No complaints about Pizza World. This was my first time getting a pizza from a Pizza World location. I called in on Friday around 6pm and they were able to answer my questions quickly. I ultimately ended up getting my usual go to flavor: a Haiwaiian Pizza, which they told me was a 'build your own' and I ordered an extra large pizza for four people. There were a total of 10 slices and it was filling! Surprisingly, they said that it would be ready in 10 minutes, which was fast for a Friday night! The toppings were great and filled! Though I live in St Louis and eat lots of STL style thin crust pizza...its really not my preferred choice. I prefer a more pan style pizza or as some call it NY style. I heard about Pizza World - and had a coupon - so decided to try it. We ordered 2 medium pizzas both with the pan crust (they do offer a thin crust). We did a build our own meat lover style and ordered the philly cheesesteak. I really like the meat one but the cheesesteak wasn't my favorite. Honestly it was just a bit bland and didn't taste like there was really any sauce on it (it was supposed to have like a white sauce). We did also enjoy their homemade ranch dressing - YUM! Pizza World is some of the best Pizza in the Missouri area period!! The crust is perfectly made. The dough is not overworked, it has just the right chewiness to it. The toppings are always fresh. This is what Pizza should taste like. They also have excellent Salads that are very plentiful & their Cheesy Garlic Bread & Cheesy Breadsticks are delicious also. There Chicken Wings are cooked just right, not overcooked to the point of them being tough, they are tender & juicy & the sauces satisfy ur tastebuds. They have very friendly & quick service also. The owner of this establishment is amazing, he showed my family and I nothing but hospitality. His staff acting in the same manner. Pizza Pie My husband and I were in the mood for ordering pizza, and since we had never tried Pizza World, thought we would give it a shot. The guy who answered the phone and took our order was polite, and willing to accommodate. Delivery guy also was easy to deal with and again, polite. Now as for the pizza - it was rather dry. Could have used more sauce, more cheese ,pepperoni and black olives. Also ordered 12 ravs which seem to sit in the fryer a bit too long. They were dry with overly crisp edges. The sauce that came with the ravs was cold. Thought they were pricy for what was given. Don't mind paying a bit more, if we feel as though the food is good but this was nothing great. I ordered a pizza for pickup. I repeated my order twice. It was a half and half. I guess I should have looked at it before I left the store. There were mushrooms on my half and I hate mushrooms! I called and was told they would make another one and to bring the first one back. I mean...what pizza place when they make a mistake, tell you to bring the old one back. The pizza here is your typical "run-of-the-mill" pizza place, similar to an upgraded version of Domino's or Papa John's. Oh man, SUCH a disappointment! I remember the Shrewsbury Pizza World from years ago, and their pizza was soooo unbelievably delectable! When I saw that there was a location in Creve Coeur, I was super excited to get my old favorites to bring home. Unfortunately, these 2 pizzas *barely* had any cheese at all, and the toppings were scarce. Dry, dry, dry. Totally disgusting, totally a let down. Fast forward 20+ years, and I went in w a coupon about a month ago, and I've been back twice since then. Love their thin crust as it is kinda flaky. Cheese and sauce are great too. I used to eat at the Pizza World in St. Peter's when I was little and after they closed, we started eating at the one in St Charles. When this one opened, Was SO excited! Then I went there....and it darn near ruined every memory I have of that delicious Chicken Caesar pizza. Then I went there again...and they absolutely managed to shame the memory of what was Pizza World. First experience was the 2 older women working the front, didnt know how to work the register, it was their opening. I grabbed my pizza and it was missing 3 of the 4 ingredients that go on top & was half burnt. Called and the young manager (owner?) Gave me a refund and was nice. Second time, ordered the same pizza in hopes that they had made it through their opening rough patch. Went in to pick up the pizza & checked it before I left this time....missing 2 of the 4 ingredients. The chicken Caesar pizza, it's a specialty, how can you NOT know how to make the pizzas on your specialty list?? And it was the manager/owner guy making them. And again , the older woman at the register stares at you like you are alien and doesn't respond to your