We've tried to find the best pizza around in the area, and so far this is becoming our favorite. We highly recommend the signature pies that have made this place so popular. Namely, the Pho Pizza with its delectable brisket, hoisin and veggie ingredients, in addition to the Banh Mi Pizza with barbecue pork, daikon, carrots and jalapenos. What seems questionable at conception becomes absolutely delicious in execution. These pizzas are Neapolitan style, made in high temperature brick ovens, and with a crust that is the nice blend of crispy & chewy at the same time. It's definitely cleverness that somehow works, and is not just a gimmick. Parking seemed a little tricky. I guess they have a lot, but we found it easier to find a spot on the street. We've ordered their pizzas via Uber Eats as well, but we would strongly recommend dining at the restaurant. Service was busy but efficient. Interesting fact: "Hapa" is originally a Hawaiian word that means a person of blended ancestry (typically, half-Asian). However, no Hawaiian pizza is on the menu here. read more

Had Hapa Pizza on our list of restaurants to try out while we were in town for vacation. Before heading out, I called them twice to feel out the situation. The calls went straight to voicemail stating they were most likely busy with other customers. Drove out to the restaurant and when we arrived about an hour before close, we were greeted with a sign that said they had Sold Out. The employees were in the restaurant already starting to clean up for the end of the day. I can't really say anything about the food, since we didn't try it, but this was a pretty bad customer experience due to the communication gap. Finally got to try Hapa Pizza today and we were definitely not disappointed but also not 5 star wow'd either. Service is on the slower side even on a non-busy day (Saturday @6:30pm, surprising I know) but I get it, everything is made to order... Items we ordered: -Tom Yum Caesar Salad - Pho Pizza -Tom Yum Pizza The pho pizza was the only standout dish for us as it was unique and different. Their pizza dough was chewy, fragrant, all of the toppings including the brisket was fresh and tasty. Tom Yum Pizza wasn't as exciting. Needless to say, we've had better in Long Beach, CA where the tom yum flavors and ingredients really pulled through. This pizza was garnished with some French's crispy onions and cilantro on a lost sauce.. shrimp, unseasoned. Lastly, salad, meh- skip. Again, tom yum flavors had no depth and was just lost in the salad. I would try the kimchi burrata next time instead. Overall, it's a 3.5 stars for us- maybe if we have another experience it will be better next time. We shall see! read more

