Possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. Soggy (after 5 minute car ride home) and practically raw in the middle. Very disappointing.

Tommy's has some finger licking good pizza! I tried their veggie pizza w/o the olives & onions. The bottom of the crust has that little crunch to it that I always look for. The pizza sauce is also nice & flavourful. The toppings tasted as if they were just sliced/chopped, instead of sitting in a container of their own juices. I was actually a little late in picking up the pizza & it was still hot & had some great cheese pull. I wish they delivered to my town, but they are definitely worth the 15min drive. I look forward to trying more of their pizzas & also try out the grinders. read more

Tommy's is a great place to get Pizza! Their hoagies also look massive and make for delicious garlic bread. They do offer Gluten free pizza. Their sauce is tasty as well. I went there today and ordered a large pizza with bacon onion and extra cheese. It was so overcooked I only had two pieces and tossed the rest. Not a bad pizza place, but not fabulous either. The pizza was a little overdone, but still tasted okay because of all the gooey cheese. I actually don't mind pizza that's a little browned on top. If you're looking for thin crust New Haven style pizza or New York style pizza, this isn't your place. The crust at Tommy's was thick and chewy, but it did have a bit of crunch to it. Perhaps other menu items are better than the pizza. I liked the Greek-style idea they have going on here, but the interior leaves something to be desired. weird. i thought i wrote a review about this place and i got an email from Yelp HQ that one of my photos of Tommy's was inappropriate and being removed. So, I have no idea what ll that is about but I do remember the pizza I had when I was here, and you can even see it in my photos - two old reheated slices wrapped in foil. no box. unwrap the foil and a majority of the cheese sticks to the foil. sad slice. I also remember the flies. Oh yes, the flies buzzing around were quite annoying. I wanted to like this place, but the slice was unremarkable. I shop at the neighboring IGA often and would love to have a nearby go-to slice place, but this is not it. Maybe better if you go for pies. Tommy's shares a large parking lot in a strip mall with IGA and a bunch of other stores i dont remember. Noise level: Quiet, nobody is ever here. Good For: Cleaning out your intestines. read more

Tommy's has the Best Pizza Ever! I've tried other Pizzas but Tommy's my has the best Pizza and texture flavor hands down! Billy is now making homemade soup stews daily so call and ask for the soup of the day..,They have also have made their own dressing and it's selling like gang busters, So if you want something different and you buy Pizza and Salad from Tommy's get a bottle of dressing,and you can use it for other things and it's very good! Before I moved to New Haven when I craved pizza, I really craved Tommy's Pizza. I worked there for almost the entirety of my senior year of high school and I loved it! They have a reputation for only hiring good-looking girls for the prep/waitstaff and a guy or two for delivery... people in town used to go to Tommy's just to check out the "Tommy's Girls" :-p They also have a reputation for being one of the only places in town that delivers and for being one of the higher-priced places. People come anyway. And why? Because their sauce is awesome! It's deliciously sweet and silky and a lot of people like pizza sauce on their pasta & grinders instead of the marinara (which is also quite tasty). The pizza toppings are fresh and numerous. And for a real treat, dip that crust into their house dressing! Yum! I haven't had their pastas in a while, but I remember them being tasty. The meatballs are wonderful and hand made and they have some of the tastiest grinders in town. Just beware the veal parm... it tends to be tough. Then again, when I was in Italy it was pretty tough too, so maybe it's "authentic" (even though it's a greek restaurant), but nonetheless not the most pleasing. But Tommy's gets five stars for putting up with me, for loving me and for feeding me. read more

