We arrived as a party of six and were told there would be a 40-minute wait, which was understandable given the holiday. However, we were asked to wait outside. At the time, the Canadian soldier flies were extremely active, making it very uncomfortable, especially for the grandchildren. Because of that, my wife's daughter and her family decided to leave, leaving just my wife and me. As soon as our party was reduced to two people, we were seated immediately. While waiting, I noticed a table that had just become available after a party of six left. It appeared large enough to accommodate our original group, which made the situation even more frustrating. After being seated, we ordered drinks. When our server returned, she informed us that shrimp scampi was not available until 2:00 p.m. and that they were already out of perch. Both were items I would have considered ordering. The way this information was presented came across as dismissive rather than helpful. I commented that there seemed to be a lot of restrictions on what could be ordered. The server responded sarcastically, saying, "Yep, and you can leave, but you'll have to wait five minutes." At that point, I felt completely unwelcome as a customer. After reviewing the menu and considering both the limited options and the server's attitude, I decided not to stay. I also noticed that the table that had seated six people remained empty for at least 15 minutes after we arrived. When I told the server that I was unhappy with how I was being treated and would likely leave a review, she laughed and replied, "Make sure you tell them my name is Lexi." As we left, she continued to laugh. Adding to the confusion, after we left, the restaurant called the phone number we had provided for our original party of six, indicating that our table was ready. This only reinforced my belief that our entire group could likely have been accommodated much sooner. This was my first visit to Beaver House, and it will also be my last. What should have been a Father's Day celebration turned into a disappointing experience due to poor customer service, lack of communication, and an overall feeling that our business was not valued.

I had the House Pad Thai, which I had never noticed on the menu before. Yum! It was prepared super fast and was still hot and fresh when I got home. A couple of tasty pork egg rolls and some shrimp chips topped things off nicely. The price is still quite reasonable for the amount and quality. I've missed Golden Crown and will be back soon. During the extent of our dining experience, there were far more people there for take out than dine in. Service - there was no one in the dining area when we entered. After waiting a few minutes, the one and only server exited the kitchen and seated us. We were given menus and we asked for ice water and hit tea. The server disappeared again for about 10 minutes before delivering our drinks and fried egg noodles with duck sauce taking our order. Another 10 minutes (at least) before our pan fried dumpling appetizer arrived and another 20 passed before our entrees were delivered to our table. During this entire period of time, there was only one other table of patrons in the restaurant! There was never a word of apology for the delays, not even a pleasant demeanor on the part of the server! In short, the service was very disappointing. Food - ranging from horrible (what the restaurant tried to pass as chicken lo mein, picture attached) to average (fried dumplings were extremely thick), to decent (lemon chicken) Value - needless to say, I did not view the value to be very good.
