I can't speak for any of their entrees, because I've never had them, but their pizza and subs are some of the best around. They don't skimp when it comes to their subs. You can't even close them and they make a mess, because of it, but they're absolutely delicious. The steak and cheese with banana peppers is one of my favorites, but their Italian sub is the best Italian sub I've had. I cannot say enough good things about their margherita pizza either. It's by far my favorite. No wonder it's in their name. When I want pizza and subs, this is the first place around that I think of. I've been going there for well over 10 years and I've only had one bad experience. We were the only people in the whole restaurant. We ordered subs and after waiting 15-20 mins we asked if they were almost ready. They admitted that they forgot to start making them... somehow. If the food wasn't so good, I would have asked for a refund and walked out, but I had my heart set on that Italian sub. 10+ years (possibly 15+, now that I think of it) of great food and customer service. Amazing fresh pizzas and delicious garlic knots, but their pastas are not fresh and are store bought. Unsure if desserts are as well. We visited about a month ago now with our grandsons. We hadn't been there in a few years. The pizza was as thin as paper and had ZERO flavor (margarita pizza) and the ziti was bland and watery. I have been to Pizza NY Margherita twice now. Both times the food has been outstanding! The Service is outstanding as well. The Spaghetti Carbonara with added Sausage is perhaps the Best Pasta I have ever had! Their Pizza is excellent as well. The Ambience is that of a very nice Italian restaurant. When I went to get a Cherry Coke, it was out of syrup. The Girl at the Register saw me and asked was the Soda no good? Then Joe the GM or owner told me it is out of Syrup and will be fixed ASAP. I did not need to go tell anyone or wait in a line to tell them as I would in so many other restaurants. Again, Top Notch - Ritz Carlton type service! I have dined here many times over the years and even had business lunch meetings with sales representatives from other companies and they have all enjoyed the food. When coming in to the restaurant you are greeted at the counter by a staff member and will be given a menu to place an order at the register and then you will be given a number card to place at the table you select to dine at if dining in. The staff will then bring your order to the table once finished, there is really no table service other than someone bussing the table after you have left. Sodas and water are self serve in the dining area with free refills of course. Beer and wine can be ordered at the bar or register also. The restaurant appears to be kept clean and orderly and is well lit with lighting and a corner location with windows on both walls. My trip in today had me ordered the fried calamari and the Chicken Marsala. The calamari was just the rings no tentacles served with a semi-spicy dipping sauce that was sprinkled with crushed red pepper flakes. It was a nice little starter. The main course of the Chicken Marsala was served with Fettuccine pasta and mushrooms in a wine sauce with 2 slices of garlic bread. The chicken is beaten flat and tender when eating and the noodles were slightly chewy and seemed to have soaked up some of the sauce which was nice as you don't see that in some other restaurants. Other foods I have enjoyed at this location are the pizzas, steak and cheese, and grilled chicken Caesar salad. My favorite though pizza are the Pizza Napoli and the Pizza Margherita. read more

I came away disappointed and my wife only slightly better after dining here on an early Saturday night. It started off poorly right away as we walked in and literally didn't know what was on the menu. Since we wanted a couple of slices of pizza we walked to where the pies are on display. Despite there being no less than eight employees standing behind the counter, they can't actually help you. I had to walk to the end of the counter by the register to place my order. Well guess what, there are no signs to identify the pizzas so I had to walk back to where I just was to point to the cashier which slices I wanted. Strike one. My wife was excited to see one slice of eggplant pizza left which she snagged along with a side Greek salad and a glass of Chianti. I picked two slices of their special pizza with a Peroni. We paid, got a number and found an empty booth. Our food ended up coming out in waves. First we each got a slice of pizza on too small a plate and hanging over the edges. Really? Why not throw them on a pizza pan. Next wave my second slice arrived. No sign of the salad so we went up and asked and it was delivered a couple minutes later. Finally on the fourth visit, the garlic bread arrived. Why can't we just get everything at once? Strike two. My pizza looked good up front but was delivered luke warm and tasted like pizza I would reheat in a microwave at home. My wife's pizza slice had wonderful flavors but was only luke warm as well. The high point was the garlic bread and Greek salad. Both generous portions and very tasty. Strike three though for luke warm, bland tasting slices. Three strikes for me and I'm out. This was my first time here. I was shopping at nearby Total Wine around lunch time. I was hungry for a quick lunch, therefore, I asked Total Wine's cashier if the pizza was any good at this nearby pizzeria. She said it was good, therefore, I walked over. They had lots of pizzas with different toppings on display. I opted for a single slice of pepperoni pizza. They gave me a number for my table, which I inserted into their table display stand on my table. I was served with a large piece of pepperoni pizza. I noticed the pizza was oily from the pepperoni. I really tried to like this place. Ordered take out a few times. Orders were wrong. Asked for specific things not to be put on the food because there's an allergy. Ordered the Veggie pizza and it was not good. Nowhere on the menu does it say it's sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Pizza came covered in it. Parmesan cheese is nasty and smells like dirty feet. We happened to be in Gainesville on a Monday afternoon and were so hungry and really craving pizza. We were so happy we found this little hidden gem! Having grown up in Northern Va, you expect a lot of pizza places to be similar, but honestly, the flavor and freshness was awesome! My son (who does not like spaghetti and meat sauce) could not stop eating off of mine. The meat lovers pizza was and the steak and cheese was so hot and juicy! It was perfection. Pizza tasted great and was quick to deliver. Staff was very chill. I felt like i walked in on a family. It's missing a star because the iced tea tasted a whole awful lot like dish water. I was too thirsty to complain. Also - message to manager. I like the efforts in creating a holiday-like atmosphere. I recommend you have an activity for kids, maybe pizza toy giveaways where they make their own pizza. Or placemats that they can color. Another entrant into the Greater Haymarket/Gainesville area megaplex pizza wars has made it's debut - enter "Pizza NY Margherita" For those of you that are fans of Tony's NY Pizza in Fair Lakes - you may also like this place - the same folks own and run the place. The joint opened just over a week ago according to the girl at the counter. I called in an order for pickup: one 14" New York Style meat lovers pizza with mushrooms added, and an order of spicy chicken wings. Pizza and wings were tasty. The only thing that I would ding them on is the meats on the pizza needed to be cooked a tad longer. The wings were the breaded and fried variety - so the breading contained the spice - their spicy is not that hot to me. I whipped up a small bowl of Frank's Buffalo wing sauce to dip my wings and flavor them. The consistency of the wings were good, crisp, cooked perfectly, and with a side of Blue Cheese dressing. I wish the Blue Cheese dressing were a bit on the chunky side. The menu contains a variety of offerings: appetizers, subs, Calzone, Stromboli, pasta, veal, and more. For eat in diners - the interior of the place is quite spacious. Was a decent crowd eating in and picking up on a Monday evening. Will be back! read more

Stopped in on a whim and was immediately impressed. The place was clean, seems to be family owned and ran. The menu was amazing. Went with a simple margarita pie and it was more than I expected. Was just like back home in Jersey. Fresh mozzarella and basil. Plenty of sauce so the pizza wasn't dry and the perfect crispness like a real pizza should have. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu. They even had cannolis (which looked delish!). Beer by the pitcher ($10). Me and my parents ate the entire pie and by entire, I mean the crust too. It was just that good. It's really hard to find "real" pizza down here in Virginia. Already picking a day to go back.