The pizza is just south of average. The grinders are somewhat good but extremely over priced. Delivery and takeout orders always seem to get mixed up. Simply put.. Tommy's is terrible! Don't get me wrong, but Tommy's pizza is to die for. I have been living in Portland since 1970 and Tommy's opened in 1968. The pizza's have not changed in over 40 years. If you were to go back to Tommy's to relive the experience you expeienced in the 70's, the sense of atmosphere would be like, you never left The newly added Bugers are a different story. Lets see if I can make this clear. The buns are oversized, the burgers are over sized (not allowing them to be cooked evenly. The lettuce used in the sandwich is too big. and when you have to have 2 slices of tomatoe to cover the sandwich, it is just TOO big. But the accompanying French Fries or Onion Rings are perfectly cooked. I need THREE hands to be able to eat teh burger correctly. It got so hard to eat, I had to relagate eating it by knife and fork. Stopped in several months ago and had a meat lovers pizza, it was amazing so we thought we would try it again only this time as a takeout. It just wasn't the same. We called in an order on Monday for a large meatball and a large sausage grinder(s) with a large Cesar salad. I thought I misunderstood the person on the phone as saying that the total was $50.62. Their menu on line showed pricing at $13.95 per grinder and $9.95 for the salad which came to $37.85 before tax. Upon walking in the register already was showing $50.62. When I questioned the difference of the price online I was told that online had old pricing; since a lot of people check out the menu on line one would think Tommy's would keep the pricing current and especially given the current circumstances. The waitress was borderline rude and handed me my change and a new pricing menu from the counter. Seems each grinder went up $3 each and the salad went up $2. It appears that on top of the tax we were charged a percentage for paying cash!To top it off the meatball grinder was not meatballs but looked like it was slices of meatloaf with really not much flavor; (actually had intestinal issues from consuming.) ; the sausage grinder was okay. Never try and order anything for delivery, for one, the woman they put on the phone/cashier because she can't do much else. Foreign born and does not understand the English language with any degree of professionalism. Plus the phone system that they have in place has a lot to be undesirable. Connection keeps kicking in and out. Took me 3 minutes to spell out my street address, where every letter had to be spoken, and understood. now if you go to this establishment, the food is average, and at least edible. read more

I have been coming here for years now. For one, I absolutely loveeeee and I mean LOVE their house dressing! I am a picky picky eater, so for me, someone who will only eat ranch dressing anywhere, is alot! I will drive from Cromwell just to get a salad just because I want the dressing! Haha! They are a small family run buisness that does a wonderful job. The family is sweet as pie! I always get my food in good time, and although some may say it is pricey, its not! The quality of food is well worth it! I will forever love this place! The waitresses are super friendly... BACK TO FOOD! I love the pasta sauce .. it has enough flavor but not too much to overpower. Add some parm. Cheese and mmm mmm mmmmmm . The ravioli's, delicious. The grinders they never go slim on. The menu is great. If you want to support the business of a womanizing pig, by all means, eat here! (Keep in mind, I'm basing this review off of one horrible experience. I will not return, therefore I can't vouch for this guy's behavior on other days). Seriously- Bill, the owner, treats his female workers like he's Chris Brown and the workers are Rihanna. I ate here the other day, and for the life of me, could not enjoy my meal because this guy incessantly screamed at the poor girls behind the counter. I'd like to add, by the way, that the girls provided excellent service and I have no complaints about them whatsoever. I took care to get this guy's name from another customer- he must have been a regular. The meal was OK. Basic deep dish pizza, eh. For the prices, I expected a higher quality of ingredients. The bread was basic and bread-like, the salad was basic and salad-like, and nothing was extraordinary. But I'm not going to beat a dead horse here. I would not recommend this restaurant for families with children, unless of course you want your kiddos to learn some of Bill's choice vocabulary. In all, this is a basic Greek pizza joint. Went here with my family after a fun day at Brownstone park. The water drained us out and we were super hungry, thankfully the food portions at Tommys were huge and filled us all up, we even left with a bunch of leftovers! The staff was beyond friendly and even though the place was packed we got our food super fast. I noticed the other reviews complaining about the prices, honestly the prices might be a bit more then at other places but it's worth it due to the quality of the food. My friend I decided to split a grinder tonight, when we walked into Tommy's, the three girls working there stood in a group behind the counter giving us dirty looks. After about a minute of us just standing there, one girl walked over and rang us up, stifling laughter.
