Good pizza! The slices are huge, the crust is perfectly crispy, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. From my understanding the won the Best in Tacoma one year. Gem if you live in stadium district. Can easily walk here for a slice. Definitely hit the spot and I'd come back again!

The other day I had to be somewhere at 7 and it was 6 and I said to my baby, "Baby, I wish we could just go pick up a slice like we could at a pizzeria in New York." And then I remembered that we could!!! So we stopped into Salamones for some slices and a beer, chugged it all down and got where we needed to be. So glad to be able to have had that experience!

Still great, what else is there to say. If you like NY style pizza, this is the place to go. Great crust, good cheese blend, sauce is tangy. All around great pie.

Looking for NY style pizza by the slice in Tacoma? Then head over to Salamone's Pizza in the Stadium district. You can order a whole pie, but we usually stop in and order a couple slices each right at the counter. Grab a nice cold beer from the cooler too! Tip: Check out the menu board for the Red Chef's Special and the White Chef's Special. So good!

This spot nailed the classic NY pizza joint vibe, speaking from brief experience..efficient, fast, and perfect for a quick bite. While there are a few tables, the atmosphere is definitely more grab-and-go than a traditional sit-down restaurant. The staff was friendly and working hard despite the rush. I stopped by for a weekday lunch and grabbed the Pesto Chef's Choice slice. Even after the drive back to my office, it was delicious and held up perfectly. Pro tip: they use full-sized boxes for to-go orders, so if you're just getting a slice, a plate might be easier. Convenient location with easy parking in the lot behind Stadium Thriftway. I'll definitely be back to order a full pie next time.

Tasty pizza, large servings, easily modified. I love that you can get slices, as well.

Driving around Tacoma when we spotted a small pizza shop around and corner and decided to try it out. This pizza shop has to be one of the best pizzerias in the Seattle-Tacoma area, tried the classic cheese pizza and the grandmas pizza on focaccia. The service was great and was wary greeted by the cashier. Overall 10/10

Very tasty NY style pizza by the slice. We were visiting from LA but have both lived in NY and always struggle to find a NY style pie. Bonus for by the slice options!

This New York style pizza rivals the best of the best. Crispy, full of flavor, and customer service that is awesome. Nice neighborhood pizza parlor vibe which is fun too. Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Salamone's Pizza

    How is the beer selection?

They have 1 or 2 bottles (i saw peroni) in the fridge.

Do they have vegan pizza by the slice all the time or at certain times? I'm unfortunately lactose intolerant but I still want pizza and want to try this place out!

They didn't have any today when we were there but they're pretty new and it seems like their slice menu is still a little limited. Call ahead I guess because their pizza is excellent and worth the visit!

Not a huge fan of the ambience in Bar Rosa, plywood floors and very dark. We were sat in a booth, and it was as the sun was setting. The windows are all illuminated and beyond filthy (inside) - it was hard not to notice with the windows open and leaning towards our table. I also was the unfortunate one to have the sun straight and my face for about half of our dinner. Service was hit or mess. We waited a long time with no check in for more cocktails. The cocktail choices are great, however, they were out of a particular cocktail my friend wanted to order. We started with the meatballs, not good. The sauce however was phenomenal! Meatballs were just very dense and dry. The appetizer came out not even 5 minutes after our order was put in, so they were lukewarm at best. When we ordered our pizza, they were out of the homemade sausage, this was Saturday night at 6pm???, so we ordered the foraged pizza as is. The pizza was delicious. My friends ordered the Marguerita - crust was a bit over done. Food was good- $30 a pizza good, not in my opinion. Hi, generally do not leave negative reviews- I look for the silver lining at majority of restaurants I visit- but this was a tough one for me. Again- maybe an off night.

It looked gorgeous when I took a picture of it and I shared with my boyfriend and little brother who enjoyed it too! Some differences that I noticed is that the outdoor seating is just a few tables and chairs outside so you can enjoy your meal outside and they do have dog water bowls out too! The other difference is that dogs are also welcomed inside! I told this when I received my order and I was chatting with the two employees at the counter. I wished I had gotten their names but they were so inviting and kind. That was another difference, I got service as I feel like that is very lacking at the Puyallup location. I ordered their classic old fashioned cocktail and it was served right away. The drink was a perfect balance of sweetness, possibly the best old fashioned I've ever had. With help from the bartender I decided on the surf and turf for my meal. I was told that the steak would take a while because the kitchen was a little backed up. Not a problem. I did wait for a while but it was well worth it. The steak was absolutely beautiful. There was a nice crust under a buttery chive sauce. The lobster tail on top was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all. It was served with lobster dumplings that were delightful. It was possibly the best steak I've had in Tacoma recently. I'll have to come back to try other delicious looking things on the menu. I ended up talking to a person who sat next to me at the bar for a while and we shared the berry crumble for dessert. It was hot, classic and fresh, served with ice cream. I don't remember exactly what the cost of everything was but it was all totally worth it. The food, the service and the company were all amazing. I loved watching the bartenders make drinks and being able to see the chefs cook is also fun. Their new building is much bigger than the last and it's beautiful.
