    Burnt Ends Pizza
    Steven B.

In my humble opinion, Pizza Tree is the best pizza in COMO. Being a pizza addict, I appreciate the fact that their pizza is available by the slice, too. Being an addict, I can't control myself and I'll eat an entire pizza in one setting. However, I can tell you the next time I'm in COMO, I am going totally wild and enjoying an entire pizza. I walked over for a lunch from my hotel and it was a quick stroll down E. Broadway and a couple of turns. The set-up was so NYC, two windows facing the street. One for ordering and the other for picking up your order. To the right of the storefront, was an alley and that was where two tables with four seats each were located. Again, so NYC. I walked up to one of the tables and asked the gentleman if he'd share the table and he said I could join him. Since I was in town for a wedding, I ordered the Treehouse Salad, which is the brides favorite. It was a nice mix of greens and the pickled onions on top is what set it above other salads. For my pizza and went with the grooms recommendation, Burnt Ends and it was delicious. It was made with house-made BBQ sauce, Burnt Ends, Mozzarella cheese and Buttered Onion. As the menu states, WOW! I was so tempted to have a second slice, but I controlled myself. The staff were friendly and professional. They made ordering at the window easy. Then when presenting my order, the young girl confirmed that I had made a good choice. When in COMO, stop by Pizza Tree for a slice or an entire pizza.

This was my first visit to the Tree and I fully enjoyed it. Grabbed 3 slices at the takeout window. Probably wouldn't get the peppadew slice again as didn't seem as fresh. This spot has got some real creative menu options that bolster Columbias pizza game. Really want to try the Kimchi Pie the next time I go! Girl at the window said it gets crazy when school picks up so I'm glad I was able to walk right up and order immediately during the slower summer months. While not the cheapest option with $14 for 3 slices but I will definitely be back on account of quick service and quality of ingredients.

Pretty solid pizza but where they shine are their specialty pizzas. They are all so fun and tasty. I just had the jalapeno papa which was cream cheese, jalapenos/other peppers, and honey and it was so unique! Something I really appreciate about them is they really try to use higher quality oils which results in me not feeling terrible after I eat here. At least for lunch they were only open for walk-ups and we couldn't sit inside. I don't know if this is typical but it would've been nice to sit inside with the summer heat. Didn't get much interaction with the workers because it was just a walkup window but they seemed nice.

Awesome pizza, we sat outside to eat, there are a couple tables there. Fresh toppings, delicious crust.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review on Pizza Tree. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Best pizza in Columbia, seriously. Deciding between Shakespeare's and Pizza Tree? I'll help make the decision easier- definitely choose here (I know from experience). Last time I was here, you still couldn't sit & eat inside, but it's pretty small inside anyways. Best to order ahead of time online or via phone call and pick it up at their window. I've tried various pizzas from here and have never been disappointed. If I had to choose one pizza place to eat at for the rest of my life, I think this place would be it. My favorite is Steven's Cheese and Wabbit Food. Steven's cheese is the cheesiest yummy goodness you'll ever taste. It comes with parmesan on top, which gets crispy in the oven and a garlic-herb ricotta white sauce as the base. I've never had a better white pizza. Wabbit Food is your classic veggie pizza with fresh basil on top. It almost feels like it might be healthy while you're eating it because the veggies add such a refreshing flavor. The Mac and Cheese is also pretty popular I would say. It may sound weird, but don't knock it till you try it. It comes with a similar creamy white sauce as Steven's Cheese. Although you can make your own pizza here, I recommend getting one of their creations because even the classic ones like Wabbit Food or Pepperoni have their own unique touch that only Pizza Tree has to offer. Can't wait to be back in Columbia & stuff my face with Pizza Tree!!!

This is my second time coming back and I was disappointed. I ordered the Wabbit food/Ranch Hands 18in without olives and it had olives. Reading the reviews makes it seems like it's a pretty common thing for them to mix up orders. The pizza was also burned on the bottom which was disappointing. An 18in is around $27 which isn't the cheapest. Id gladly pay if it came with quality as well. I probably won't be returning sadly.

