We tried Pizzeria Otto for the first time last weekend. We ordered a gluten-free sausage, mushroom pizza and it was among the best GF crusts we've had. Could use a bit more sauce but the toppings were generous and the taste was excellent. We also ordered a large chopped salad and we were a bit underwhelmed. There was an ample amount of, potentially, interesting ingredients but, overall, the whole thing was bland and pretty tasteless. I'm guessing most of the ingredients were over-chilled in the fridge. As far as service goes, we knew from the jump that this was a self-serve restaurant with a fast food vibe. They do bring out your pizza, beverages and salads so that's helpful. The food has strong potential, but the grand opening was very disappointing. While the menu looks great, I did not get to taste the pizza on site because it never arrived. After a very long wait, we had to leave and take the pizza to go instead. An item we tried to ordered was unavailable, which should not happen at a grand opening. Inventory and planning were clearly lacking. Food came out one item at a time with long gaps in between. The pacing was so poor that we never received our full order before leaving. The biggest issue is logistics. Timing, execution, and basic operations were not under control. This is especially frustrating given that this is their third restaurant. At this stage, they should know how to run an opening smoothly. If a restaurant is not fully prepared, it should delay opening. A grand opening sets expectations, and this one missed the mark. We will have to come back when they finally get it together. I'm really hoping this pizzeria will do well and I see a lot of potential. The staff were very friendly and accommodated the best they could. We were happy to learn that Pizzeria Otto took over Oven and Shaker's location. Let me start by saying that I really like Pizzeria Otto's pizza and salads. Sauce is quite good, ingredient options (both choose ur own and their specials) are a step up, especially for the LO area. I have some thoughts to share that keep me from scoring them higher: This place is ridiculously expensive imho: I spent $44 for 2 beers and a 12-13" pizza tonight. I ate outside and when the pizza came out, the waiter told me the plates, napkins and etc were over by the wall (zero offer to set me up - and the dyi table prep was not clear). Top it off with the "always present" bus your own dishes request. Almost $50 = good pizza but fast food level interactions at the table One other note, while I'm writing... I've had maybe a dozen pizzas from Otto so far and every one of them could have done with another 4 mins in the oven to stiffen up the base crust. A 16" slice of NY pizza requires a fold tuck to eat with one hand... a 12" slice should not require 2 hands. Will I go back? Hell yeah. Will they figure out who I am and flag my pizzas? A solid place to get some wood fired pizzas in town. They took over the Oven and Shaker spot. The interior is spacious as before with both interior and exterior seating. You order at the counter first and then find a seat. We ordered the Diavola (a slightly spicier pizza) and the special Funghi E Saliccia pizza. I was very upset when I learned that Oven & Shaker was leaving. But honestly, Otto feels like an upgrade for the area. Huge win for me is that the have kids pizzas, which is great when you want to go out for food with the family and don't want to break the bank. Lake Oswego has long been a great place to hang your hat, but a lousy place to eat. Folks wanting excellent wood-fired pizza would have to decamp for Portland and deal with I-5. Well, no more. Local PDX vendor Pizzeria Otto has opened a location here in LO, and I'm thrilled. Pizzas are beautiful, hand tossed dough with high end toppings. They're pretty large--my wife and I could easily have split one, two produced abundant leftovers. Service was friendly and quick at a Saturday lunch. The salads are outstanding, as well. Huge and delicious. The location in Mercato Grove has been a real struggle for a lot of food establishments. Time will tell if LO is ready for a pizza place that produces high end pies aimed at an adult clientele in a place with lackluster parking. (Pro tip... there's a parking garage that folks seem to forget to use... the surface lot is only a fraction of the available space.) Please support this place--it's awesome. read more

Genuinely one of the worst pizzas i've ever had. Pepperoni pizza had enough oil to fry an entire chicken whole, and the Salami honey pizza was tasteless??? And the food wasn't the only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth , the waitress had a really weird attitude and kept repeating an instructional spiel. The place that was here before this was fire , don't waste your time , go to the Oven and Shaker in Portland or Maiale Rose in Beaverton. Please just look at these photos bro it's laughable. We really wanted this place to be our new local pizza spot. We ordered at the counter and tipped 20% and sat down. Went to try the pizza here today for lunch . The place itself is kind of cool with big framed art and a cool bar. We tried to order the pizza half cheese and half pepperoni. My daughter likes cheese and I like pepperoni. The order taker refused to make the pizza this way . I said it was simple just don't put pepperoni on one side . I don't need two pizzas . She again refused and said we are staying true to the way they make pizza in Italy. Pepperoni or no pepperoni. No half and half. I mean I was about to leave because of the silly elitist behavior but stayed against my better judgement. We ordered the cheese . It was okay. The pizza seems undercooked like some have said . You also have to get your own plates , your own silverware and napkins and bus your own table . So I guess tip accordingly! I ordered 4 pizzas and a salad from Otto's the day before Christmas Eve, when I had a house full of people. The pizzas were a good size for the price and everybody loved them. The vegetarian was the standout! The previous location had a policy of no take out orders when they were busy! No wonder they went out of business! I liked Pizzeria Otto and I really hope they can make a go of it. There is plenty of parking in the garage! I ordered on the internet which was so easy, so I didn't go inside, but my husband was glad to report that they have no hightop tables, so lots of floor level seating. read more

Odd thing to be stingy on especially given what your house wine is. The pizza was undercooked and lacked flavor.
