I moved from Connecticut to Kansas 12 ago, and every day I miss this g-darn pizza. There's talk of a new pizza place opening up here that will serve New Haven-style pizza; memories of pizza from Da Vinci will be what I will be mercilessly comparing that hapless new restaurant to. 11/10, sometimes I think about their baked potato and/or their shrimp scampi pizza and cry. They were always happy to accomidate my request for a thicker crust on my pizzas, and never looked at me like a godless heathen with no taste. read more

Very good pizza. Most of my life I lived near New Haven and I am a big fan of the New Haven 3. Now I am living in Higganum. Pizzeria Da Vinci's pizza is to close to New Haven style. The sauce and toppings are great. I finsh every slice, including the crust. While living in Higganum, Pizzeria Da Vinci is my go to pizza spot. read more

We get the pizza here quite often for work functions given how close it is. While I have had inconsistent experiences with their pizza (sometimes it is spot on, other times it is just a bit too burnt), I have recently discovered that they have some killer grinders. It was a late night at work and I had decided to treat my team to some dinner. One guy ordered the Italian Combo and the other a Chicken Cutlet. Much to my surprise, they gushed about the freshness of the bread and the bountiful ingredients. Given how excited they were, I knew I had to try it for myself. The next day, I ordered the 6" Italian Combo sub and waited with bated breath. After biting into the juicy sub, I was pleased to find that it was packed with meat and held together by a truly fresh bun. It had lived up to the hype - though perhaps a bit more provolone or even mayo to cut the sharpness of the meats would have been nice. I will likely be ordering from here again as these grinders are both a solid value (only $5.50 for a 6") and just flat out tasty! read more

Pizza was fine but the garlic bread was absolutely disgusting wasn't cooked all the way and was absolutely loaded to the brim with their garlic butter and wasn't even busy tonight also had a "35" minute wait time for a small pizza garlic bread and a premade chef salad. The specialty pizzas are fabulous. Hands down the best buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had (lots of Bleu cheese crumbled on top...mmm). And the grinders and wraps are not bad either. There are always online coupons available too, so be sure to check out their website before you go. However, the speed of service leaves much to be desired. I ordered a buffalo chicken grinder the other day, late afternoon on a Sunday. Should not have been a busy time. Was told it would be a 20 minute wait. Arrived and was told it wasn't ready yet. There were three guys working, but no one seemed to be hustling and they didn't appear to be that busy. We order here every couple of months and this latest experience was by no means unique. DaVinci has been my go to pizza for years. Unfortunately over the last year things have slipped. They burnt my pizza once and wouldn't admit it. Left me waiting in the frigid restaurant for 20 minutes while they snuck a new one into the oven. Tonight I ordered a white pizza with broccoli. Menu states white pizza includes mozz, fresh garlic, spices and romano cheese. No, it did not The pizza came with mozzarella and broccoli. Very bland. May have to go back to AJs. Good thin crust pizza with fresh ingedients. They have some great specialty pizzas including the DaVinci which is mozarella topped with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, feta cheese and spices. Other favorites include the BBQ Chicken and the Pesto. They have grinders and salads too but they dont excite me. I am disappointed everytime I get a salad from here, the lettuce vs topping ratio is poor. read more

The pizza here is great for what I've tried so far. It reminds me very much of pizza I've had back in brooklyn or over NYC. They have a very good lunch special deal where you can get two slices and a soda for $5. That beats most places. I definitely recommend this pizzeria for pizza. read more

Evrything I get from Da Vincis is always delicious, they do not skimp on toppings and I don't eat crust, but their crust I will actually eat, it's delicious! My favorite pizza is the Philly cheesesteak and the buffalo chicken wrap is a perfect mix of buffalo and bleu cheese. I would highly recommend them to anyone read more

the pizza is good but inconsistent. I like my toppings evenly spread over the dough. DaVinci in Higganum just "throws" them on. The result is Pizza with "bare" spots. There needs to be some serious training on how to make pizza. read more

Great Italian style pizza. Much better than dinos down the street, too greasy for me. I'm not the biggest fan of think crust but the buffalo chicken special is great. If in higganum you should definatley choose davincis read more

Pizzeria DaVinci is part of the small chain which has quickly sprung up in CT's smaller towns. The pizza here is pretty good and so are the sandwiches. Some creative sandwichs and pizzas on the menu. Nice thin crust style. read more

This was one of our go-to places when we're too tired to cook/clean up afterwards, but no more. The past couple of years, both the service and the food have steadily gone downhill. There's a young woman who sometimes takes phone orders; she sounds miserable and she's rough to speak with--especially at the end of a long day. I could almost forgive that part, but the food has has been so burnt it's inedible. I'm not exaggerating here--last nite I took a bite out of a $10, tossed it in the trash and had popcorn instead. Usually perfect, I ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza. 95%-100% it's f-Ing awesome!!!!! And a couple times I request a few defects like-I like it well done I asked for well done I got it burnt! Then I ask for well done I get it under cooked . but not burnt! Well u get it but it looks amazing..... buttttttttttt then I find out that they drenched it with ranch.....it's good but not amazing!
