The place itself is so pretty and has such a great atmosphere, perfect for a date night. They have live music, which makes the experience even better. Everything we tried it was beyond delicious. The pizza had amazing flavor, the only thing I didn't like it was the affogato but it was just okay.

Delicious pizza including the gluten free crust. Their garlic smalls is a must have. Great vibe with live music on the large patio

Located in Midvale off of Main St, this should be added of your list of pizza places to check out. When inside it appears to pay homage to the movie The Sandlot..throughout the restaurant you find memorabilia and old photos from the movie. Adjacent to the dining area there is also a Cactus and Tropicals you can browse while you wait for your food. You place your order prior to sitting down and then it is cooked and brought.to.your table. They have a menu of choice or you can create your own. Pizza is great, staff friendly, and just a cool experience overall..its safe to say this is or should be in your top pizza places to check out in Utah.

I loved this place! There was a lot of hype about it and it lived up to the good reviews. The pizza was delicious. I added honey to my pepperoni pizza and ate the whole thing. The environment was great. Seat yourself, there was great live music. Will definitely be going back in the summer to use their patio!

The hype is real! The Bambino in Midvale is just as fantastic as everyone says. We absolutely loved everything we tried. We started with the Balsamic Pistachio Salad--amazing--and then shared The Peach pizza. I know, it sounds a little wild, but it was perfection. Both together were the lightest, most delicious lunch iv'e had in a long time. While we ate, we were already planning our next order (maybe something from the secret menu?). The place itself is super charming, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was very quick. BONUS! They have gelato inside. We didn't get any this time but I'm sure we will next time. Stop reading this review and just go check it out for yourself. I want to know which pizza you order!

Bambino was great tonight. I ordered the new truffle pizza they have and it was super good. Definitely something I'd order again. The atmosphere was awesome too. We ended up sitting outside and the weather was fairly good. The staff even brought over heaters for us. We didn't necessarily need them, but it made everything extra comfortable and showed they were paying attention to the guests. Overall a really good experience and I'd definitely come back.

The Bambino is great! This place gets busy pretty early so be aware of that! There's usually a line out of the door just to order and then to find a table. We had people hovering our table waiting for us to leave. The chicken on the Caesar was a little rubbery so I would pass on that add on since the salad itself was good with garlic croutons. The brussel sprouts came out last... like after almost our entire meal had been eaten. The pizzas as always were delicious!

The ambience is great, they allow dogs in their outdoor patio! We got the peach pizza and it was so tasty! The jalapeños add a good mild heat and the peach gives the pizza a nice sweetness.

I don't usually like thin pizza, but The Bambino has changed me! I've been craving their pizza ever since I tried it! My husband and I ordered the Mexican street corn pizza with garlic cheese bread. The flavors of the Mexican street corn were amazing! I would get that pizza again and again! The garlic bread blew my mind! Dipping it slightly in the ranch was my favorite way to eat it. I'd eat that all day if I could. We wanted to get dessert, but between garlic bread and a pizza, my husband and I were stuffed. We'll definitely be back to try more pizza though (and hopefully dessert)!

I've had this place on my list for a while, and I'm SO GLAD I finally made it! Loved the location, it was like a tiny little town's Main Street, and I loved the vibes right off the bat. The restaurant itself is open and welcoming, but then you see the beautiful patio, and you just can't decide where to sit! We ordered at the counter and sat outside, and enjoyed the late summer evening. It was perfect! Now the food was great. Excellent salad to start, the pizza was thin and light and delicious and different, and the dessert was the perfect finishing touch! Can't wait to go back and try everything else!

We tried The Bambino last Friday, and a lot went well. The cheese and margherita pizzas were delicious, and so was the Nutella gelato. The cheesy breadsticks were pretty good, but I think they would go better with ranch over red sauce. The servers forgot to bring out our breadsticks, but when we reminded them they not only gave them to us but also comped them. The ambience straddles special and casual (the decor is what I would call "rustic industrial"), so you could dine here on a variety of occasions. The patio is pretty neat and even has a fountain. But cigarette smoke wafted in through the open patio door, which is unpleasant. I also wonder if having a dog-friendly patio with a wide-open door is a good idea.

The Bambino serves authentic wood fire pizza that blows all other wood fire pizza in Utah out of the water. They're dough is light & fluffy while the sauce is full of flavor! Pies start at $16 and are definitely worth the price. In addition to pizza they offer a wide variety of desserts from gelato, to candy, to macaroon ice cream sandwiches. The interior of the restaurant is very modern with vintage photos that line the walls. Some of them pay homage to 1993's The Sandlot for which the restaurant is named. While you wait for your food you can play a fun memory game they have available at the front counter. And as an added bonus the restaurant is attached to Cactus & Tropical so you can walk through the plants after eating!

