A 5 year old little girl recommended Pizza Pal to me saying "It's pretty good. When I was 3 I went there", so I believed the 5 year old and ordered a Greek salad with chicken on my payday. I had initially graved a Caesar salad with chicken but once I saw the price with protein I had to get the salad with the most variety in terms of veggies. I wanted the most ingredients for my dollar. The establishment was clean. Plenty of seating for both casual and for more formal seating the restaurant is divided in half with fancier decor toward the right ride of the building. The bathrooms were set back down a hallway which is great for privacy and odor. I enjoyed the posting hanging on the bathroom wall ... straight forward but a polite reminder to clean up after yourself. I ate in my car since I was having a dramatic phone call. The salad was visually appealing and immediately filled the car with a delicious, savory, aroma of herbs & spices. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The dressing was yummy and the portion great. The price though for the salad $21.95! Very rich! The most I've ever paid for salad was maybe $12-$15 dollars and that's including protein. The salad had great flavor and it was well done. However, at this price I might as well sit down inside and get table service. PRO: Great tasting food, plenty of off street parking and clean interior. CON: The price. It's basically $22 for a salad. I would recommend this restaurant because what I ate was very good. I would go again to sit down and experience the table side service on the more formal half of the restaurant ... after I work some over time hours to pay for it all. I have going to this pizza spot on and off throughout 2023. The pizza is good the best thing about the pizza is the crust, crispy and light. The cheese is used generously but not over done. The flavor is not out of this world but it is better than many. The sauce is bitter sweet and works well with the rest of the pizza. read more

Pretty solid pizza all the way out in CT. I did love the crust of my pie. Not too chewy but not too crunchy. Sauce was decent, but I'll be honest and say I've definitely had better. I had pepperoni with mushroom pie that was really good and would try again if ever in the area. I've driven by this place so many times and yet never tried it out. The little plaza it's in is not that inviting nevertheless the food is worth stopping in for. We ordered gyro platters and a small special pizza. The gyros were very good with fresh ingredients and tasty tzatziki sauce. French fries also hit the spot, nice a crispy. This review is based on the ham and cheese sandwich and cheese pizza. So let's start with the ham and cheese sandwich, the bread is nothing to brag about feels like it might have been out all day. The contents of the sandwich were ok, the real issue I had with this sandwich was how much lettuce there was on it. There was enough lettuce on it to feed a village full of rabbits. Well I've been a customer of Pizza Pal for at least 50 years - this is the 2nd change of hands and new owner actually sucks because there is no attention to who ever is taking the orders. I ordered a chopped salad with a scoop of tuna - it is lent and I am a catholic - my "chopped" salad had ham, pepperoni and grilled chicken - what part of chopped salad with scoop of tuna describes what I got - too boot the price paid for something I never received - sorry Hanie - will never go back to Pizza Pal and and will NEVER ERVER RECOMMEND IT - I had no choice but to rate it one star but you actually need a negative 5 read more

