The good: Warm ciobatta bread brought with a side of pesto garlic oil for dipping as a starter. Drinks came promptly. The great: Crispy excellent Parmesan garlic wings The warning: Got an antipasto salad- it was not nearly as good as it had been before (we ordered to go once a few months ago). This one has turkey (not supposed to be on there!?) & ham (unlikely) on it and was missing the good Italian meats that are typical. Plus the artichoke hearts were actually spoiled. Didn't have the heart to tell the very shy & reluctant waitress. The other warning: Ambiance is painful. Torn up seat cushion, I get it that those repairs don't happen overnight. But truly the staff was painful to interact with- ranged from civil or shy to downright rude (sullen teen). Not sure what's going on with management but I really hated this aspect- yes I'll still tip for adequate service but this place made me want to not return as it was uncomfortable.

I went to Pizzantica for a business lunch. It was highly recommended. I cannot say enough about my meal. I ordered the lunch special lasagna with a side salad with homemade Italian dressing. The meal came with bread and oil with herbs. Every bite was absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh, and the dressing was wonderful. The bread was soft and tasty. The lasagna was wonderful. It was flavorful, and the gravy was divine. Service was great. We were approached for drinks immediately, we ordered and had lunch on our table in about 7 minutes. The restaurant itself is humble. Booths give some sense of privacy. Enjoyed my experience and definitely will be back when I return to Albemarle.

great food and usually great service. they do tend to get busy at peak hours which delays things. but that's to be expected.

Pizza was fantastic. Crust was crispy and not soft...like a real NY pie. Garlic knots were great as well.

My wife, mother, and I came out on a Saturday night expecting a nice dinner, but there was a private event that had most of the bar closed and seemed to be getting most of the wait staff's attention. Unfortunately, this was not communicated in advance. I wish they had posted something on their social media pages so guests could plan accordingly. While the atmosphere was still pleasant, the overall experience felt a bit lackluster due to limited availability and service.

There's a plethora of seating including a few intimate reserved areas for special occasions. I also appreciate the open patio which has its own unique vibe. I just tried the HH bites. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Eggrolls. They were bland and had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. I was very disappointed but hungry. Another party also ordered all 3 eggrolls but they were burned and had hair in them. She sent them back and her claim was disputed by both the manager and bartender. The fact that the burned Eggrolls were not replaced without a triple check shocked me. I was flabbergasted. Based on that interaction she proclaimed she wouldn't return nor would I. I was disappointed in that interaction. I was going to order the lamb and pasta but decided against it.

The Deets: During a visit to Salisbury during The Cheerwine Festival, we stopped to one of the sample tables in front of Bottle & Can and after my friends enjoyed some of the samples we decided to step inside to see what this bottle shop/bar was all about. Honestly, The Cheerwine Festival can get way too "people-y" and we had wanted some downtime from the long lines and crowds. We found just that oasis in Bottle & Can. We sat down at the bar and were delivered great service and conversation during our visit there. They had a great selection of draft beers/beverages as well as some good selections in the coolers to enjoy also. I found an Untitled Art Chocolate Dark Brew NA beer in the cooler that hit the spot perfectly for me and I had a couple while enjoying the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of this bottle shop. We were seated in a back room at a long table, one of three. This room was warm and lovely. One table was already occupied, the other filled up shortly before we finished. From start to finish, our dining experience was wonderful. We did not have to worry about our little ones disrupting other guests, as the other party had little ones too. Our server, Madeline, was absolutely perfect! She was attentive without being intrusive. She had a good sense of humor and guided out decisions for food when we asked. She served us promptly and with a smile and made us feel so welcomed. I wish I could remember what everyone else ordered but I do know that my Pork Schnitzel was incredible! Also huge so I had enough for another meal the next day. When I return I will order the same thing. My husband brought a birthday cake in for me and our server brought that out at the end of the meal with plates and forks for everyone. We forced her to take a piece for her break, which she goodnaturedly did. There is only one tiny tiny thing to mention: It did take a long while for the 5 year old's drink and food to arrive. Not anyone's fault, it was very very busy. But try to explain that to a 5 year old. Rolls were served but they were too spicy for her. Or maybe the butter was spicy? Maybe feed your little ones something beforehand if you go on a busy weekend night, as we did. Kudos to the kitchen for pleasing so many different tastes so much, and for management for hiring Madeline who is a great asset to your restaurant.

There's an upscale bar in the entry that had several seats open even when the tables were all full. I started with the crab hush puppies. What's not to like about fried dough after all, but I didn't really get much crab flavor out of them. The buttermilk and corn preparation came through more. The entree was a showstopper, though - grilled elk chops with a pomegranate glaze and country mashed potatoes. They were scrumptious, and the al dente vegetables cooked in with the potatoes gave them a nice toothsomeness. One of the best entrees I've had in quite some time. It's nice when a menu gives you a protein choice you don't see everywhere. Parking is fine, with a paved lot in front and spaces on either side of the adjacent street. Service was welcoming and efficient.

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.