questions. I don't know if this job is over her head or she is on some sort of meds, but had to ring me up separate for a drink because she didn't understand how to add it to the pizza order. There are two kinds of pizza places in this world. Those that make sure they slice all the way through the crust when they are cutting it and the rat bastards from hell that leave you to tear your slices apart in horrified disgust at the mounting possibility of mutilating your piece into a gooey rorshach of cheese, crust and sauce. Pizzaworld, sadly, falls into the latter category. I'll come back to this in a minute. First, the review. This place just opened a few weeks ago down the street from my office and I decided that I hadn't had enough arterial clogging to justify my short 34 years of existence so I stopped in today to sample the goods and see how they compare to some of the other pies in town. Oh man. Where to start .... while I love a good open kitchen concept in a restaurant, when the employees are singing an talking at the top of their lungs, it makes it REALLY hard for the cashier to take an accurate order. I had to repeat myself from the beginning 3 times before she got it and it still came out wrong. I wanted to be mad at her, but after watching a kid belt out his best karaoke version of Bruno Mar's 'Uptown Funk', (Hot Damn!) I have to level the fault on management and their hiring practices. Unless, of course, the lady taking my order was the manager. in which case, screw you. The food came out in a timely manner at least and while I had ordered the garlic bread, Justin Bieber Jr. apparently knew what I wanted to eat better than I did and sent out the cheese bread in its place. It wasn't terrible, thankfully and was probably the best part of my meal. While I was waiting for the food, I tried the tea and it was overly watered down and just tasted like a mouthful of disappointment. Two sips had me switching to Dr. Pepper with the quickness. *side rant* Why is it so hard for people to nail a good iced tea? It shouldn't taste like water. It should have nice, strong bitterness to it and no weird after tastes from forgetting to wash out the machine the night before. Anyway, the pizza comes out and they have committed the cardinal sin of pizza making. PLEASE make sure to cut the damn thing all the way through before you send it out. If I have to try and pull apart pieces because you couldn't be bother to take an extra five seconds to press a little harder on the pizza cutter, I'm going to get angry. When none of the cuts have gone through, I'm going to pitch a fit. On Yelp. Once I had managed to get a vaguely pizza shaped piece of something removed from my 'pizza' circle, I had a chance to taste it. The crust was spot on. Nice and crispy. The sauce was overly sweet for my tastes and I wasn't a big fan of the cheese. These are just personal tastes though. Your experience may be different. I'm one of those weird people that loves Imo's so take that all with a grain of salt. Overall, I had more of an issue with the maturity of the staff, or lack thereof, than the food itself. I ordered a pizza on Seamless app , after 1 hour which I haven't got my pizza yet I called the restaurant and asked about my order ( in the app it says driver is on its way , but just getting delay and delay ) so I called them and the OWNER says they don't see my order , they don't work with seamless app and they don't recognize the driver "Zack". So I give up and go buy McDonald's . Next day I chat with seamless which tells me they do work with this place. Every now and again I get lazy and want to order a pizza. I was thrilled that Pizza World delivered to my new house. I had been eating there in my early days but they never had delivery to where I was in the city and carryout was not what I was looking for. I am pleased to say they are just how I remember. They can be a little on the well done side but the toppings less the crust. The toppings are plenty and they are good. The driver is usually fast and friendly. Ordering online is a pain if you don't have a credit card. So I decided to take the short trip up and order a small pizza with garlic and bacon and Pepperoni as well as garlic bread. The guy behind the counter who took my order was very nice and helpful. It took about 10ish minutes which isn't bad. The garlic bread was okay. Kind of tasted like something I would make at home, would not get again sadly. But the pizza, while spicy, was really good. I decided to go back with my dad a while later. We ordered pretty much the same thing but this time ordered it with lite pizza world Spice, bacon and Pepperoni as well as breadsticks and a giant chocolate chip cookie. All were delicious.
