Fantastic service but the food was awful. My daughter got lasagna, which I couldn't even finish chewing let alone swallow. I got the chicken bruschetta which wasn't as bad but the chicken tasted frozen with no flavor. Will not be back which is sad because the owner seemed so very nice read more

Their bread is up to scratch! I came here for a caeser salad and hot wings, not the bread... but they gave me two fresh dough triangles and I fell in love. I definitely need to come back to try the pizza. The salad was fresh with lots of slivered parmesan cheese and thick homemade dressing. Hot wings as expected, not skimpy. The staff at the counter here was friendly (im thinking maybe he was the owner) and treated me with appreciation... something you don't get every day! Ugh. Really not trying to be a jerk but our dining experience was not very good. Quality of the food is on par with Olive Garden...maybe not even as good. The calamari was horrible. Rubbery with very little taste. My wife had the Alfredo with chicken and she said it was just ok. I had a special of shrimp and clams pesto over linguine and it was very watery but not awful. Our waitress may have been the worst ever. She never offered us bread, brought my salad half way through my dinner, left her server tray on our table and disappeared for 15 minutes with dirty dishes on it. Half way through dinner she asked if we were ready to check out? Never offered dessert. She was so soft spoken we could barely understand anything she was saying. Before we ordered I asked her about the Filet Marsala special and she said it was a 7oz piece of meat with Marsala. I asked what kind of steak and she said she didn't know? The pizza looked good so If we ever go back will probably just order that. read more

Simply amazing! We had a meat lover's 16" and it was the closest to authentic NY thin I've had yet - and that includes pizzas I've had in NY! The first bite I said "Ooooo" and it got better from there. Great job!! We'll be back for sure! read more

I've ate here twice now with a friend of mine. The food is a little pricey, but it definitely worth the cost. I've had their chicken lasguna and their chicken parmesan. Both were excellent. I am so disappointed in the level of service we just received this afternoon. We have been frequenting Pizzantica approximately 2 times per week for the past year. We have a favorite waitress Teena that is outstanding! Unfortunately for us, Teena was off today. Pizzantica has hired a few new waitresses that seem not to know how to treat customers. After we placed our order (which we waited over 15 minutes to do), I overheard the waitress saying I was rude to her and was discussing me with another waitress. First, I was not rude. Second, discussing clientele with other workers around customers is NOT acceptable. I am a VP of a Financial organization, and I would totally lose my composure if one of my associates acted to a client in this way. My husband and I are seriously considering no longer dining at Pizzantica if this is the level of service they provide. Totally unfortunate. read more

My husband and I had a very bad dinner here on August 29. Very bad food and a lot of employee drama. We ordered fried zucchini for an appetizer, it was very burnt to the point of being inedible. I told this to the waitess, she said she could take it off the bill but never did. We ordered a Sicilian style pizza with extra cheese. There was barely enough cheese for it to be a normal amount, the crust was very dry and strangely crispy and airy, like the dough had been rising too long. The employees were huddled together in the kitchen doorway talking the entire time. The waitress kept telling my husband she would bring him a drink refill and kept apologizing for the long wait for the pizza. It took her 10 minutes to bring the drink refill. Then a loud argument broke out among the employees. A loud, angry female voice started shouting about another employee being trained and others disagreed with her. The same female voice started loudly using the "f" word. The host, who was cleaning windows, made awkward eye contact with us, looking embarrassed. There was no management apology or intervention to stop the loud yelling and cursing. It's expensive to eat out nowadays and we expect edible food and a pleasant atmosphere. Instead we got awful food and had to listen to the employee drama. It was a Monday night, we normally cook at home during the week, but decided to treat ourselves to a night off of cooking and doing dishes. We wasted money on the terrible food and it was no treat to have to listen to the arguing. I would highly recommend you go somewhere else to eat. read more

Not sure how they ended up in Albemarle but thank God they did. This is the best Italian food this side of Charlotte! Have ate here many times and have only had one problem on a takeout order. Last night was the first time I have ever been there. We had a part of 10 . 7 adults 3 kids started off at East Coast wings because it was my daughters 18th bday and that is where she wanted to go for her bday. Went over there and the hostess were so rude and uninviting. So we went to Pizzantica to see if they would take a part of 10 with no reservations.... They took us in with open arms greeting us made us feel welcomed. Our waitress Alishia was so sweet. She made sure we were taken care of. Food was JUST AMAZING!!!!!! SERVICE AMAZING !!!!!! They sang to my daughter.. AND THE PRICES NOT BAD AT ALL..... FOR A PARTY OF 10 RIGHT AT $120.00. I could not believe it.... My daughter & family had a great time.. So glad we went to Pizzantica.... we have been here about 7 times now. The food is great and that is the reason we go back, but 5 out of 7 times, the waitress has forgotten the salad and brings it after the meal. (different waitress' ) Also the last 3 times, someone at our table gets an incorrect order. Last night all the checks were wrong. We have spoke with the owners 2 times now, about this. We came in as a party of 7 right behind a party of 11 which by the way they had not all showed up yet and were told we could not be sitted until the 12 were sitted. So after waiting 10 minutes we told the waitress we would split up our party to a booth and a small table near each other but they would not do it and ended up sitting the 11 party in 3 different booths when they could have had 2 booths and a table where they were closer together. Then the manager came out there with an attitude as well as the hostess and another waitress. We had family in from out of town otherwise we would have left. First time eating inside the restaurant, will be our last. As always food was terrific, service was abysmal. had Julien (1035) he could not have been more disinterested. We had to ask for bread, which is evidently complimentary( we saw parties seated after us by 15 minutes get theirs). He told us " he was waiting for hot bread to come out" Really? Then why did other tables get theirs before us? Asked for to go boxes, and we left two of them behind. We went back in less than 5 minutes later, and they had been throw out. no attempt was made to come see if we were still in sight to bring them to us. While it was our fault we left them behind, I do not think it is unreasonable to take a look to see if we are still within eye shot, and bring them to us. ( we were, as I had gone to get he car, and the rest of our party was in the lobby. My wife went back the following day, spoke with the manager, who said" that's unfortunate", and nothing else. Based on the crowds that pack the place, they will not miss us. But this type of service will ultimately doom a successful restaurant read more

Finnaly a good Italian place in town. This place rocks. I have had chicken stomboli , lasagna, pizza, my wife has had shrimp scampi and chicken bruschetta with angel hair pasta and my girls had ny Stromboli. No complaints from us , the service is wonderful and so is the staff, and the atmosphere is relaxing and fun. The last time we went though they really knocked service out of the park for us. At the end if the meal the guy who cleaned off our table , spilled some crushed tomatoes on my wife, not alot, just a few, and it really was not a major thing for us, but he immediately apologized and a little later the waitress came to the table and informed us that Eduardo had taken care of our meal. I was shocked and certainly did not expect this but the fact that he felt so bad about this incident told me just much this place cares about customer service. Way to go Eduardo, accidents happen but you made a great impression on us thank you so much. read more
