I can't believe we've never eaten here before. Great value and selection at Pizza Ranch's Buffet! We walked in and were greeted with a smile. The cost for the buffet was about $16 for adults with tax and kids eat free in Tuesday. At the counter they asked what are favorite pizza is and informed us they would make a small size of that and offer it to our table first to ensure everyone gets something they like. Excellent customer service! In addition to a personalized pizza, there is fruit, salad, plethora of other pizzas, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, potato wedges and Mac n cheese. For dessert there are different dessert pizzas and serve yourself ice cream. Drinks are included and bottomless with a serve yourself soft drink station. Everything was clean and well managed. The space was clean and it was busy. We had a great first experience and plan to come back again in the near future. read more

I decided to pick up a pizza here since Balsam Drive is closed, beyond which is my usual Pizza Hut carry out. I probably won't come back the pizza had little flavor and I suspect the crust was not hand tossed. There were little holes near the crust edge sort of like the holes you see in saltine crackers. This is a review of the Pizza Ranch in Hudsonville, Michigan. I'd never been there before. The only two things I heard about them: 1. It's quite dirty. This information is from other reviews and hearsay. 2. My sister-in-law went there with friends and then came across our attorney in the "private room," after his secretary said he was sick on the same day that we were supposed to meet with him. I was craving fried chicken and heard good reports about Pizza Ranch in Hudsonville, Michigan, apart from the above. I went in to the cashier's counter and asked to buy a take-out order. She showed me the stacks of plastic containers and said I could get 2 pieces of chicken or 2 slices of pizza, with 2 side orders. That's fine, I said. It's a buffet style restaurant. I waited around for perhaps 10 minutes for the new fried chicken to appear. While waiting, I saw the pizzas they were serving (pretty bad-looking). I also witnessed other customers looking for something good to eat and finally scooping up a piece of pizza or filth off the floor. Finally, the fried chicken appeared, courtesy of a teenager employee. Most of the employees there at this time were teenagers; you can't blame them for serving crappy food. They have no control over the food they serve. Anyway, I grabbed two crappy pieces of chicken and some sides and got my butt out of there. Bunch of bones and even the breading had no flavor. Someone must be to blame. Pretty funny, overall. I pretty much chucked it all into the front yard, where opossums and raccoons love to eat stuff. I swear, wild animals love to eat cooked food. Maybe 10 years ago, I came upon an opossum snuffling up cat food for Black Kittie, and he went, "Snuff, snuff, snoo!" I can't replicate the sound he made, but it was quite intimidating. He then trundled off. Don't go there unless you do the all you can eat buffet and prepare to nibble around the bones and go back to the buffet again and again and again. The Fried Chicken is amazing! I never cared for buffets and when someone said these guys had the best fried chicken I didn't believe it. He took me and have been a loyal customer since. This is our FAVORITE pizza ranch. Seriously -always good and always fresh. We went to another PR and it was a disaster -but the pizza ranch in Hudsonville knocks it out of the park EVERY TIME! (Also, Mike is the best waiter!) My only complaint would be there wasn't any decaf coffee left and I asked the waitress if it could be refreshed. She said she would check and then came back out and told me no -just to clarify it was only halfway through the day so I was a little confused. But overall, everything else was great. My fav choices: Taco pizza Chicken bacon ranch pizza Cheeseburger pizza And I really like the Buffalo ranch I tried today! The salad bar here is A #1 with many things to choose from for your own salad design. The chicken here is always fresh and hot the side vegetables are always a winner. We arrived at 7 when they were closing at 8. Host was generous and nice. Kids pay 99 cents x age (12 and younger) Ice cream machine (chocolate flavor) was down. But vanilla was still working so we were ok. Food was abundant and hot still an hour before closing. They were still refilling most items up until 7:30. Pizza ranch has been a go to in our family for yeaaars. We love their mashed potatoes and gravy, juicy crispy chicken, and of course the cactus bread. As for the pizza itself, it's nothing to drive home. We are a little bummed out about the price of the buffet seemingly always going up, but that doesn't keep us away long before we're craving it all over again. The tables could definitely be wiped off a little better ;) they always seem to be sticky, crumby, and just kinda yucky. I made an online purchase at 3:10 with a 20 minute wait time. As I was walking through the door there was a trio behind me and I overheard one saying that that's the guy that is gonna give us a free meal. I approach the register first and was asked to step aside because he wanted to help the elderly trio which I didn't mind at all. He did indeed charge them for 2 people as opposed to 3. Afterwards another elderly couple simply walked right past me not knowing i was in line and started to order. I was hoping the employee would tell them that I have been waiting but didn't so I took a deep breath and let them go. Once they were done another elderly trio standing behind me assumed I was already being helped started to move forward. I stepped in front of them and was about to approached the register when I was rudely asked, "are you ready to order" I simply stated I've been waiting on my food and got in front if me in which they guy simply took their order as of I wasn't even there. Why didn't he tell them that I was actually ahead all three groups rather than me telling the elderly groups and looking disrespectful towards them even though I had every right. At that point I've pretty much had it and another lady came to assist in another register. I simply asked for my money back and left. I just couldn't believe what transpired and no longer want to eat at that establishment. I'm not one to bring race into it but I am an Asian male and i feel this type of stuff is becoming all too common. The Pizza Ranch had the best chicken and pizza buffet. The chicken is crispy and juicy. I'm not a fan of eating chicken on the bone but I chow down here. They make homemade stuffing and mashed potatoes with green beans or corn. And the pizza buffet. They'll make you a specialty pizza and bring it to your table. At the buffet. I know!! It's amazing. We are very familiar with this Pizza Ranch location and over the last few years after their remodel and expansion, we were loyal customers. In the last 6 months, it has deteriorated dramatically. We keep giving it just one more chance but tonight was so disappointing that we do not plan to return. The same pathetic pizzas were sitting on the buffet when we came and still there when we left. When we pay over $29 for 2 seniors for a meal, we expect better. The restaurant itself does not look clean, service is poor, and the buffet is definitely not well stocked. It was quite empty so I suspect that word has gotten out that what was once an excellent place to dine is now a total rip-off! read more