We had my MIL and BIL in town for a fun family night and needed some pizza! They are some big pizza connoisseur's so I wanted to really impress them, and who better than Pizza Tree?! I've heard some debate between PT and Shakespeare's in town and I don't think it's a debate at all! PT has soo many fun pizza options, the Kimchi one is my fav, that I've never seen at other pizza shops. It was also super easy to order ahead online. The salad they offer was also pretty tasty! Def my favorite pizza in town!

Gumby's Pizza - Columbia, MO…read more I was working in Columbia last week when a few coworkers suggested we stop by Gumby's Pizza for lunch. Located downtown near the Mizzou campus, Gumby's is a well-known local spot that's popular with students and residents alike. As with most downtown areas, parking can be a bit of a challenge, so plan accordingly. At first glance, the restaurant looks small from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll find it surprisingly spacious. When you walk in, you're greeted by specials posted throughout the entrance area. We arrived right around noon and, to our surprise, we were the only group dining at that time. Orders are placed at the counter, where we were helped by a woman who was absolutely fantastic--friendly, patient, and accommodating, especially considering that several people in our group were visiting for the first time. After ordering, you can choose to sit at a booth, high-top table, or at the bar. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with TVs throughout, a music machine, and even a pool table for entertainment. Since I'm currently following a fasting diet and skip breakfast and lunch, I ordered my meal to go so I could enjoy it for dinner. Having had plenty of pizza the night before at Shakespeare's, I decided to switch things up. I went with a pound of boneless wings--half buffalo, half mango habanero--and added a side of beef toasted ravioli. One of our local coworkers also ordered the XL cheese bread for the table, and I can confidently say, based on both this visit and past experiences, it's easily in my top three for cheese bread anywhere. Everyone in our group was happy with their food, from the pizzas to the other menu items. Overall, Gumby's is a spot I'll continue to visit whenever I'm in Columbia. Great service, solid food, and a laid-back vibe make it a go-to for a casual meal downtown.

However, I totally did enjoy my small sausage and jalapeno pizza after a night of bar hopping in COMO. I ordered at the counter and took my deliciousness back to my hotel room to enjoy. The counterperson was friendly and professional. There were several of us ordering and waiting for carry-out. She totally kept the line moving and even offered glasses of water for us to enjoy while waiting. My wait was actually a very short time. The set-up behind the counter was easy to view, so I got to watch them make my pizza. When mine came out of the oven, I knew it was mine. There were plenty of topping and the mozzarella cheese was well melted and even had a golden color to it. Is Gumby's the "best" pizza? No, but it is head and shoulders above a national chain pizzeria that is just a few doors down. So, I recommend them over Papa.

Amazing pizza place to bring your kids!…read more There is a section with steps for kids to walk on and look through the window. Then above it is a hole where workers throw pieces of dough through for the kids to catch and later play with! Such a genius idea because it keeps the kids and adults entertained. Inside vibe of this place is awesome with an Italian man statue that the babies pointed out. There is a bar deep inside the restaurant almost a little hidden which has TVs. There is also a small section with a driving game, and two claw machine games where all kids gravitated towards. Pizza was good, they offer multiple sizes and flexible toppings. Serve your own soda/beverages. Red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese offered as well. They also give towels. When I walked in, it smelt like memories of my childhood going to different pizza places with my grandparents and parents. It definitely has a retro nostalgic pizza restaurant vibe. They were glad to do it as long as I didn't say Go KU haha My buddy and I ordered the Masterpiece which was basically a Supreme pizza that had been recognized my Good Morning America. We also ordered garlic bread. The garlic bread came out first and it was all right. It was soft which is important to me but it could have had a little more cheese or garlic on it. The Masterpiece was delicious. Pizza doesn't love me as much as I use to love pizza. But I had no trouble throwing down 4 slices with the sweet taste of extra sauce that I asked for.