Cute space. You order at the counter and can sit in the restaurant or flower shop side. Server was friendly and I appreciate that the servers and chefs used gloves. Local musician playing. Salad was so delicious - pizza is thin crust. We got veggie and I found it very plain. I think they probably do better with unique flavors. Still ate everything!

Simply delectable. Our entrees were short rib ravioli and chicken mushroom ravioli. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a pinot noir sauce inside and out. Chicken mushroom ravioli was accompanied by a fresh and tastebud-satisfying basil pesto. All raviolis were made at order and generously filled. Pasta was a bit more al dente for the chicken from its shorter cooking time, but make mistake that both were perfect. Throughout our time, Susy came out and visited with us during different cooking stages. She shared stories about the rice she uses for her arancini (not arborio) to make it more authentic to its Sicilian roots, how tomatoes make the difference, and how she's adapted her recipes to maintain flavor in the more arid Salt Lake valley. You really feel invested in what you're about to enjoy when you learn how she works hard at all the details. It's safe to say that you'll likely be full when leaving, but none of it will feel heavy. You'll feel full of Susy's love for Sicilian and southern Italian food. It's too nice to be considered a hole in the wall, so let's call it a hidden gem. We started with the miso soup (a must have in the winter months) and shishito peppers, both were excellent. I used to be a big fan of Ika. I've brought countless friends here, I've raved about this place…read more Now I'm here to correct that mistake. The food quality has been slipping for months. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. That ends now. Today, we came as a group of five to celebrate my friend. What should have been a memorable evening became one of the most infuriating dining experiences I've had in years. After we sat down, our waitress was nowhere to be seen for 10-15 minutes. Even when we saw her, we flagged her down 3-4 times and were still ignored. I had to physically get up and chase someone down, and still waited another 5 minutes for someone to take our order. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant. The waitress never once asked me or my friend's mom for our drink order- completely skipped over us. And when drinks did come out, she brought the wrong one to my friend's mom. When we asked for water refills. She filled two glasses out of five and walked off, when my glass was near empty. She then dropped a plate on our table. Moments later, I reached for the food and she snatched it back saying it was for another table. Rude doesn't begin to cover it. We asked for an extra spoon, a completely normal request, and it was met with a dirty look, as if we had asked for something outrageous. When I asked for extra ginger, she placed it at the farthest corner of the table. Whether intentional or not, it felt extremely careless and rude. We ordered uni nigiri, which is not a cheap order. It arrived without seaweed. I've ordered uni nigiri many times here, and it's always come with seaweed. When I flagged it, they didn't remake it, just shoved the seaweed under the rice. An insult to a $20+ piece of nigiri. Throughout all of this, this waitress had a visible attitude toward every reasonable request. What made it worse is that I'm Asian myself, and it was clear she was specifically singling out me and my friend's mom above everyone else at the table. The dismissiveness, the hostility, the microaggressions felt pointed and deliberate. I can only call it what it is: racism and sexism. No one should have to feel targeted at a restaurant they've loyally supported for years. Ika has lost a longtime champion. I will be actively discouraging everyone I know from setting foot in this place. Save your money, your time, and your celebration, and go literally anywhere else. ***Update*** I'd like to clarify a few things since the facts were misrepresented by your response. Funny you bring up my arrival time as if that somehow discredits me. I let my group know I would be a few minutes late, and it was not even close to being an hour. What matters is that after I sat down, our entire group waited 10-15 minutes waving down staff and being repeatedly ignored. I then got up and spoke to a different staff member who was filling ginger by the bar, not even our assigned waitress, and she had to find someone else to help us. That is not "flagging rudely", that is a group of paying customers desperately trying to get basic service. Again, there were only three tables including us. You're welcome to review your security footage to verify this. You claim you were watching closely, but if you were running a restaurant, I find it hard to believe you had the bandwidth to monitor our table that carefully. If anything, that explains everything: you were short staffed, your team was stretched thinly, and your regular customers paid the price for it. That is a management failure, not a customer problem. You also never addressed how long the waitress took to take our orders, never asking me for my drink order, bringing my friend's mom the wrong drink, making a disgusted face when we asked for an extra spoon, dropping the wrong dish on our table and rudely snatching it away, and placing the ginger at the farthest end of the table. Funny how none of that made it into your response. Most importantly, you said nothing about your waitress's sexist behavior toward me and my friend's mother. We were singled out, dismissed, and treated with hostility that the rest of our table did not experience. That was the most egregious part of our visit and you chose to completely ignore it. The uni argument is not worth debating. Seaweed in nigiri is a global standard. Doubling down on that is just embarrassing. I even called that evening to provide this feedback directly, and was told the manager was not available and would call me back the next day. That never happened. Instead of having a conversation and being willing to listen, you chose to come onto Yelp and make this a personal attack against me. Our group was only there because of my recommendation. I was your advocate. That ends now, and so does any business I would have ever sent your way. Your response has only confirmed what kind of establishment this is. So as you said best, goodbye!
