I went here in fulfillment of a long anticipated and overdue visit: boy was I disappointed. Do note I come from NYC, so I have a certain style pizza bias that I prefer. That being said, I do appreciate a good Portland pizza. However, this pizza (I got a margarita because the simplicity allows the craft to shine through - good for a first visit to assess the kitchen skills and ingredients) was a poor take on a NY style pizza. I found neither the sauce, cheese nor crust anything to write home about - but it is worthwhile to mention on Yelp that none of it made a positive impression. I also found the interior of the establishment had an unpleasant odor, something which is probably due to an inadequate venting system or to much grease in the food, even when the double doors were wide open to provide nice air circulation: it is baked in at this point. A unique business arrangement exists at this venue: The bar is run separate from the pizzeria. I was disappointed in the curating of the taps - way to many taps dedicated to the big brewers micro labels and not much more. The breadth of the beer/ale types also was not well represented (ie: porters, hazy, east coats, ...). I have to give the tap selection a 2 star due to the fact they do have a fair number of taps and some dedicated to ciders,... and the pizzeria's pizza a 1 star - I did not enjoy the food experience - I believe a step above frozen before a home chef applies some kitchen magic. read more

We had a planned outing with family to watch the Xmas ship parade on the Willamette River. While in the St. Johns neighborhood we stopped by for dinner at The Integrity Beer Hall/48 North Pizzeria. You will find the Pizzeria/Tap house off of S. Virginia St and S. Macadam Ave. They have ample outdoor seating in front of the main building and on the backside of the build for a more simi private space. The indoor seating area is very ample, they have bar top tables, large extended bench style tables within the dining area and regular 4 chair tables. In the front left corner of the dining area they have an ample stage where local performers play music while you eat. You will also find a few pinball tables, video games on the main wall of the room and in the far right corner of the building you will find the beer tap area where they have an ample selection of microbrews. Parking is mostly street parking, be mindful of where you park, you will notice a lot of do not park signing. The Menu has a good variety of Vegan and non Vegan options. We ordered the Garlic Knots, with your choice of dipping sauce (warning the dipping sauce is not warm), but that aside the Knots are worth the try, large size, well baked and tasty, we also had the Kale Arugula salad- kale, arugula, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, tossed with a house made honey lemon dressing. Very good sized salad and extremely tasty, they have a variety of other salad options. Our main dishes were the Supreme Medium Pizza with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, Italian sausage, pepperoni, onions, green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, great tasting, lots of veggies, we also ordered a small Beer Cheese pizza with stout made beer cheese, mozzarella cheese, crispy bacon, prosciutto, jalapenos, red onions, the jalapenos are spicy so beware. All of the food had great flavor, good sized portions and the veggies were fresh with a great tasting pizza dough which was nicely cooked, not overdone. We washed it down with a few beers while we listened to some blues music from the local performer. It was a very welcoming and chill vibe. The pricing was fair to medium depending on the size of the pizza, by the time we left it was very busy, folks were starting to stand by the door as they waiting for a table. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Dogs are allowed. If you are in the area and want to drop by this local food joint, I would highly recommended it. read more

We came here after we played tennis nearby. There's literally something for everyone. My friend and I were looking forward to the vegan options, another friend is gluten free and my sister is good with all the options! Parking is on the street and we had no issues parking. We went inside to place our order, given a number for our table. We opted to eat outside since it was lovely out. I noticed they had a space outside the back door that was more private too. I got vegan BBQ wings and they were tasty. I got vegan garlic knots also to share. My friend got a spicy vegan sausage pizza that I tried a little of, and yep, it's spicy! The server was very friendly. The inside of the restaurant was spacious with pinball machines. The only thing, there weren't any vegan desserts. My sister ordered a sticky bun thing, it looked tasty. While we were outside waiting for our order to be brought out, my sister wondered where her sticky bun was. When server came out to bring some of our order, my sister asked, and the server was like, oh yeah you ordered that! She brought out a brownie with white frosting and sprinkles. My sister was confused and I told her to take it inside. She said it was fine. She took it home and took a bite and didn't like it. But her husband and his brother loved it. We ordered the Pepperoni Sausage Stromboli, 1/2 Vegetarian Pizza 1/2 Beef & Mushroom Pizza, 1/2 Pepperoni Pizza 1/2 Pineapple Pizza and Garden Salad. Well there isn't a lot in John's Landing... so this is your spot if you want a non McMenamins option. That being said, the pizza slices are reasonably priced and decent in size. They have a rotating special that varies each day. The bathrooms are clean and the outdoor patio is quite expansive. I enjoy the pinball machine that they have and the tap list is pretty legit. The service isn't fast but it's courteous. It's the right cadence for a casual meal when you aren't in a rush. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood. Such an amazing neighborhood spot! The food is always on point and the menu is super impressive, from pizzas and calzones, to hot sandwiches and pastas. Everything I've had has been delicious but I'd highly recommend the build your own calzone. There's an extensive list of ingredients to choose from and this thing is delicious and huge! Inside the ambiance is great with plenty of TVs for sports lovers but there's also lots of events like trivia and live music happening throughout the week. AND, there are amazing drink options with a bunch of beers and ciders on tap. Finish it off with great service and this is a can't miss spot. We picked up two pizzas, pesto chicken, and the spinach walnut salad from the John's Landing location tonight. OH MY GOD. My sister and I are very particular, and both of these were amazing. The crust and the flavor of the pizza, and the freshness and dressing on the salad were so good. I wish I would have know about this spot before. Also, my sister has had previously the garlic knot, and apparently those were outstanding as well. I would give 5 stars but they forgot our dressing and I had to make another trip to pick it up. read more

