*This review is for pizza via delivery only* For years, Vitale's was our "go to" pizza place, usually order from there 2-3 times a month. Love their sauce, and the other ingredients were top notch compared to other local pizza joints. In fact, we used to buy their pizza sauce to make our own homemade pizzas. At any rate, I'm not sure what's happened but the last several times we've ordered from Vitale's, the pizza has been very hit and miss...mostly miss, and it's mainly the crust. It's either grease filled and ends up really thin, or it's still doughy/chewy as if it's undercooked. The cheese has been really sparse as well. We kept hoping it would get better, but I've come to realize after several misses now, that this is just who they are now. Besides the pizza, let's talk about the delivery - I've lost count of how many times we've ordered their family meal deal and something was forgotten - usually a 2-liter of soda. Worse yet though was when we received a pizza where nearly an entire half of the pizza cheese had slid all the way to the other side of the pizza and quite a bit slid off the pizza entirely. It's as if the delivery driver had it sitting at a 45 degree angle in the car the entire time. After tonight's delivery taking nearly an hour to arrive and then getting pizzas with grease filled crust and undercooked cheese bread that looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for an hour, I'm calling it quits on their pizza delivery. read more

Went to dinner on Wednesday with a friend to catch up. The booths we sat in were back past the bar and very uncomfortable (I guess good for posture). I ordered the Stromboli with three toppings. The first one took about 20 minutes and was solid dough on the ends. They made a new one that took about 20 minutes and was overly stuffed with toppings. Would not recommend getting that. read more

A nice Italian menu. I had the lasagna with a couple of extra meatballs, both of which were very good. The service was good. They have a section away from the bar if you want it a little quieter so it suits a variety of different people. Vitale's wins on flavor. Ate last Wednesday evening and sat at the counter. It was the dinner rush and the place was busy. I'd been here plenty before, usually for their AYCE spaghetti on Sundays (!), but this was my first pandemic visit. Tried two apps: fried mushrooms and the baked goat cheese dip. LOVED both. The mushrooms were thick sliced and kept their "meaty" mushroom flavor, and the batter was light and crispy, and didn't turn the mushroom soggy as often happens with traditional breading. And the cheese was creamy and melty and surrounded by a moat of Vitale's piping hot spaghetti sauce. The dipping bread that comes with this is firm but pliable--it holds the dip well but gives when you bite into it. Great flavor and mouth feel. My entree was Vitale's fettuccine alfredo. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente, and the sauce was creamy and perfectly balanced. And it didn't get all coagulated like the sauces at the national chains. Added in a couple of their on-tap brews and it made for a pleasant evening. And all that tasted goodness left ZERO room for dessert, but that didn't stop me from cramming in a decadent slice of Vitale's chocolate layer cake. I loved it. As far as covid protocols go, Vitale's is doing it. I got a vibe that more of the clientele here are less interested in the pandemic than is the business, so I'll admit I did feel a little more "on my own" than at other establishments. I took responsibility to keep my distance from other patrons. But certainly nobody gave me a hard time, and I was able to enjoy a fine meal. I'll be back! read more

This place continues to get worse and worse. Had a bit of a bounce back in Covid times, but the service, food quality, and costs have just continued to dip. I'm sitting here 30 minutes after a pick up order was supposed to be ready with no explanation and no hurry to fix it. Other restaurants in the area make a much better value as the prices here don't match the quality. Go somewhere else. read more

Highly Disappointed with this restaurant! We used to order frequently from this restaurant up until 1/2/2025. They changed their online ordering and it does not work! The tickets do not print for the kitchen staff to make the order then you end up waiting even longer than promised and management is not doing anything to correct the problem! This has been an ongoing issue for the past few months. Seemed like a lot of teenagers working and no adult supervision to oversee the chaos! It's the dead of winter during Covid, and we found ourselves dying for a restaurant-like experience during all of the closures. Vitales has a large patio and back portion of their restaurant they kept open, so we decided to bundle up and give it a go. Their service was great despite only having one server in the restaurant. She was friendly, prompt, and everything came out great. We all ordered pasta dishes and were pleased with the taste and the massive portions. My chicken parmesan was very thickly breaded but that and the pasta tasted pretty good. I'll be honest, I'd definitely stick to the pizza next time though. The long island was definitely mostly sour mix, but I'm guessing the quality was due to a lack of bartender during Covid closures. Lots of beers still on tap. They had little to no heat supplied at all, so you're braving the elements for sure if you check out their winter patio during any closures, but during the summer it would be lovely out there! I'd definitely check it out again when things return to normal! read more

Was in there recently Not busy but very disappointed. I paid $2.00 for a salad that wasn't very big. The best part was that when the rigatoni de casa came out it had flattened noodles that looked like ravioli. It was not fresh and was cold . I have never had a flat rigatoni noodle before. This place is always on our list. It's a local pizza shop that has my favorite pizza. They have great pastas, wraps, and paninis as well. There are a bunch of items on the menu I love. Their hot wings, chicken Marsala, and the deluxe pizza is my favorite. Right now during COVID they have set up their patio with heaters and they have a tent with some heaters. It is all first come first serve. Their staff is always amazing. I haven't had one server that was not great. Let's talk pizza. Why do I love their pizza so much? It's all about the sauce and the crust. The sauce is amazing. I don't even know how to explain it. It's a great balance of sweet and savory and I'm pretty sure there is Parmesan chunks right in it. The crust is hand tossed and the perfect thickness. Not thick not too thin. Just perfect. Oh and the fresh mushrooms! You have to ask for them because they have canned too but come on, fresh wins. It's great for families or a date night. Go here, get the pizza. Then come back and try more of their amazing items. read more

They have the BEST TACO SALAD around the Hudsonville area. It's my favorite go to meal from Vitale's when I don't feel like cooking. Their pizza is good too and so is the lunch buffett. Fresh and hot italian food selections with a nice salad bar too. Excellent I tell ya. EXCELLENT!! read more

They are an ok pizza place, but not my first choice. We tried them again to see if things have changed, but were still disappointed in the takeout. The specialty pizzas are quite good, but a standard single topping or deluxe is not well executed for some reason. We have tried them a number of times since moving to Hudsonville and have normally had good experiences when eating at the restaurant, but don't use them for takeout. Their menu has a decent variety and it is a suitable restaurant for families. Kids will be fine here. read more

Our bruschetta pizza was inedible by hand. We needed to use a fork as the toppings were just sliding off the crust, which wasn't supporting it. While the flavors were good, it was just a poorly constructed and soggy yet expensive pizza. We prefer the Ada location. read more

I've been to Vitales a couple times now. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are good. The first time we went we had Annie as our server, she was very attentive and friendly and gave great food recommendations - the rigatoni is amazing. The other time we've gone there, Makenzie was our server and we were again very impressed by the service! We will definitely be going back. read more

We had dinner here last night and it was fantastic. We both ordered the pesto chicken panini. The chicken was perfectly thin and tender, and the pesto Mayo on it had incredible flavor. We usually order sweet potato fries, but opted for their house made chips instead, and I'm so glad we did. They were delicious! They were wavy, warm and had the best seasoning on them. I usually love this restaurant however our visit today was very disappointing. The customer service was awful. Our server ignored us and was rude from the beginning. The food is overpriced for what it was. The pasta does not come with a soup or salad, even though it's about $19 for each pasta dish. The "garlic bread" was over cooked, no seasoning, and just cheese thrown onto it. We also had to wait 40 minutes for our food to arrive when it was dead. Some of the food was cold as well. read more