This used to be such a great place to go with a family. We visited 10/5/22 at 4:45. The floors were filthy. Food everywhere. The tables were piled high with previous diners plates. And then we saw a staff member wiping tables down with a very dirty rag. I can't imagine the seats have been deep cleaned in months. read more

Okay this is a "Pizza Buffet" so if you go in expecting that you wont be disappointed. The pizza is good, as is the salad bar. The Salad bar could use some better lettuce, and a very more toppings, to choose from. They pizzas were all fresh and kept well stocked with new ones so you never had to grab a slice that had been sitting there for to long. The best thing on the "buffet line" is the fried chicken. When I walked in I was seated in a area that had food all over the floors all the tables were dirty and cups and plates everywhere. Half the food was missing. salad was brown and soggy. no soup. So then I asked for more soup. I then waited 20 mins and nothing. I then got up and went to ask for soup AGAIN they told me their was miscommunication?. One of our favorite places to eat in hudsonville. They have a great all you can eat chicken and pizza buffet. Great assortment of different pizza types, even dessert pizza. The service is great, my 6 yr old son wanted ice cream and even though they don't offer it, they brought out some especially for my son on two separate occations. The night we went was a bad night for us to judge because they were very busy and only had 3 people working!! The food was not kept coming and it was quite dirty but when we found out there were only 3 people working (all young kids) we understood. It was also the smallest Pizza Ranch my husband and I have ever been to. There was only 1 food line! The ones we usually go to have at least 4! They did have most of the great food as other Pizza Ranches minus the ice cream machine. The food was amazing so that made it worth it. I haven't been to a Pizza Ranch in probably a decade and in South Dakota. I saw a sign off the highway and couldn't believe it! It didn't know they came this east! I came into town too late for dinner, but planned on checking it out for nostalgia sake. It was decently busy around 7:15pm on a Wednesday. Soup was never refilled, employees slowly but surely refilled the salad bar, pizza bar was replaced as needed, and whoever worked the chicken station, never let that thing go down. He worked diligently and rotated the product and the chicken is super yummy. Lots of teen employees running around, clumping and chatting, and priority was definitely their break! One guy even cut another customer and me off in the pizza line to get two slices of what clearly was his favorite, and then he cut again in the chicken buffet line. He must be hungry. Without a doubt they get a free meal with their shift, because I saw more employees filling their own plate at the buffets, than actually working. The bus girl with long curlyish/wavy hair and glasses is a work horse; she constantly was filling plates and busing tables. The food? It's not what I remember from a decade ago, but neither am I. Great for a family. It was just me. And I think the Ranch part of Pizza Ranch is watching customers fill soup bowls with Ranch dressing, and sloppily so it rubs down their fingers back into the container below. I don't do buffets often, and now I'm reminded why. I'd still probably carry out chicken if I'm in the area again. So crunchy and juicy! read more

This is a 4* star review with a caveat. The food is solid. The pizza better than average but the chicken shines. It's probably the best fried chicken in West Michigan. It gets terribly busy I'm the evenings for dinner. Get there early or wait in line. It's a great for lunch takeout though. The prices are reasonable and you get plenty of food. read more
