Went to The Mystic Belle river cruise in Vermilion today with a group. We had 22 go on the boat at 10 and myself and 4 others went on the 11:00 boat. The first group went to Quacker Steak and us 5 went after at noon. Furst group was eating. We sat at 1 table and Chelsey L was our server. She came to our table and took our drink orders. After bringing the drinks we were ready to order. During the time she eas professional yet friendly. She has a great personality. I was joking around with her and she had some good responses. The food was good. I recommend this Quacker Steak. And, I recommend you add if Chelsey L is working and if you can get her as your server. read more

This was one of my favorite summer afternoons. We spent the day relaxing on the patio, enjoying appetizers and cold drinks while listening to live music. One of the best parts was watching the boats pass by and seeing them travel under the bridge. The view of the water, the sunshine, and the laid-back atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. We came in after a long day at cedar point for an early dinner! We were nervous to come because of the rating BUT we had to give our own review. First of all the view of the river was amazing, we sat inside for the air conditioning but you can see the river perfectly with the wrap around windows! Our server Gabe was awesome! He came promptly, brought us refills without having to ask, and got our order perfect. Our food came out timely and was delicious! The wings were crispy yet juicy and tender, the wing flavors were delish as well! My mom had the chicken Cesar salad with the cheese curds on the side and the Cesar dressing was AMAZING, same with the cheese curds that come with the salad. Our pretzel stix were crispy yet soft, perfectly cooked. I have eaten at a few Quaker Steaks in my day, and we had an exceptional experience at this location! I 11/10 say you should go! I know that mistakes happen at restaurants where certain reviews are warranted, but please don't let them deter you from this location! I was warned from a friend to keep my expectations low at this location. Haven had good experiences in the past, we gave it a try. Table and initial service was fine- it was a wonderful night by the water. We sat by the river near our boat. It went down hill from there. My wife and I ordered water with lemon, a friend iced tea with lemon, and I had a beer. Drinks came without lemon. When queried, waitress disappeared to go get it, and came back advising, they were out of lemon. Okay. Maybe they had a busy weekend. We ordered food. Wife and I shared a bacon cheeseburger and wings. Friend had a special smash burger of some kind. All to be cooked medium ( a little pink) After a 20 min wait the food came. The bacon cheeseburger wasn't. No bacon. When asked, waitress disappeared to get the bacon then came back and told us they were out of bacon. The friends burger was not what he ordered as well and all were overcooked. Waitress did not try to make it right. I don't understand. It was a beautiful day, but it was EMPTY. I went to the downstairs bar, and they did not have my brand on draft downstairs in the tall frosty glass. SOOO, I walked all the way around and upstairs to get a draft. When I re-joined my wife downstairs, and drank more than half way down the glass, rather than walk all the way back upstairs to get a refill, I ordered a longneck to fill my glass, and underestimated the size. When it did not fill the glass, I ordered a second longneck. The bartender said she could not give me more than 2. The ONE she gave me was EMPTY, and I needed part of another to fill the glass. She declined to give me another beer, and I refused to walk back upstairs, with my wife happy sitting downstairs. I asked a very nice bartender to please bring me a manager. TY might have been the rudest person EVER. I explained step by step, EVERY detail, so that he understood that I had a nearly EMPTY beer glass (1, not 2), and was merely trying to ENJOY the experience. I was not drunk, and never got hostile. It seems like common sense made him angry. I said that I would be happy to pay for this beer and leave. He said "get out now", and I HAPPILY left. So I rarely give a low review, but this couldn't be avoided. My husband and I spent the morning walking around downtown Vermilion. A lovely trip. We stopped at Quaker Steak and Lube. Now you can't really have high expectations for a chain wing restaurant. But you hope for the best. We were fairly early for lunch, about 11:30. We were greeted by a nice young hostess, who said that she would also be our server. She asked for our drink order almost immediately upon seating us. My husband asked what IPAs they had on draft. She laughed and said she really didn't know and didn't have glasses on, so couldn't see the bar. My husband located a list on the menu, which was great, as she never offered to check. The table felt like it hadn't been wiped off in awhile. We both ordered the Caesar Salad. It was pretty tasty, although it's tough to ruin lettuce and grilled chicken. I am sure this is a popular Vermilion spot. While I probably won't go back. They just need to pay attention to a few things to improve. If I could give it a minus Star!! I would , we came in and sat down at the bar. Two more gentlemen were at the bar was not busy at all. There was a bartender and another manager, and another worker just standing by the register and then when they were done, they just went about their business. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink. We waited at least 10 minutes Usually when you sit at the bar, you get waited on right away we've been given this business multiple chances to earn our business. I saw a lot of reviews (some of them fairly old) about long wait times after you order your food (& that was our experience at a different Q.S. ~15 yrs ago - the last time I've eaten at a Q.S. as a result), but decided to give Vermilion's Q.S. a try with 3 out of town friends for the riverside ambience. At 6:30pm we walked in, mid July (so peak season) were seated immediately outside, mostly in the shade as we requested, and were waited on immediately. Once we ordered, our food arrived very promptly, and everyone liked what they ordered. A great experience! Since the majority of people I presume only bother to take the time to write a review after a negative experience, I decided to add our very good experience. (BTW, if you have a hard time hearing conversations due to loud restaurant noise (music and/or patron conversations), I recommend eating outside, weather permitting. It was MUCH quieter.) read more

