Service and ambiance here are great! Been ordering and dining in for the past 5 years here, and we've not once been disappointed. Pizzas are thin crust, have a good variety of toppings and they put a good amount of whatever toppings you choose + they're flavorful and tasty. This is one of our top pizza joints & we will drive an hour for pizza when we're in the mood for some. Other pizza places hurt my stomach, i don't know if it's the oils, cheese, or quality of their food? But this place sets well with me and that's a huge plus aside from everything else. read more

A busy Friday evening - therefore a loud atmosphere but the waitress made up the loudness by excellent service;. Always updating us in status of food and drink refills. The chicken Parmesan with pasta was large enough serving for 2 people. The meatballs and pasta too was a large portion. Both dishes were delicious- best food I had in the past 4 days of travel. My family and I ate here this past winter over a skiing trip. A great pizza/ Italian food spot in Driggs to visit if you're looking for dinner out. We tried the pizza and thought it was decent. Great service from Kyle. Amazing food. Nice way to celebrate our anniversary. Every inside table was taken late on a Saturday night and even one patio table though it was cool. We ordered Caesar salad and frisée salad with oranges, goat cheese, slivered almonds and citrus vinaigrette; calamari; cream of tomato soup with basil and fried mozzarella sticks; hot buttery sourdough rolls; fettuccine Alfredo with fresh peas; chicken Parmesan with fettuccine; then finally light cheesecake with chocolate drizzle. The nicest people and the best pizza! This place had the most delightful downtown presence. The conversations were wonderful! Our waitress, Claudia, was fabulous!! We ordered breadsticks and two build your own pizzas. Not only was it delicious, it was very inexpensive. The hand tossed crust reminded me of Italy. We loved the choice of outdoor or indoor seating. We were in town for one night and Alpino was recommended to us. Restaurant had a simple vibe. Employees were friendly. Now to the food: I ordered the red wine risotto. The menu appeared to list the ingredients, except one which was onions. To me that is a pretty big one to leave out of the description. Once I received it I immediately saw the onions which is a no go for me. I confirmed with our waiter and he said yes it has onions. I pointed out on the menu that it did not list onions. He apologized and offered to have another dish made. I asked for the fettuccine Alfredo. Waiter confirmed that had onions too. WHAT? I've had Alfredo hundreds of times, never with onions. He said they could make it without, which I appreciated. After about 15 minutes I got my meal. It was very good. Secondly, we order the cannoli for dessert. It had a beautiful presentation. After a few bites it appears that filling of the cannoli was like a whipped cream. Nice but not much flavor. Maybe for most people the food would have been fine. read more

Tonight, I took my daughter and toddler grandson out to dinner at Alpino. We arrived at 7p and was seated promptly. Waiter was gracious, gave menu recommendations, and took our orders. The fried calamari and chilled corn soup came out fast but after that, we waited and waited... After 30 minutes, Grandson got antsy so we stepped out on the deck. Waitress Claudia told us we couldn't stand there because the wait staff needs to be able to run food out. We moved to the ramp and Claudia said we could not block any walkways. So we went back to our table. More than 45 minutes passed and still no pasta or pizza on the table. We did not want to bother other diners inside so we sat with him on the waiting bench to play with 2 matchbox cars. The waitress Claudia (not our waitress by the way) approached and very rudely ask if we were done with our table and told us off in front of all the other guests that we could sit on the bench either because that's where people wait to be seated. We looked around and there was NO ONE else waiting to be seated! That's when I approached our waiter to ask how much longer for our food? I was not talking to Claudia but she took the liberty of telling us "waiting 20 minutes for our food is normal and should be expected." So I calmly asked my daughter and grandson to wait for me in the car while I settled the bill and continued to wait for the food to go. At 8:20p, I was handed our food! During my visit to Driggs this week, we have had NO problems eating with my Grandson at Forage, King Fish, Teton Thai and Citizen 33. Despite tonight's long wait, we would have not complained because our table's waiter was professional and polite. Claudia, on the other hand, was unnecessarily rude and off-putting. It was clear, she wanted us to go! I travel and I write restaurant reviews. I, myself, used to be a server so I keep in mind, the service staff works hard. That said, this is the first time I have ever written a bad review about a waitstaff! Was the food good? Yes. But I will not return because of Claudia's attitude. John the owner did offer his apology once he noticed what had happened. John also acknowledged the time on his watch. I hope John will have a talk with Claudia. The restaurant tonight was not full. All Alpino guests should be treated with kindness and welcomed. No member of the waitstaff should be exempt from that high bar standard. read more

Pizzeria Alpino is a gem in Driggs! Everything brought out to us was homemade and oh so fresh. The tomato basil soup was killer and came served with a crispy mozzarella stick--delicious! The pizza was fantastic with a light but hearty crust and fresh mozzarella and basil. The restaurant itself is very quaint and cozy. The servers are friendly and don't hover. This is by far the best restaurant in Driggs. Tonight, we had the Buttermilk Calamari, Rocket Caesar salad, Braised Lamb Shank, Marsala with strip loin and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was FANTASTIC. They've got great gluten free options on the menu for those who can't do pasta or pizza, and the service is amazing. This place is great for both families AND date night. Got 4 pies and a caesar salad. YUMMY. A pizza is nothing without a good crust and Alpino's is crisp and has good texture. Salad was good as well but the pizza was the star of the show.
