: Alamosa, located in Colorado's San Luis Valley, is known for experiencing some of the coldest nighttime temperatures in the state due to it's location in the valley and unique geography.

We got the pretzel as an appetizer.... The pretzel was greasy and so was the cheese they gave with it. The cheese seemed frozen, then microwaved. It had a really dull/greasy taste and odd texture. The French dip was like rubber. And the au jus sauce was bland. For her the best part was the side salad. She even said her beer had an odd taste to it. My chicken sandwich had no flavor. The red potatoes where severly over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. My drink (the house black cherry cream soda), was really good the first glass! Second glass was flat and very syrupy. The server briefly came by a couple times. He would quickly ask "everything ok?", as he rushed by. He wasn't horrible, but he wasn't great either. Overall we where very unimpressed. Not somewhere we'll be returning to. For the price, I had better expectations.

The restaurant was clearly popular, with a packed parking lot and a steady line of guests waiting for tables. While the outdoor seating wait was about 30 minutes, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated indoors right away. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, though it can get quite loud during busy times. I ordered the Rio Brisket Tacos and appreciated the happy hour discount, which made them an even better value. The Chokecherry Habanero Margarita was a standout, offering just the right balance of flavor and heat. My son tried the Homesick Texas Steak Sandwich along with a homemade root beer and thought they were decent. Service was a bit inconsistent during our visit, but the staff seemed to be managing a very busy crowd. The restaurant's popularity was evident when we overheard that the wait time had grown to an hour and a half by the time we left. Overall, while the experience didn't completely meet our expectations, it's easy to see why this spot draws such a crowd. The unique drink offerings, happy hour specials, eating by the river and strong local following may make it worth a visit for travelers passing through the area.

They were not, and the side of BBQ sauce was unnecessary, but better safe than sorry. The pulled pork on that pretzel bun SHHHHMACKS! I'll definitely be back for another one.....next week! I'll drive through a snow storm for that pig! Even better than the sandwich was the Onion Rings. Haven't had rings like that in....... maybe ever! They were cooked great, and so crunchy but slightly soft inside! They are a bit pricey for the smallish amount you get, but it is BBQ so I expected a bigger bill from the jump. The cole slaw isn't my favorite, but made a decent crunchy topper to add into the sandwich. The guy that took our order and then brought our food out was really great as well. Can't wait to come back and try more!

KFC was there to sort of alleviate the bitterness left behind by the day's disappointments. So we grabbed a family bucket of chicken ($37.93 including tax). It took them 20 minutes to bring my food out to my car. I wasn't the only one, 3-4 cars waited that long also. As I said not the first time, but the longest wait. Yes they were busy. But in the last couple months this has been the norm. Here is my suggestion, if you can't get my food to me within a few minutes, then don't take any more orders until you can fulfill the orders you have in the queue. That way if someone doesn't want to wait in line that long they can leave. Once we have payed for our meals, most won't leave. Please get it together management.