Love this place. Pizzas are consistently good. Another review mentioned that they are Greek style and that is true; you're not going to find anything like an NY thin crust anywhere near here. That said, the hybrid between thin crust and pan pizza can be a welcome addition to any pizza rotation. I actually come here for the grinders (subs, hoagies- whatever). The bread is always fresh and crusty, and the fillings are generous. I ordered a cheeseburger grinder that was chock full of (perfectly cooked to rare) beef and desired toppings. My $12.75 grinder was worth ever penny. Additionally, I always order and then sit at the counter to enjoy a beer while my food is being prepared. Pizza Pal is not exactly about to throw their hat into the Wooster Street ring, but my experience still earns them some credit. I'm just not a big fan of thicker crust pizza. Though usually it's because the final product is a giant slice of dense bread with a smattering of cheese and sauce. Ugh... drives me nuts. But applaud Pizza Pal for at least getting their proportions right. They put a LOT of cheese on their pies here, enough to generally warrant the thicker-than-average crust below it. That said, I wish the crust was a little less dense, and the cheese less burnt [Burnt crust is good, cheese... not so much], but they're still a thumbs up in my book. I strolled in a solid 90 minutes after they ordinarily stop serving slices (3PM), but they happened to have 2 left, which were warmed up and served promptly to me. $6 and change for two hefty slices and a Snapple. I have very mixed opinions on this place. The first time I ordered I got a Greek salad to go and they gave me no dressing. I've done calzone takeouts for my boyfriends mother that she liked. I actually sat down for the first time tonight.. I guess their salads are premade asking for no celery was a big deal but they had no problem accommodating it. I asked for two dressings and they forgot one- but the time they came out with the around my meal was ready. I got a hot ham and cheese grinder with extra meat which looked like this picture... I'd hate to see what it looks like with plain meat. It was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted. My boyfriend however got a Philly steak wrap which was so good and the fries were amazing!! Great cozy place! The workers are always extremely friendly. Their deep dish pizza is the best I've had in the entire state. I've never had a bad experience here, and consistency is important to me. Everything from the chicken parm to the subs to the wings are quality! The mozzarella sticks are TO DIE FOR! We have only been here once and I love that they are playing Christmas music. It is very nice that they are in the holiday spirit. There is Christmas lights up. Very beautiful. But their prices are very high and I am not use to paying over $16.00 for a cheese pizza. I am used to paying between $12.50-$13.50 for a large cheese pizza. For a 1 topping pizza it is $19.00. The price of their drinks are reasonable for $2.35 with free refills. Their chef salad is not priced to high ($11.50) but I usually pay max $9.95. But the chef salad is worth the price. Great food, nice staff. This is our go-to pizza joint when we are too lazy to make dinner. I usually get a salad, which are always fresh and accompanied by bread which is also always fresh. My husband gets pizza or a calzone, and it comes piping hot and delicious. Sometimes we will split a grinder for lunch, they are big enough to fill us both up. But the best thing on the menu is the mozzarella sticks. They are ginormous!! I'm perfectly happy with two or three cheese sticks and a side salad for dinner. Yum!! read more

Great food and great service. Amazing wings. My brothers and I are from out of town and were trying to find a casual place to meet and just talk. We arrived and sat in the dining area to the right of the main entrance. We were greeted by a friendly server who made us feel welcomed. The 3 of us ordered and the food came out nice and hot and tasty!!! We sat and talked and just caught up on life. The server cleaned the table and let us know we could sit and talk as long as we wanted. What the server didn't know is that we needed this time to chat. Losing our mom has been hard and anytime we can spend together is a Godsend. I feel bad we never got her name but if anyone is reading review this please let her know how much we appreciate her service and allowing us to sit and talk. It's a gift of time we all appreciated. I decided to order pizza from here since it had been many years since I last had pizza from here, So I did take out on a Friday night. I called around 7:05pm to place my order a small cheese pizza under the name Alex. After leaving work I go there to pick it up and when I get to the counter I tell them my name and what I ordered and they told me that we do not have a small cheese pizza under the name Alex, the man behind the counter asked me if I called pizza palace but I read him the phone number on a piece of paper I had and It was their phone number. I thought was odd that they did not have my pizza there when I came to pick it up, so the cook asked me if I wanted him to make it now and wait 15 minutes and I said yes because I had the choice of waiting there or waiting for another pizza parlor to make it so why not just get it here. I got the pizza and was charged $9.31 which I feel is alot for a small cheese pizza. The pizza was good but not worth what I paid so I probably won't be returning here. read more

I've been eating at Pizza Pal for many years now. However, that all changed tonight. I took my family there for dinner for my son's birthday. There were 9 of us. We ordered several pizzas and some apps. We also ordered 2 - 2 liters of soda. When the bill came, they had charged us $11.00 for 2 bottles of soda. I questioned them assuming this was definitely an error. But it wasn't. They charge $5.50 per 2 liter bottle of soda. They admitted they charge double if you buy a 2 liter and eat there. It's $2.50 if you get it to go. That is ridiculous!! I spoke with the man that I believe is the owner and expressed my shock at the price. I just spent $150 on dinner. I thought for sure he would at least offer to do something -- he didn't. He argued with me. So for $11 he just lost 9 customers. read more
