**NESm **NEW** Sm Mashed Potato Pie

I love their mashed potato pizza! We did take out and it was still crispy by the time we got home.. as you can see there's a good amount of bacon on top too.

It was a Sunday afternoon (8/16/20), family from NY area in-bound from a long trying visit with the elderly in-laws. Good food paramount, excellent pizza absolutely necessary for the NYC Pie Aficionados!!! Joey's to the rescue! My daughter researches the options, we debate, diverse group and even more diverse tasty"piebuds". I learned Joey's now serves a mean Detroit style pie - BAM! Dealz dun Brudda. A regular Grandma's pie, a large Gary and Mary's Garden, a Detroit Red Top pie, and last but definitely not least, a thick Detroit White "cakepie". The Detroit's are typically small square (or if you're lucky rectangular) thick crust pies, they out rival the Chicago varieties. All four pies were heavenly and graced with many compliments, especially from our four NYC pie snobs! The regular pie great. The Detroit's a completely different beast: toppings tend to be the same, the crusts thick and if done well crispy with a heavy serving of "its not good for you" oily presence. Each little square nearly bite size, but if you control yourself, two or three eye-rolling bites. The Bro-in-law and I had been spoiled by true Detroit pie at Buddy's in Detroit (search and read that review), if you're there, you have to go!!! In comparison, Joey's is truly a runner-up for an out of towner, which by local standards is far above any other challengers in CT. Go ahead, invite me over and proven me wrong.

I ordered these carbs for delivery and was definitely satisfied! - garlic bread with cheese - eggplant parmesan with linguine: the sauce was not too sweet and was the right amount . Loved the amount of melted parmesan and the eggplant was crispy. The portion sizes are huge and you will definitely have leftovers for days (not a bad thing)

    Grilled chicken Caesar wrap

Ordered grilled chicken Caesar wrap dressing on the side with side of sweet potato fries for the extra 2$, 16$ for soggy fries, tiny wrap and the side dressing was teriyaki, hardly any chicken. Definitely will not order again, also had the shrimp scampi, barely any shrimp, just ok. I'll stick to their pizza for now on which is a 4.5.

    Chicken bacon ranch pizza!!

A small pizza restaurant with big flavor. This is a great little spot to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch especially if you are limited on top like I am. (30 min lunch) they sell pizza by the slice. They had a nice selection of beer and wine. (I'll have to go back when I'm not at work and grab some.) I got their chicken bacon ranch pizza and it's delicious. I recommend it if they're not sold out.

    Pizza by the Slice!

They now offer pizza by the slice!! I was able to score a free slice so I ordered a few more slices and a cheese steak. I got a slice of the regular pepperoni, and Sicilian pesto chicken (might have been a special) and veggie. I love these new Sicilian-style pizzas! The veggie was my favorite because it had some yummy breaded eggplant pieces on it. The cheese steak as always was great! I did curb side pick up and there was a bit of a wait, but the person who brought my order out apologized and mentioned how busy it was that day.

This is fantastic pizza. Recently moved to Farmington from the new haven area. Been going to Naples but wanted to try something new. First time I got the Detroit Motor City. Tremendous. Will be coming back to try their thin crust.

Always nice to treat myself to a large Spinach Patch pizza. It's nice to find New Haven style in West Hartford.

I purchased the meatball salad. The meatballs were very good but the salad was horrible, the cucumbers and red peppers were soggy in 2 days.

Is it cheap? No! Is it worth it? Absolutely! You will never want boxed pasta from your local grocery store ever again. They also now have desserts and I loved the personal size fruit tart, and oh the to go with your coffee in the morning is a must try! The fillings of the ravioli change with the seasons, and the lemon in the summer and the truffle are amazing when it's truffle season! I literally did not even think I liked truffle until I tried this ravioli, and then I realized it was the fake truffle oil that restaurants put on truffle fries that I hated the smell of, which is nothing at all like the actual taste and scent of a real truffle that is not overpowering or stinky. Lol The owners are the sweetest and are always present, and I am so proud to see how many places are now using their pasta for their dishes. The space is clean, and I am so excited that they are actually opening a second location in Glastonbury! I can't say enough good things so if you haven't given them a try yet, add it to your must do list!

We'd had some similar vittles in a fancy New York restaurant, and the tab here was one tenth what we spent there. For my money, the food was just as good. Of course, the place in the city had a much different atmosphere and level of service, and if that's what you want then you expect to pay for it. At New England Pasta Company, you pay for the food. They get a lot of their stuff from local sources. My wife had the quiche of the day, and it was the first time in years that I'd tasted a real quiche, not those rubbery things that other places dish up. I had the pasta of the day, which was ricotta stuffed ravioli in an Alfredo sauce. It was fantastic. I saw other people eating sandwiches and salads. Everything looked delicious and generous. My beverage was watermelon limeade. It was very refreshing and not too sweet. For dessert, we had something called a ganache bar or something like that. Think of a slab of fudge with a graham cracker crust. It was very hard work finishing it, but I wasn't going to leave any behind. We took home a lasagna with meatballs and sausage. It was very good, as was the coconut wonder bar we pounded down on top of it. I'm not sure we'd drive there just for food, but if we're ever in the neighborhood we'll certain snag something to bring home. By the way, don't confuse this with Truffles, which is in the back. They are completely separate.

My favorite purchases were the fresh cut egg linguine and the Ritz-based stuffed cod. The fresh linguine cooks in a minute and the texture just hits different in the best possible way. The cod was nice and firm and the Ritz stuffing was crazy delicious. I also liked the Chicken Francaise. You can't really compare it to restaurant quality Francaise because it's specifically made to be re-heated and eaten later. With this in mind, I though that the small chicken pieces and lemon sauce were very solid. My other purchases included clam chowder and Tuna Mac Salad with peas. The Tuna Mac was pretty good. It wouldn't be in regular rotation for me, but I'd get it once in a while. The clam chowder was my least favorite, but I respect that New England Pasta seemed to go for something different. The texture was good and it had plenty of clams and potato. But it tasted like it had a little blue cheese flavor. I can't say for sure that they used blue cheese, but the chowder definitely had something different that gave it this vibe. For me, this flavor was a bit too assertive. I don't live near New England Pasta, but if I did, I would visit once in a while. Four Stars