Swung by on a whim to pick up a pizza for our Super Bowl party. The gal who got me my pie was super friendly, and the space looked cool, with a funky basement party room vibe, but better lighting. There's a bunch of TVs on the wall and a bar in back, and I guess they share the space with Integrity Brewing. Anyway, the pizza was a delightful, hand-tossed Margherita with a nice crisp crust (but not thin) and lots of nicely seasoned sauce and a good cheese ratio. Definitely not Dominos! And it was a hit with our group. 48 looks like a cool place to hang - a cross between a restaurant and a pub, so I'll have to come back and check the in-house experience another time. read more

We came here because an artist we like was performing there. I would call this a pizza, music, bar vibe. I think the owners told us they recently purchased the building next door to put in a bar? That will be cool. It is walk up, order, go sit down with a number and they bring your food to you. I think we made a mistake and did not order pizza. I had a dried out meatball sandwich and my girlfriend had a bland vegan sandwich. The meatballs are tiny, dried out and literally no flavor. Guess they forgot the "fresh basil" and opted for dried Italian herbs that was sprinkled way too liberally on everything. The salad also was not good. Just wilted kale that was not massaged and again sprinkled with way too much Italian seasoning. Also the meals came with bagged tortilla chips and some salsa. If there was complete separation (like it was when the last company ran the bar) it would make sense, start 2 tabs. However, every time I come here there is confusion about how the kitchen and bar communicate on the same tab. Everyone seems confused. If you want to be a legit pizzeria, integrate the bar and kitchen. read more

I ordered by app the evening of March 14th. First problem was that the app said the pizza would be ready in 15 minutes, which was inaccurate. 45 minutes later it still wasn't ready and the guy at the register wasn't interested in my problem, no doubt because the restaurant was busy. Surprisingly, one of the "chefs" overheard me talking to the manager and yelled at me to cancel the order. He then engaged me further in a verbally aggressive manner which I returned to him. I asked for a manager but was refused. The register guy said my order was cancelled and that I wouldn't be charged, which of course I was. Luckily my credit card company immediately cancelled it but there was no reason to go thru a dispute under these conditions. I'll obviously never return. I'm surprised I haven't written a review before. All the staff are super nice, and the Stromboli are always solid. Tried the kale arugula salad as an accompaniment today, and it was bright with acidity which jives well with my palate. I like the broad range of veggie and vegan options mostly because I love lots of veggies. I don't think I've ever had the pizza, sandwiches, pr pastas yet so more room for me to explore! I think they are the perfect food match for their cohabitator, Integrity Beer, and have something for everyone! read more

Have been here before and had a good experience with the pizza. Attended last night to enjoy the blues music, a beer and looking forward to good pizza again. The Margherita pizza was a disappointment, essentially pizza dough with a hint of sauce and cheese - it was a step above cardboard. We discussed whether we could be take the pizza home and salvage it; it was already dry and flavorless, so we left most of a pizza behind. Also ordered the Chicken Pesto pizza, the pesto part was delicious, however, there was no discernible chicken on the pizza, a shredded piece or two on the entire pie. Spent $50 on pizza. Disappointing. The place is enjoyable but I am not sure I would order pizza again after this epic fail. I hope it was a one off, an expensive one for certain. We're from L.A. and love going to Portland. The BBQ chicken pizza was the best we ever had. The wings were also good. The live band made it feel like a small town vibe. The cold beer was even better. They have local draft beers. Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere. It was raining that day and it made it even more special for us since we love the rain . I'm not kidding we've flown out to Portland from L.A. just for the pizza, hit the outlets to kill time and head back to L.A. when we can't stay a week which is usually what we do. This is a great neighborhood spot! Friendly staff:) Garlic knots are great, super soft. Meatball sub is simple, but tasty. That Buffalo Chicken Fettuccine is crazy good. Music was great on a Saturday night. Pizza was VERY disappointing, the chicken wings were so fatty and gristly- not even sure if it was chicken. I ate one and threw the rest out.
