Cactus bread. I didn't stage it very well for this photo op.

Mixed review time! Today was my first time trying Pizza Ranch. We ordered take out on a whim after going to Meijer which is basically in the same parking lot. We ordered a deal which consisted of a large pizza, cheesy bread sticks, cactus bread, and I also got 5 chicken strips. It all came out to about $40 which is what I would gladly pay at Jets or somewhere local maybe. The pizza: So I didn't try it. My family said it was 0/10, a $5 Hot and Ready would have been better. They were not pleased. The cheese sticks were pretty good. Jet's cheese sticks are still better. I give those a 5/10. The chicken strips were pretty delicious. 8/10. I'm giving the cactus bread a 15/10. Remember back in the old days when Papa John's had dessert pizza? This is better than that. This is worth breaking my weight watchers. This is the reason I will not meet my fitness goals in 2022. Okay okay jk. Maybe I'll start Orange Theory so I can eat Cactus bread every week. Who knows. I'm just so thrilled to have this dessert near me.

Achh. Hard review to post because people obviously liked the food. We ordered ahead and upon entering saw most tables were not bussed, and those that were basically just had a wet rag run over them. Patrons, including me, were cleaning their own tables. Pic 2 shows tables next to us as they were when we entered. 20 minutes later, a girl cleared the dishes away, ran a wet rag over half the table and left it there. She had not returned by the time we left 25 minutes later. Pic 4 Management needs to step up in a big way. There are enough employees, but they aren't trained/overseen in their prospective roles well enough. None knew the address here, even though the address is at the top of every receipt. Continuing this review after several days of thinking about how to write it, I believe this is an owner problem. Either he/she isn't knowledgeable about restaurant management, or he/she is absent, trusting a manager who isn't doing the job. The windows, floors, tables all needed cleaning, but employees were standing around talking at the kitchen without direction as to what needed to be done. As a former restaurant owner, I truly hope the owner gets the message before business heads downhill. The pizza itself looked really good, and it was. We got a Sweet Swine with red onion.

Doebs has become my favorite slice of pizza I've ever had. The lunch combo is amazing value and hits the spot perfectly. The slice itself is airy and crisp. Very nice cheese pull from the first bite and not excessively oily. Perfectly topped with marinara more sauce that brings a beautiful balance to such a simple dish. The service here is 10/10. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff members and made to feel as if I was a regular. They explained the specials clearly and friendly and enticed me to get the lunch special which is well worth it. The vibe in the restaurant is similar to being in your own living room surrounded by friends and family. I ate by myself but I didn't feel alone in the restaurant. Everyone was talking and having a good time the music in the background was nice and you can hear genuine laughs coming from the kitchen. It's always nice to see happy staff members making delicious food. I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to return to Michigan but if I do this is a must hit spot. Thank you Doebs for ruining square slices for me, I doubt I'll find anything else to compete in my near future.

The crust reminded me of those crunchy Asiago cheese crusts and packed a great flavor AND crunch. Their ranch was blah (tasted like oil instead of actual buttermilk), but I didn't really need it because the pizza was so good, so I'll give that a pass instead of downgrading to 4 stars for dip. I really want to try to hand tossed next time, loaded up with pepperoni to see if it looks like those super crunchy styles I see on Insta. Next time for sure... or maybe I'll just get the Angry Little Crybaby Italian again. The guys at the counter were very nice.

I recommend getting an appetizer and pizza if you go as those are very good. Great drinks too! I love their outdoor seating in the summer! Definitely make sure to check out if you're looking for a good downtown dinner spot in Holland!

This restaurant's manager tried to gaslight an old(er) man into believing Eagle Rare Rye was Eagle…read moreRare Bourbon instead of paying for his staff's mistake! Here's the full story: My Dad loves his Bourbon. He ordered "Eagle Rare Bourbon neat" and specifically said, "not the Rye". Well when he takes his first sip, Dad immediately knows it is the Rye. Unfortunately, the waiter already walked away. He passed the glass around, and everyone at the table agreed to the best of their knowledge that it is a Rye. I've had both. It tastes like the Rye. When the waiter comes back, he apologies and goes back to get the Bourbon. This time, he comes back with a small tasting glass to make sure Dad wants the Bourbon. He drinks it, confirms this one is the Bourbon, and the waiter is on his way. So far, good customer service! Except, the waiter doesn't come back with the proper drink. Next, the manager comes back and explains he "watched the video footage and confirmed the bartender did not touch the Eagle Rare Rye bottle, therefore the original drink must be the Bourbon". Nope! No no no no no. My Dad tasted both, and they are definitely not from the same bottle! After the manager walked away, I smelled the empty tasting glass and the original Rye glass and 100% confirmed for myself that the liquor in each glass was different! You aren't going to gaslight my nose and my Dad's much more experienced taste buds! Either the manager was lying about reviewing video footage, he reviewed footage from the wrong timeframe, or the original Rye wasn't even from Eagle Rare but some other bottle the manager wasn't looking at. He did NOT confirm that the footage showed the bartender poring Eagle Rare Bourbon the first time. Anyways, we were too polite to make a fuss at the time, but I'm finally taking the time to write this review. Who reviews video footage (or worse, lies about doing so) over a single drink dispute? Who looks an old(er) man dead in the face and claims his taste buds are deceiving him? I'm very disappointed by the behavior of that manager.
