Probably the best pizza I have ever had. We drove an hour after a day of skiing and it was worth it. Fancy yet they were cool with us wearing ski gear. If you are in SLC and love pizza you really should eat here. I don't remember what my bill was but the prices were very affordable. I love love love their pork belly, it is amazing and probably my favorite dish there. I have tried pretty much every pizza in the menu and my favorites are the one that has goat cheese and corn, and the one with speck and mozzarella cheese. The my wife and I regularly eat here and love it. The only reason I'm not giving it a five star rating is because this last time we went there we got 3 pizzas and two out of the three had really burnt crusts. This has happened to us once before. Other than the crust we love this place. Great atmosphere and thanks to the extension they added we can always go even on a weekend night and expect to be seated in less than 10 minutes. We didn't have a great experience with the food but the service was OUTSTANDING. The atmosphere was also very nice. Our servers name escapes me but he was so kind and courteous! He genuinely apologized and took our pizza off of our ticket. Our pizza was soggy and loaded with sauce. Thin crust brick oven pizza should never be either of those. Lured in by the photos of good-looking wood-fired pies on Yelp, we were pleasantly surprised to find this level of quality in Orem. With organic sourdough and a clear emphasis on bright fresh ingredients, it was clear to see a lot of love goes into these pies. The dough had a nice smokiness and was perfectly leoparded. It was spongy and doughy and springy to the tough - perfection. For us, the tomato sauce was bright and beautiful but erred on the sweet side with too much honey (on the marguerita). The mushroom pizza was executed well on crust, and the roasted mushrooms themselves were divine, but as a whole it lacked flavor and salt. There was no sauce whatsoever on this particular pie and it could have benefited from some garlic & olive oil or something to add flavor. The mushrooms had nothing to stick to so it was harder to eat, and the center just became soggy. If we ordered it again, we'd order the mushrooms on a Bianca style. The hand-stretched mozzarella and homemade ricotta were excellent touches. In the service department, they are lacking staff who know what they are doing and are markedly inefficient. We didn't get our beer until late in service, both the server and hostess kept trying to take one of our plates away while the other was still eating, and they kept asking about dessert while we were still eating our food. In spite of the sub-par service, we would definitely be back. It takes a really good dough starter and a very deliberate effort to make wood-fired pizza this special. read more

This used to be our favorite place. My siblings and I would meet up here for lunches and or weekend dinners all the time. The last several times the service has been lacking, the food quality has gone way down but yet they have increased prices. We ordered the short rib which is usually our favorite but tonight it was way over done with the entire outside being burnt. As well as the polenta was burnt. We ordered the arugula salad but half of the ingredients didn't match with what the menu said they would be. The two pizzas we ordered were just fine but nothing to write home about. We asked if they could make a smaller cheese pizza for a kid and they told us they couldn't because they didn't have the dough rolled out to do that which seems a bit silly when they could just choose to make a smaller one for us. Finally, when we asked for pepper for our arugula salad they came back with a small bowl of whole kernel peppercorns. We asked if they had a pepper grinder and they said no they're sorry they didn't. A few minutes later they came back with another bowl of some ground pepper and said they're sorry they brought us out the wrong pepper. By that time we had already moved past the salad. I know this is a long review but I guess for me it's all of the little things that add up to make it either a great dining experience or a not so great and in this case Pizzeria has gone way downhill. read more

Friends of mine convinced me to drive from Salt Lake City down to Orem just to eat hear. I have to say it was worth it. The food is amazing and the service was absolutely outstanding. This pizza is similar to real authentic pizza you would find in Italy. I frequently visit this restaurant and am always satisified with their menu. They update the menu frequently with new unique creations and they also have a dinner club once a month. I've gone once to the dinner club, but it was phenominal! They have a multiple course meal in which they serve dishes you usually cannot get in Utah County. They get all of their ingredients from local sources which make the dishes and pizzas taste fresh. Unique, non-chain restaurants like this don't usually survive in Utah, but I hope this one sticks so we can continue to get real food. read more

I love Pizzeria 712! The food is delicious, I haven't had anything there that I didn't like. The Margarita and the House Made Fennel Sausage are a couple of my favorites. The service has usually been good with only a couple of times with service that wasn't up to par. I gourmet pizza! I felt like I was eating a gourmet meal that was prepared as a pizza, and I was. Fantastically delicious tastes. The mozzarella was very rich and extremely high quality. 712? That's the temperature these delicacies cook at. I ordered the "hand pulled mozzarella, tomato sauce, garlic (shavings), ricotta, grabs padano (like parmesan), red pepper flake" pizza and added sausage for $2. Apparently this is a seasonally available pizza, as are several of their other options. The pizza is cooked in a beautiful and large brick oven. It's relaxing to watch the flaming logs and feel their warmth too. The crust almost seemed to be thin crust under the toppings and hand tossed at the outer edges. The spice was spot on, delicious, enduring, and yet never close to overwhelming. I've already raved about the cheese, but it was places on the pizza in blobs up to two inches across and up to two inches apart. I was a little worried about that as well as the outside edge of the topping area being mostly tomato sauce. But it was still delicious through and through and never seemed lacking. The sausage was well ground and sprinkled in clumps and was pretty tasty. Also, before my meal I was given pita bread and hummus dip that was surprisingly enjoyable. It tasted like a mildly spicy bean dip. Upon browsing the menu, I never spotted pepperoni or ham though. I was informed that there are some fancy named meats they offer that are very similar. No pineapple either which is a bummer since my wife often likes her food sweet. The location is a little odd. It's nestled into one of the two humongous and multi storied Mediterranean buildings. This is the only business here. The rest is apartments. And the northern building is unfinished because the builders ran out of money. I drove up and down looking for this place one night and couldn't fun it. You can't see it from the street. And there is a sign to draw your attention, but it's a fabric spread over something. It definitely didn't catch my eye. For some reason the city won't let them put up a real sign, which is ridiculous. Pretty sure their customers are coming from word of mouth, not the odd and inadequate sign. Hey guys, move to a location with better visibility (and sign) and watch your business grow exponentially. Or at least open a second location in a more visible area. Perhaps expand into downtown Salt Lake City. The ambience was a mix between a tad of artsy and a tad of homey. Some intriguing yet still tasteful art was fun to gaze at. Interesting and relaxing music played in the background mildly too. They have two unisex bathrooms (single occupant of course, haha). Beautiful and artsy. Lots of space. But they have reusable hand towels which I could never feel comfortable using, so I dried my hands on my shorts. Please put in paper towels or an air drier if you are trying to be environmentally conscious. The staff were all very friendly and seemed sincerely engaging. Especially Chris, who was my waiter.