My daughter loves this place, so she wanted to bring us here for pizza. Hubs and I are from the Chicago area, so we have definitive ideas about pizza. We took a deep breath in and agreed to branch out. This pizza was delicious! Fresh! Definitely wood fired and thin, but not soggy. We ordered a pepperoni and added mushrooms, which were wild mushrooms. And yum! Pepperoni was crisped on the edges. The pho pizza had a nice Chinese five spice flavor with a sweet glaze as well. Came here with some friends who have been here before. I love the idea of fusion pizza and they nailed it. My wife and I split the charsiew and the green curry pizza. I think both had their pros and cons. The green curry felt like it embodied green curry on a pizzal however it was a lot of the same flavors. On the other hand the char siew had many different components, but felt less like a cohesive dish. Althoug hits hard to say what exactly makes char siew a dish, since it's usually just a meat. I want to say that the food is genuinely enjoyable and I think they bridge the gap between pizza and asian food well. However, while we were there they did forget our order and it was about an hour in when every other table started getting their food that we started getting concerned. We went on a Thursday evening (7:15ish); the place was somewhat busy but our food came in a reasonable time (15-20 minutes). Great pizza with unique flavors. I was pleasantly surprised to see a pizza with beef larb on it. I've never seen that before and it was SO GOOD! A great balance with the herbs and bits of charred crust. It's such a perfect fusion, done so well that I can't wait to take my parents and grandma here. My friend and I ordered two pizzas to share since we wanted to try out the flavors, ate nearly every bit. I also got to try their yuzu ranch which I was so curious about. Gosh, why does Portland have so many great pizza places?!? The daughter just introduced us to this Asian inspired pizza place and we were blown away. The flavors come from much loved Asian foods in pizza form with dough that is so chewy and crisp that you know it wasn't an afterthought. We ordered their Korean inspired burrata salad, a huge piece of fresh mozz over Korean style cucumbers and topped with tomato and crispy bits. Super creamy and delicious. We then had their bahn mi, pho and beef larb pizzas. The flavors were spot on with the herbs and fillings you would find in the actual dishes. So super delicious and authentic. Hubby used to have a favorite pizza from another Portland standard, but these guys just won top spot for him. We were able to chat with the owner who was especially kind and friendly. I've been wanting to try this place for a bit, because the reviews and images look so great. I had really high expectations for this pizza and the overall experience. We ordered our food for delivery so maybe that's the problem. Perhaps we should have dined in. While the pizza was very flavorful, truly, the flavor was on point for the pho, margarita and diavola pizzas, I found the dough to be soggy. One of my favorite pizza spots in the Portland area, and there's a TON of them! This time I got the Portland pizza week pizza because it sounded too interesting not to try- Apple butter, apple compote, mint, shiso, miso vinaigrette, whipped lemon ricotta, finished with house taro chips for crunch. It was incredibly delicious, the perfect balance of sweet, umami, creamy, and crunchy. There aren't many places that could pull off a pizza with such an amazing balance of bold and subtle flavors. We were visiting family in the suburbs and looking for dinner. Found Hapa Pizza through an Eater article! We ordered for pickup and got the pho, Banh mi, and Diavola pizzas. The pho and banh mi were my fav! I was skeptical but the flavors were really good. It's kind of amazing how well they captured the flavors onto a pizza! The diavola was good, but more "normal" flavor that I've had at other places. Got the tom yum and banh mi pizza. After hearing all the rave about banh mi, thought I'd like it more than tom yum but I was wrong. The tom yum has such a deep, bold flavor that all comes together very well. The banh mi was good but on the sweeter side. The crust is good, but not a fan of the crust having burnt areas on it. Definitely have to fold the pizza to be able to eat it without toppings falling off. The Pork Belly Kimchi has to be one of my favorite new age pizzas I have ever tried. It didn't need any sauce or alteration in any way with the perfect amount of flavor, spice, and such beautiful lightness in the crust (while still maintaining integrity). When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, the place was already packed with a line forming out the front door. This had me worried about the possible wait time but the person at the POS was very efficient, friendly, and informative with the menu and their offerings. We were able to find a table and get seated but the space is fairly limited, sitting with more than a party of four might be difficult at this establishment. Came here for the first time on a cold February Friday afternoon, right before opening at 11:30am. It seems the hype had faded, thank goodness, but we still stood outside anyways. Now let's get to the Hapa hype! : PARKING / DINING / ATMOSHPHERE : There's only a few (less than 10) spaces in the parking lot behind the place. Otherwise, it'll be street parking. They have a couple of patio tables, and about six small tables inside. It's not a huge shop, so just keep that in mind. But for the most part, the place was clean and there wasn't any heavy decor. It was pretty much chill just being here. And might I add, with the stonefire oven going in the back, you can smell the magic! Gotta love that dough! :: PIZZA :: Pho Pizza ($21): OH man the reviews were right , as many have mentioned. It does taste like you're eating pho! I took one bite and said, "HOLY SMOKES, WHAT the PHO???" You can taste the meat, bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro, jalapeños and a drizzle of hoisen sauce. All together, aww man like pho. On a nice airy and fluffy crust. Bánh Mì Pizza ($21): My friend had this one, but shared a slice, and it had the same effect. Like, "What tha Bánh Mì am I getting into???" Was i eating a sandwich or a pizza? The pork, the carrots, the sauce all up in that crust was like wow! I'm eating a bành mi. Made me wonder if they've ever added Vietnamese pate... I'll have to come back and ask. Sausage and Gai Lan Pizza ($23): Now this, we both loved the most! I think the sauce, cilantro, and the green onions were tasty on top. But that Chinese sausage with that gai lan combination made this pizza off tha hook! That's where the flavor kick was! This one was memorable. Oh, and I forgot to mention that all the pie crust held up very well too. And I washed it all down with a Thai Iced Tea ($4). They did have local beers on the menu, I just want in the mood. Welp, that just about sums it up. Their menu is small, but simple. Excellent service! And their pizzas are distinctively unique. I'll definitely be back because I was also eyeing that Khao Soi Pizza and Burrata Salad everyone keeps raving about. Good stuff! These guys are a winner in my book! read more

We can't wait to come back here! Super friendly and attentive, clean, great music and decor. REALLY great pizza crust. (Maybe the best pizza crust we have had.) We had the Banh Mi pizza and the Korean Burrata salad which were both delicious. Paired really well with the IPA we ordered too. We live close by and found them by searching for pizza near me!
