Unfortunatly this place has severely gone down hill.; it's really a shame. Spouse, daughter and I drove here for pizza on a Saturday evening around 7:30 pm thinking that it would be super busy.. To our surprise it was dead with only one other couple and now I understand why. I don't know if there was a manager on shift but that place was filthy. Sticky tables with spilt beer and soda not properly cleaned and garbage overflowing every single trash can. The staff was too busy watching the boxing match on ESPN then cleaning up the place and as a result my pizzas were burnt because no one paid attention. I complained to the counter" are you kidding me,, going to serve me this burnt pizza?" And he just shrugged his shoulders. After 30 mins waiting I didn't want to wait another 30 mins so I took it anyway. It wasn't like they were super busy. If I was the owner I would take accountability and then fire every last person working and then start over with fresh staff that really need a job, take pride in their work and have strong work ethic. Got the Monday night special Lg 2 topping with chicken and wedges. Chicken was done in 15 minutes waited an extra 20 minute wait for the pizza. Pizza was good, the rest was average and the ranch taste like hidden valley. Service was nothing special and they weren't even busy. read more

This is an update: The owner contacted me and rectified the issue. So, I'll be back. Hopefully they will keep jumbo crusts stocked up. This really is some tasty pizza. And it's unique in our market. The crust is thin but complex, as there are layers and bubbles around the edges. It really is the best in town. Bring a competitor's coupon. It doesn't matter what kind of deal is on the coupon. Pizzaville gives a fixed discount for particular sizes. Old review: I'm done. This has been my family go to since the 70's. Every time I've come, in the last year or so, they're out of jumbo crusts. It doesn't matter what day of the week or if they have the large special going. Tonight, I try again for a jumbo, with a coupon, as they take those from competitors. They're out. I need a lot of pizza and I'm short on cash, so I ask if they can somehow cut me a deal on 2 large. NOPE. OK, I ask if I can use my 1 coupon for 2 large. I'm in a hurry and only have one. NOPE. It's an hour before closing so there's no manager to speak to. I don't go around expecting to wheel and deal for my food. But I expect a company who can't seem to ever fulfil an order to somehow make amends. I expect better service than this. In recent years, there is finally a competitor with pizza that is VERY similar to pizzaville and is a LOT cheaper. I guess pizzaville would rather that I take my business there. So sad. A lot has changed since coming here as a kid. Celebrated most of my birthdays here, even my 21st. I've seen a lot of employees come & go. The pizza just doesn't taste the same anymore. The cracker crust has always been my favorite but lately it's been more doughy, like it wasn't cooked long enough. The chicken & wedges are still amazing, though! This is strictly about the service I encountered while trying to recover my credit card. I like the food well enough to come here last Saturday to pick up a pizza. Unfortunately I forgot my credit card at Pizzaville. I discovered this on Sunday. I called Pizzaville and the person I talked to said that they had seen the credit card but were not able to find it at this time. I was given the number to the office. I called that number and left a message asking for a call back. I went to Pizzaville on Monday to try to get my card. The guy at the counter said that if the card wasn't by the register he could not help me. I told him that I had called on Sunday and someone had told me that they had seen my card. He asked for the name of the person I had spoken to. I said I didn't know and once again he said he couldn't help me. I asked him to call the owner and he could tell us who worked on Sunday. He refused. At this point another young man said he would check. He went into the back, came back and asked for my ID. I showed him and he went in the back and returned with my credit card. I called the Pizzaville office again and left a message reporting the behavior of the person who wouldn't even attempt to help me. I received a return call about 5 minutes from Robert Green. He said it wasn't their fault that I had left my card. He also said that they were too busy to check for my card. I guess he doesn't care about the behavior of the people working for him. It also makes me wonder if they were not going to return my card. I've always liked the food at Pizzaville, but there are other places where the employees are actually helpful. read more

Basic pizza is very good...old school.oven makes a nice crispy crust. Combonation pizza is lacking flavor..tater wedges were soggy..sadly they were out of hot wings..though it was after 9pm. The pepperoni pizza is super good..the staff is always very polite. Time for a remodel though as the interior still smacks of 1981. read more

You would be hard pressed to find a better thin crust pizza anywhere. The sauce is fresh and tangy, the toppings are standard, but the crust is where this pizza shines. It is a thin cracker crust that delivers on taste without being too much. They do use a traditional pizza oven which only adds to the fantastic flavor. We have eaten here numerous times and they are always consistent. If someone doesn't like the pizza here I would assume it is because they prefer thick doughy crusts. If that is what you have become accustomed to then this place is not for you. I would have given 5 stars, but the atmosphere, while being quirky and straight from the 70's, is kind of dirty. The TVs look to be flat screens from the early 90s that the owner has no interest in updating. So if you go to watch the game be prepared for a horrible picture. When you walk in it feels like you have gone back in time 25 years. Aside from the less than stellar atmosphere, the only other complaint would be the salad could use some improvement. They could add a few more veggies and maybe a more substantial selection of lettuce other than just iceberg. If you like traditional pizza and not these new doughy, rolling oven places then you will love Pizzaville! We do! read more

Wow, today I ordered a combination to pick up and they suggested pineapple so I consented. Then I asked for yellow cheddar, it was marvelous! I missed so many restaurants while in Ventura County, we really are blessed in Bakersfield to have so many long-standing eateries that are so dang consistent! I remember as a 6 year old I would watch people play pool when they had the Auburn store. Both stores had the smell of their distinct recipe wafting to greet you at the squeaky doors I loved so much. It was the first time I heard that song "I shot the Sheriff" and it really shocked me, lol, but I was only 6! Today I had the most amazing pizza I've ever had, literally. Horrible customer service. On hold for 10 minutes. Standing here for 10 more minutes after the 25 minutes they told me it would take to make my pizza and chicken. The pizza came out right when I got her and they are letting it sit there and get cold because they are "waiting on chicken" despite there being multiple boxes of chicken sitting right there and me asking if that is my pizza. I came on a Wednesday night and it was packed, which is probably a good sign. We had a big order, since we were with a lot of people, and the pizza came out quick. The pizza was "ok", but their chicken is actually really good. However, it's super loud in there, their tables need major upgrading, and it's a small place. I came to Pizzaville for the first time after constantly hearing how phenomenal it was. I was not disappointed! Not only was the staff super friendly and efficient, but they politely listened to my hundred annoying questions with a smile and many suggestions. At one point, the manager was called over to answer a question I had and he was so welcoming and helpful; I did not feel like a nuisance or a hindrance.
