We tried two pizzas and a dessert, and every bite was a pleasant surprise. The pizza crust is a standout--chewy in the best way, with a satisfying texture and flavor that doesn't rely on toppings to carry it. It's not dry or bland like you sometimes get at quick-serve spots; this was clearly crafted with care. The sauce hits a great balance--neither overly sweet nor harshly acidic--providing a smooth, savory backdrop for the toppings. We ordered two varieties: pepperoni and mushroom. The pepperoni itself was average in quality, but it was spread generously and evenly, and the overall composition of the pizza made it work. Nothing felt skimped, and the proportion of crust to topping was spot on. The mushroom pizza was even better--made with fresh mushrooms (not canned!), giving it a noticeably better flavor and texture. We'd absolutely order that one again. And then... the churros. These weren't your standard sugar-dusted fare. They were bite-sized, crispy, and stuffed with caramel--basically little golden miracles. Addictive is an understatement. On previous visits I've arrived based on the quoted ready time only to end up waiting significantly longer. It hasn't stopped me from coming back because the pizza is consistently worth it, but I'd recommend giving yourself a little extra time if you're ordering for pickup. An easy Lyft ride away , Bella's was everything I could've asked for. Located in a neat row of shops , the restaurant was bright , clean and welcoming . The owner , in house and at the counter , welcomed me . I'm from Arizona and visiting Montreal for the summer , but falling short of finding "that" pizza . Well , I found it at Bella's . I ordered my "must have" toppings , roasted garlic and onions ( on the 12 inch pie ) at the counter , along with a can of soda , all for a very fair $20.00 . The owner brought the pie to my table within 10-15 minutes or so , and OMG , what a pie it was . As you can see from my foto , the pizza looked beautiful . What you can't see is its splendid aroma and a taste the appropriate gods would give 10/10 heavenly stars. OK , I'm being a bit schmaltzy , but this was "the" pizza I'd been craving. This pie had the perfect crispness , the roasted garlic , onions and cheese were fresh and abundant without being over kill. I like to savor my food , so I took my time , bit by bit , slice by slice . It was the perfect final meal to enjoy before heading off to Boston's Logan Airport , sated to the max , and beyond . As an aside , which they literally were , condiments , were easily accessible on a countertop by the soda/dessert coolers. Because I'm one of "those people" who like to eat a pie with a fork and knife , so that I can savor instead of gobble , my only recommendation to the powers that be here is to replace the plastic cutlery with stainless steel , as the pizza is so oven hot when brought to table , that the plastic tines of the fork don't hold up to the heat , enough said . The owner was most gracious , coming over to my table asking how the pie was , my smile giving away my total satisfaction with the food and the restaurant ( nothing fancy , but clean , serviceable and welcoming ) . Be forewarned though , head for Bella's only if you want the best pizza around.
