Kids wanted pizza for lunch but the adults didn't. This was a happy medium as the menu had quite a few tasty, non-pizza items so we decided to check it out. We came around 1 on a Sunday and it wasn't crazy busy. There was a large patio option for seating, but it was 100 degrees outside so we opted to sit at their limited indoor seating. We ordered pretty basic 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 sausage pizza because *kids* and my husband and I ordered the balsamic pistachio salad with chicken and brussels to share. Everything we ordered had great flavor. Generous toppings on the pizza and the crust was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the pizza came out about 15 minutes before anything else and they were completely done eating before the adults got their food. Brussels sprouts came out next and were really under roasted to the point that they were almost not cooked at all, but the prosciutto and fig combination with them was flavorful. After asking about our salad they said there was an issue with the lettuce (?) and said they would add extra chicken. This salad is HUGE. We couldn't even finish it between the two of us which is a shame because it was delicious. They also gave us some complementary roasted potatoes for the inconvenience, but we were so stuffed we couldn't manage more than a bite. They were very good and we plan on throwing them on the blackstone and making breakfast burritos with them tomorrow. Our experience wasn't perfect, but the food was really good and the customer service was top-notch. Arrived on a Wednesday at 530. Ordered a Stromboli and a peach pizza with jalapeños and cheese along with a roasted beet salad. Came to $52.00. Ouch We got our pizza and's I was so disappointed in the peach pizza. 4 slices of canned peaches, one jalapeño sliced with seeds sprinkled on pizza, a ton of red sauce and a sprinkling of cheese and maybe 5 small slices of salami. I can get a 14" loaded pizza at The Pie for less. Stromboli was warm not hot and never got the beet salad. After my husband finished his Stromboli went to get a box for the leftover expensive pizza and here comes the beet salad. I told them I didn't want and could they could credit me back since a salad should have come as appetizer but instead got a boxed beet salad. NEVER will I eat here again!!!! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's not often you find authentic wood-fired pizza in a fast-casual setting, but they've figured it out. This quickly became one of my favorite pizza spots! The outdoor patio with live music, the gelato bar, the beautiful oven that creates the magic, and the service is phenomenal! Super cute little pizza & gelato spot. It was clean and had lots of seating. The service was fantastic. The individual helping me was so friendly and helpful. It was my first time here, so she offered to do a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza for me -- and it was delicious! I did half veggie and the other half pepperoni. Both were good, but I will definitely be back for the veggie one again, and look forward to trying some other menu items. Drinks include: beer, cider, wine, coffee, tea and soda. The hype is real! The Bambino in Midvale is just as fantastic as everyone says. We absolutely loved everything we tried. We started with the Balsamic Pistachio Salad--amazing--and then shared The Peach pizza. I know, it sounds a little wild, but it was perfection. Both together were the lightest, most delicious lunch iv'e had in a long time. While we ate, we were already planning our next order (maybe something from the secret menu?). The place itself is super charming, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was very quick. BONUS! They have gelato inside. We didn't get any this time but I'm sure we will next time. When inside it appears to pay homage to the movie The Sandlot..throughout the restaurant you find memorabilia and old photos from the movie. Adjacent to the dining area there is also a Cactus and Tropicals you can browse while you wait for your food. You place your order prior to sitting down and then it is cooked and brought.to.your table. They have a menu of choice or you can create your own. Bambino was great tonight. I ordered the new truffle pizza they have and it was super good. Definitely something I'd order again. The atmosphere was awesome too. We ended up sitting outside and the weather was fairly good. The staff even brought over heaters for us. We didn't necessarily need them, but it made everything extra comfortable and showed they were paying attention to the guests. The flavors of the Mexican street corn were amazing! I would get that pizza again and again! The garlic bread blew my mind! Dipping it slightly in the ranch was my favorite way to eat it. We had people hovering our table waiting for us to leave. The chicken on the Caesar was a little rubbery so I would pass on that add on since the salad itself was good with garlic croutons. We tried The Bambino last Friday, and a lot went well. The cheese and margherita pizzas were delicious, and so was the Nutella gelato. The cheesy breadsticks were pretty good, but I think they would go better with ranch over red sauce. The servers forgot to bring out our breadsticks, but when we reminded them they not only gave them to us but also comped them. The ambience straddles special and casual (the decor is what I would call "rustic industrial"), so you could dine here on a variety of occasions. The patio is pretty neat and even has a fountain. But cigarette smoke wafted in through the open patio door, which is unpleasant. I also wonder if having a dog-friendly patio with a wide-open door is a good idea. read more

The Bambino serves authentic wood fire pizza that blows all other wood fire pizza in Utah out of the water. They're dough is light & fluffy while the sauce is full of flavor! Pies start at $16 and are definitely worth the price. In addition to pizza they offer a wide variety of desserts from gelato, to candy, to macaroon ice cream sandwiches. The interior of the restaurant is very modern with vintage photos that line the walls. Some of them pay homage to 1993's The Sandlot for which the restaurant is named. We came here with a couple of our friends as we heard good things about this pizza spot. We love the outdoor seating especially during this time of the year as the weather is getting warmer. This isn't your typical restaurant with waiting service. We got in line to order at the counter and were given a number for them to bring our food out. We order the peach, the beast, and plain pepperoni pizzas as well as the caprese salad and garlic bread. The peach pizza was really good as it was salty and sweet. The beast and pepperoni were very similar except the beast had a few sausages but taste wise, it's practically the same. We also love the caprese salad as it tasted very fresh and light! The only downfall was we had to wait a long while to receive our food and the portion size is kinda small. I would say each person should order their own pizza. Overall it was delicious and we would be back to try other pizzas and a bonus is they'll be having alcoholic beverages soon! read more