Waited about 40 minutes for our outside table that was open but the waitress had to page each person the list ahead of us three times before they get crossed off- we were the only ones left waiting. We had a good river view. Took about twenty minutes to get our pretzel appetizer. The beer cheese was great. Lunch came while we were eating the appetizer. The burger was good; had great flavor. My buffalo chicken sandwich was not good. Fell apart after a bite and chicken was poorly cooked. May have been undercooked; very chewy. Cold beer, a view, and family time helped this place get to two stars. read more

Right on the water with a lot of great places to sit or stroll while you wait for a table. There can be long waits for outside seating because of the gorgeous view, but they will text your phone when your table is ready. I'm surprised about the low star reviews. We enjoy this place. I go with a staple of some dry rub wings and the appetizer pretzels. My wife enjoys the ribs, although I have to remind her to look at the sauce "hot chart" before ordering! She once ordered Buckeye BBQ sauce thinking it was a normal barbecue sauce. It was very good, but very hot! LOL. I inherited the ribs that night. Overall, we are pleased with Quaker Steak. As I said earlier, I'm not a fan of the pick up system, but glad to see that the owner is listening to Feedback. If you're not in a rush to get seated, definitely check out the outdoor patio. Nice waterfront view of vermillion river. Hostess seating our party of 10 outdoors was unresponsive to our needs. Also not creative in finding suitable table for 40 minutes when restaurant was not crowded. We were only party waiting. Had to wait for a particular table they wanted to seat us at when other seats were available wuth a little creativity. Once seated service was good. However quality of food was awful!! Nachos were some cold corn chips with a few squirts of fake cheese, no guacamole, sour cream, salsa, real cheese or veggies like onions peppers etc. hamburger was like leather, wings were ok. Bam bam shrimp was chopped up shrimp deep fried. Yuk! Only positive was the view!! One star is for view! read more

Our first impression of this visit was very poor. We got there around 11:30 am, stood in the front waiting for someone to come seat us. Well once we figured no one will come to greet us, we walked up to the bar. There was one young lady behind the bar tending to one patron. When she realized we were there she quickly reacted to seat us. Where she tried to seat us the table was dirty. She quickly apologized and said that whomever closed last night may have missed that table. A young lady came and took our order. It was served within a reasonable amount of time. My husband asked for vinegar and olive oil and salad was served without it. When I walked over to try and find out server the young lady tending bar asked if we needed anything. I stated we didn't get the oil & vinegar, she said they didn't have any. We wish we would have been told upfront so we could request another dressing for salad. Now for the positive notes: Food was tasty, steak cooked to perfection. The view of the water although it's partial view of docks, you can see the condominium's in the background. This is not the first time we visited this particular restaurant. We've never been there in the summer. They have a downstairs area with bar that I never heard about or visited. I think it would be cool to watch the water-crafts stop there for lunch. The inside is just a world of different things to look at and admire. Just a tip to Quaker Steak - Maybe have a buzzer or bell that alerts someone that you have guests. Make sure that the tables are wiped down. First impressions are very important. Will I go back!! We recently visited the outside patio/bar for a couple of drinks. We had one drink and left. The smell of garbage heavily permeated the seating areas both at the bar and further away. There were swarms of bees with no visible aids to control them (bee traps). The area behind the bar looked like a bomb exploded back there. The latticework that hides a multitude of things was missing whole panels so that we could see all of the "stuff" back up under the decking. It was awful. No ambiance here. It's such a shame! It's a great spot to enjoy a drink and food outdoors right along the dock. We won't go back until that mess is cleaned up. It's disgusting. read more

We placed an order for pickup drove from Birmingham Ohio to the restaurant about a 15 minute drive get gone to find out we were missing 1 dinner order. Also, they substituted the fried pickles for double onion rings. We drove back to the restaurant to get missing meal asked about the fried pickles were told they were out of them, they never said that over the phone. This was a $65 food order, that we had to make 2 trips and all the manager would do is give us $15 gift card. Won't be back here don't waste your money. read more

This place was great before they abruptly decided to close for the winter. Now, it just plain sucks. We went on 4th of July to have lunch, about 3/4 of the dining room was empty, we were told that there would be a 30 min. wait, yet we stood at the hostess stand and watched several employees just standing around not doing much. When we inquired about the empty dining room and the 30 min. Wait, we were told that they only had 1 server for the inside. 2 weeks later we returned to have dinner and pretty much the same scenario, once again we left to go somewhere else. On the few occasions we were able to get a seat, we noticed that we did not recognize any of the servers or bartenders from previous visits. It appears as though turnover is high, the food is also not as good as it was before they decided to close for the winter, this place used to be packed during the summer months, not so much now.
