Consistently great pizza. In the top ten pizzas I've ever had as far as overall flavor and quality. Even if they have an off day, it's still better than any other pizza you'll find around. Get your order in early if it's coming up on "rush hour" or a weekend... otherwise you'll have a wait. The wait is still worth it. The sauce and crust are delicious and you can tell the owner put his heart into the recipe. The price is amazing for the value. I'm thankful for that, as these pizzas could easily command three times the price in a fancy restaurant... but instead, the owner focuses on keeping the small community happy. For a price competitive with low-end take-out, you get a gourmet pizza. The only critical remark regarding ingredient quality is that in the past, the mushrooms have been canned, so we stopped ordering them. That's a minor and common thing... and at the price point, nothing to gripe about. Just something to know in advance so you can decide accordingly. Occasionally, depending on who makes it, you may get a variation in the amount of toppings. Some are more generous and than others and ensure things are evenly applied... but as I said, even on an off day, it's a better pizza and value than anywhere else, so odds are you'll still get a top of the line incredible pie. read more

Great pizza! New to the Decatur, AL area. One night we were craving pizza. Read previous Yelp reviews and decided to give Pizza Roma a try. We piled into the car to go grab a pizza. Place wasn't busy in the front, grabbed a table only to find out that this is really a takeout place. Minutes later, pizza in hand, we headed home. We ordered a 14" supreme, thin crust pizza. Oh my -- the pizza was the best we've had in a long, long time! First off, Pizza Roma's pizzas are a much better quality and lower price than the usual chains. They come loaded with all the toppings. Can't believe the terrible service we got. I don't like leaving bad reviews but our bill was way over what it was supposed to be because they had other people's order on ours. The pizza is wonderful! However I called and ordered a large BBQ chicken pizza and cheese sticks with marina sauce and balaclava. I called in at 5 the lady told me an hour. No problem I know it takes longer. My husband got there about 545 and was told he would be waiting 15 minutes. At 6:30 he gets our order. Other people were ordered and served during that time. Long wait, understatement. Called in at 12:30, they said it would be 35min, lie one. I drove from West Point, when I got there when the pizza was suppose to be ready, they told me that it was being made, obviously lie 2 because 45 minutes later they said they had just put it in the oven. At 1:45 they said it was in the oven and would be ready in 7 minutes, lie 3. At 2:20 told me that they had just given MY PIZZA away to the lady driving off. They had already told her they messed up her order and was remaking it. YOU DON'T GIVE SOMEONE'S PIZZA, THAT HAS BEEN WAITING IN YOUR STORE LONGER THAN THE LADY ORDER YOU GOT WRONG, PIZZA AWAY. I wish they would have just been honest, anywhere along the way. If they would have said when I called it would be 2 hours before pizza would be ready, then I would not have ordered one. If they would have told me the truth when I got there, after driving from WEST POINT, in Cullman, that it would be an hour and half before I would have a pizza, I would have left. BUT THEY LIED ALL ALONG THE WAY JUST TO NOT EVEN GIVE ME A PIZZA. We made it home 30 minutes after the Alabama game kick off because they LIED over and over. Oh my goodness! We lived in Ca for 40 years and after coming to Al and trying all kinds of pizzas we have always been disappointed until trying this place. The crust is crispy on the edges, tender in the middle, perfect thickness, slight sweetness, a little garlic and parm on the crust, cooked to perfection! Yes more please! Now hoping my Glutenfree Daughter can try their gf crust. Looking forward to many more pizzas. We don't mind the drive from Huntsville or the wait. Lobster taste on a Burger King budget. read more

A family member recommended Pizza Roma. It's a bit out of the way for us, being around a 20 mile drive (one way), BUT the pizza is absolutely worth it! The crust has a very nice consistency (neither too thick, nor too thin). It's just right amount of chewiness and they do not skimp on toppings!! We take along our own picnic supplies of drinks, plates, napkins etc., and enjoy our experience all the more. We drive just down the road to a large truck and parking lot and dine on our pizza right there in our vehicle, while it's still hot-n-fresh! They get really busy on weekends, so just know and understand the wait is probably going to be longer than your normal pizza carry-out joints. That said, the pizza is amazing! Much better than any of those chain guys. Did I mention the prices are very reasonable as well. I highly recommend their XL Supreme, esp., if you are feeding a hungry family, but the prices are so good, you can also order several smalls or mediums and not break the bank trying to feed a bunch of picky kids! : ) read more

Ok so this is the best pizza in Morgan County Alabama period. The price is downright reasonable and I struggle to describe the glorious and miraculous quality of the pizza. Please note: they won't start your pizza before you get there. You can order ahead all you want; you lovers of dominoes and papa johns, but this place sells art in a cardboard pizza box. The marinara surpasses the ambrosia of Olympus and the cheesy bread will break the will and spirit of any lactose intolerant individual within a 40 mile radius. BUT you gotta understand the experience, the staff is snippy and the wait is long. I'm here from Los Angeles visiting family. We wanted something easy for dinner and somehow or another pizza kept being mentioned. So I got on Google maps and searched for pizza. Pizza Roma came up, and I looked at all the reviews on Google and Yelp and thought I'll give them a try. I was not disappointed. Picture perfect, hot, on time, and absolutely delicious. I'm so glad this place exists less than 3 miles from our home. I'm a pizza snob, and I've had the best on the West Coast and in New York, and this is very good. My only suggestion would be to use fresh mushrooms instead of canned. But judging from the whole package, this is far tastier than anything the major pizza chains have to offer. read more

The pizza here is amazing BUT the wait is absolutely ridiculous. The ladies who work there are so rude! Just tell me the real time the pizza will be ready. The whole store was packed with people waiting, some for almost 2 hours. I asked for my money back and she (young, rude girl) said she didn't know how to do that. Pizza is great, but the staffing situation is weird. We arrived and wanted to dine in. The staff saw us when we arrived, but didn't greet us or explain how the restaurant works. Do you order at the table or the register? We seated ourselves and waited expecting someone to say something. Ten minutes passed which gave us a chance to check out the menu and the table that looked like it might have been cleaned a couple of days ago. My wife cleaned our table with paper towels while I went to the register to ask how we were supposed to place an order. I waited another five minutes as two of the employees walked around the kitchen. Finally, a young woman arrived and took our order. Time passed and finally the pizza was done. A young woman slid the pizza on the counter and declared, "Pizza's done!" She didn't offer napkins, forks, plates, or anything. We ate off of paper towels which made me really think about the last time that table was probably cleaned. When we finished, there wasn't a trash can big enough to put a pizza box. All I can say is this is great pizza looking for a restaurant to be served in. Hospitality is nonexistent. (BTW, another family came in as we were finishing up and they went through the same cat and mouse game with the staff.) On the upside, there was a "HELP WANTED" sign on the door.