We dined outdoors on their patio on a sunny day, which was lovely. However, the salads and pizzas were somewhat average. We ordered The Spud, The Pepperoni, and The Beast, but I found the pizzas to be just OK, lacking strong flavors. The crust was also quite chewy, which isn't my preference. I'm willing to give The Bambino another try, but my initial experience didn't leave a great impression. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, although it was still a little too early in the spring to sit outside. I am excited to come back when the temperatures go up just a bit so I can enjoy that patio. The menu offers lots of options, and they were willing to customize my pizza a bit, since I don't eat cheese. The pizza is thin crust, which I've decided that I enjoy the first time I eat it but doesn't heat up very well. Lesson learned-come hungry or plan to share with someone. After you enjoy a yummy pizza, you can head over to the gelato counter and order a sweet treat. It is part of the Bambino, even though it's a separate counter. As a longtime fan and believer in Midvale Main Street, I'm over the moon about the revitalization that the RDA is bringing about. To see what I'm talking about, you need to look no further than The Bambino (and the Cactus & Tropicals next door) to see the evidence of it. If you're not in the know (and while I saw the restaurant just before it opened, I only just ate there this weekend so I'm late to the party) this is named as a hat tip to the movie The Sandlot. The drug store from that film was Vincent Drug, right here on Main Street, and that fact has been much celebrated since the movie was released over 30 years ago. You'll see photos and other subtle nods, like the Wendy pizza, named for the character Wendy Peffercorn. It's cute, but it's not over the top and doesn't rely too heavily on the gimmick for its charm. I've said it a thousand times: offer a few things, and do them right. Here you get a massive wood fire oven, and it's all about the Napoli style pizzas. They offer a few salads, a few sandwiches, and then a handful of sides. Those sides did pique my interest and will be part of an updated visit. I don't mean to talk out of both sides of my mouth though, so I want to be clear that you should order a pizza, maybe a salad too, and you'll be set. They also have a gelato counter in the south part of the space, separate from the pizza counter, which rounds out the whole experience. It is counter service, so walk right up and order then get a number and wait for your food to be brought out. If it is warm enough, run don't walk to that patio. This is one of the great patios in the south part of the valley. You're between two old Main Street buildings with incredible murals (Midvale Main has become known for amazing murals and an annual mural festival) and one of the best patio trees you'll find as it shoots out of the brick patio floor and sprawls out in foliage above you. The strings of lights and on my visit there was live music (chill, not too loud, but young) and you have a total vibe. I am not the only one to notice this. Every time I've walked by on a summer weekend the place has been totally packed. The clientele is hard to describe--you get some families and couples, but they all appear to have emerged from the Sandy/Draper/Herriman suburbs. I'm a sucker for a garage door, so maybe that's all I needed to know--the patio is found through a large garage door. Sit and have some really tasty food and savor in the early promise of what Main Street may become. read more

The reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 has to do with the amount of ingredients on the pizza. I ordered the Wendy for $20 and came with only specks of sausage and cheese here and there. For a 12" pizza I expected a piece of sausage in every bite. I will try again going back, but this time order a different pizza and see if the results are the same. The garlic smalls were amazing! Everything was so flavorful! The employees were nice, and helpful, the restaurant had plenty of seating and space. It was clean, and we enjoyed looking at sll of the framed old times pictures, including some from the movie The Sandlot. The batherooms were well kept, and nice. I had a half and half pizza, street corn and then a meat lovers. I forget the names, sorry. But they were good! Fair price, good service. The only thing... is outside there are two man holes in the ground and they were stinky and made our table lopsided so we switched tables twice to get away from the smell. Cute little spot in old midvale connected to the garden center! The location and decor is adorable! Parking is somewhat easy and it's probably not ideal for small kids. The pizza itself was ok, fresh ingredients and decent crust.... But it was sooo greasy the crust fell apart and the flavors were lost. The cashier who rang me up was a nice young man! The owner or manager was on site though and berating a teenage girl who was working behind the counter... it really just killed any hope I had to like this place. Fun new pizza spot in Midvale. Great space next to the new cactus and tropical nursery. The pizza was great and I loved the pistachio balsamic salad. We had the pepperoni and mushroom ricotta pizzas. Very good!! And after almost going to blows with the passenger ( a grown adult ) on how Chuckie Cheese was not an acceptable choice for dinner. We needed up here ! Many of times I fret higher scored places on Yelp since far too often they do not live up to the rating. This place does. First off the patio is the place of choice to enjoy your food. Such a gem on Main Street in Midvale! This is a counter service/seat yourself kind of place. They have a bunch of really unique pizzas here - I can't wait to come back and try more! I got the ricotta mushroom pizza with arugula (and lots of it!) mushrooms, ricotta dollops, and shallots. It was delicious! Heavy on the arugula, but fresh and tasty. My partner got their pepperoni pizza and added sausage. I loved both! I really enjoyed each of the pizzas we ordered and they were very different from one another. We did have a slight mixup with my order, and the staff was so attentive, owned up to their mistake immediately, and made sure to make it right for me immediately, which I so appreciated. Everyone was so friendly and kind. They have a gelato shop within their space called Setties and have amazing limited gelato flavors and HUGE ice cream sandwich macarons.
