This is my 2nd time ordering my GF pizza from here and its very very good. GF pizza can be a hit or miss but this one was perfect, its just cheesy and full of flavor. yup. I ate it all!! I ordered a grinder for my dad , his grinder had nice piece of chicken cutlet in there with ham, lettuce, tomato and sauce . He was satisfied with it and also enjoyed the complimentary slice of buffalo chicken pizza. it has the perfect amount of toppings on the pizza also. For Mondays, cant beat the Monday deals by the way. The. slices are huge and I heard those garlic knots are addicting!! Family/ owner that works at the pizzeria are all so friendly and nice! This spot has been a rotating pizza place since we moved to Newington and we're glad that they've moved in! Some great NY style pizza with huge slices and delicious pizzas. This is our go to spot and their service is great. Everything is priced well. The crust is thin and crispy with a lot of different combinations of toppings. Margherita (classic) - Everything you're looking for in the classic pizza. Gooey cheese with the classic flavors. Phonenix Special (onions, peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, hamburger) - A fantastic variety of vegetables and meat. Together, the combo works well but the hamburger was unseasoned by itself. Melanzana (White pizza with eggplant, spinach, ricotta) - Crispy breaded thin eggplant slices. (One of my favorites). Bacon Mashed Potatoes - had lots of great bite sized bacon pieces, I personally would pass on the mashed potatoes (too mushy for me to put on pizza). Tomato Basil (Basil tomatoes, garlic, shredded mozzarella, olive oil) - similar to the margherita but less saucy and more tomato! read more

We recently moved nearby and couldn't be happier with this unassuming gem. It's family owned and it feels like home! So here I am, reviewing a new pizza place, in the Center of Newington, next to the Starbucks. Bobby D. is one of the first reviewers. Doesn't feel familiar at all. Wink emoji. Phoenix Pizzeria opened about two weeks ago. The immediate prior pizza place didn't last very long there at all. Pizza is dead. Long live pizza, I guess. I'm always curious about the new pizza places that open in this space and I have to say that I think Phoenix is one of the more promising ones. I visited to give Phoenix my slice test, and they had numerous pizzas by the slice that included Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Ranch, Thick Sicilian with just sauce and cheese, Meat Lovers and what I ordered -- the House Special. I was impressed with the House Special with sliced sausage, spinach, mozzarella and the star of the show for me, a very spicy pizza sauce. The sauce had an arrabbiata vibe and I thought it was great. I couldn't tell if the sausage was also hot, but I liked the overall flavor. The crust was thin and well managed. I know that's welcome news for the people always searching for area thin crust spots. Service was friendly. When I said it was my first time, the person who seemed like an owner offered two tasty garlic knots. I can't remember giving a pizza place Five Stars based on a slice, but I'm doing it for Phoenix. We got the meat lovers pizza and the small bruschetta. Everyone in the house loved it. The bruschetta was nice and crispy crust and fresh flavorful toppings. In the mood for pizza and decided to try this new place. We ordered a sausage mushroom onion and a pepperoni mushroom plus some garlic knots. The pizza was a thin crust with tasty toppings and a nice crust. I do wish there was some more sauce but otherwise we really loved it. The garlic knots were perfect and we enjoyed them all weekend especially with some homemade soup, there were plenty to go around. This is a great pizza spot the employees are very friendly and accommodating. I got the sense it was a family run business and we love supporting these kind of spots. First, my review is not on taste! The pizza was very good ! My 3 stars was based on sticker shock. The online menu prices are def wrong . My pizza was suppose to be 22? When they rang me up , it was almost 28! I don't like surprises, I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew the price. When I questioned the price difference , she said costs went up . Its delicious. My slice was crispy and flavorful, and quite large. Garlic knots weren't in a Knot shape, but were absolutely everything else you could want from them. Great pizza! Big slices! Give it a try! For those in the Newington area, you know this location has had multiple different pizza places throughout the years, none of which has survived. The primary reason was not location but quality of food. Phoenix Pizzeria is the newest to give it a go and I think they can make it for a few reasons: 1. Their pizza is very good and it is different than the other places nearby. It is a thinner crust with the right amount of toppings. You can hold the slice vertically and nothing falls off. The crust is the right level of crispy and the toppings are delicious. I've tried the chicken bacon ranch, Philly cheesesteak, Buffalo chicken, pepperoni, and Mediterranean. NOTE: they also have a thicker Sicilian slice which looked good but i did not try. 2. They sell slices. The other places nearby don't do slices, so this idea sets them apart. Their slices are big too! So if stopping by Starbucks next door or just need a quick bite, you can grab a slice or two and a Fleri k and be on your way in 5 mins or less. 3. They have garlic knots and they are great! 4. The owners are very nice and eager to do well. Overall there are a lot of pizza places nearby but Phoenix is a new place worth trying because you will like it. It a little different in style of pizza and being able to get a slice vs a whole pizza is a great thing too. read more

The employees are lovely and the pizza is so good! I got a mozz and basil slice and it was so delicious- the dough has a very good crunch but was very doughy inside! The pizza dough seems to be fresh, but they are using pans instead of freeform, and the bottoms of the pizza crust get a bit too cardboard- like for my liking. The sauce is nice, and they do not skimp on the toppings. All in all, pretty decent pizza. I've been to this location under all of its former iterations many times, and all of them offered garlic knots, which were amazing. These looked fantastic, but they were way too chewy, and had absolutely no garlic whatsoever. They were bread knots, to be sure, but were bland, chewy, and frankly disappointing. read more

Phoenix Pizzeria is a newly opened family owned pizza restaurant in the starbucks plaza on mainstreet. They sell full pizzas or pizza slices which when you go in for a slice you're in and out within 5 minutes. there are a variety of slices to choose from and the slices are fairly large but thin. i'm very pleased with my pizza because ever since stretches closed, none of the places have met my expectations but this place sure did. not to mention they through in a few garlic knots to try and they were very good. food was flavorful and delicious! i recommend! read more
