The staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about both the wine list and menu, and every recommendation felt thoughtfully curated. The food was phenomenal. We have the chef special which was a chicken skin dish and the short rib pasta with the added burrata; flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. Each year, I would wait patiently to stock up on my favourtie spices from this company. It was also a chance to see the lovely couple who is so friendly and generous that sells their spices! The wife would be at one bazaar and her husband would be at another location... so cute! Their spices are dried and packed with punch! My favourites are: garlic sesame; creamy galic; wasabi - packed with lots of garlic is how I like it! It is great for making easy party dips and lovely to put on meats or sauces for baking. A very nice gift idea too for those friends who love to cook =D Interestly, while visiting Puyallup Farmers Market this past weekend, I came upon their booth! It wasn't sold by the lovely couple I know, so I am not sure if its a family business or not. The tangy tapenade really complimented the creamy burrata. We were also served the softest french bread, which sopped up the pesto so nicely. We were lucky enough to get a bite of all 4 dinner entrees on the table. I ordered one of the daily specials, the Saltimbocca. The chicken/prosciutto combo was so flavorful in the white wine sauce. The portion was plentiful, I could have taken a doggy bag, but devoured it bite by bite. I was thankful to have made this choice - score! Hubs ordered the Diavola pizza, with crisp pepperoni and pickled serranos. Either the serranos or red pepper sauce gave it quite the kick, not overly, but deliciously. It was perfectly crispy! What frustrated me wasn't necessarily the cost--it was the lack of follow-up, dismissive conversations, and unanswered inquiries. That all changed when I contacted Mama Stortini's. Almost immediately, I received a response from Maguire, who expressed genuine interest in hosting our event. Over the next several days, he worked closely with me, answering questions and helping me bring my vision to life. Maguire is top-notch. He was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and professional. Most importantly, he made me feel valued as a customer, regardless of the size of my event. Once we booked, I was introduced to Brittany Blakeney. What a wonderful person! Brittany was positive, genuine, and incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. She assured me that everything would go smoothly and that I would have nothing to worry about on my wedding day--and she was absolutely right. She detailed our event so thoroughly that by the time we had our final planning call, I hardly had any questions left to ask. When our wedding day finally arrived, the catering team was on time, prepared, and ready to go. The setup was beautiful, the food display was impressive, and the food itself was absolutely delicious. I am disappointed that I forgot the names of the two young gentlemen who served our guests because they were amazing. Although I didn't have much time to interact with them during the event, every interaction I did have was impressive. They were professional, courteous, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the Weekday Special, which had so many options it was hard to decide, but I ended up choosing the Meatball Grinder. The Weekday Special comes with a side salad and a choice of dressings. The Meatball Grinder is savory, filling & delicious! Really loved the soft bread and the red sauce. It's a two meal kind of sandwich (for me).
