We chose Tuscany for Father's Day brunch because I wanted somewhere beautiful and special to celebrate my partner, and the setting absolutely delivered. The location, grounds, and interior are still gorgeous and make a great first impression. Unfortunately, the service and food did not live up to the venue. It took nearly 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. I ordered coffee and was brought an Americano instead, without anyone asking whether that substitution was okay. After that, no one checked on us, offered refills, or cleared anything from the table. What made the service even harder to understand was that the restaurant was not busy. In fact, it was surprisingly empty for a Father's Day brunch. I initially found that a little unexpected, but after our experience, I am not entirely shocked. I also noticed that two nearby tables seemed to be receiving the same lack of attention, so this did not appear to be an isolated issue. At the end of the meal, we had to hunt someone down just to get our check, which felt like a fitting finale to the experience. I worked as a server for 20 years, so I understand how demanding restaurant work can be, especially during a holiday brunch. I am usually very patient and sympathetic when a restaurant is overwhelmed. However, this did not feel like an overwhelmed staff. It felt like a general lack of urgency, attentiveness, and engagement throughout the room. I cannot remember the last time I saw so many employees appear so disconnected from the guests they were serving. I didn't have an issue with the $90 price. For a special brunch, that feels reasonable when the food and service match the cost. They did have prime rib and shrimp cocktail, which helped justify the price, but most of the other brunch items were cold despite sitting in warming trays. The most surprising part was seeing suggested gratuities starting at 20%, which worked out to roughly $40 to $60. That felt ambitious considering drinks were barely delivered, no one checked on us, plates were not cleared, and we had to track someone down to pay. The receipt was easily the most attentive part of the service. It is disappointing to see such a beautiful restaurant fall this far short. Tuscany has an incredible atmosphere, but scenery alone cannot carry a $90 brunch. Sadly, we will not be returning. read more

We also tried the desserts and again they were okay but not near the price point I would have paid. The fresh bread with oil and balsamic was the best thing I had. Beautiful restaurant tucked away in Holladay. Tried this place after seeing it online and was very impressed. It was pretty fancy, as you can see from the photos: the outside, garden and dining areas are all very beautiful, especially with the flowers in bloom now. Our server was nice and food came out fast. We got the fried green tomatoes and margherita pizza to share, both were amazing! A little more on the expensive side, but this seems to be a fancy place, which I was unaware of beforehand. The fanciest restaurant in SLC I've been to so far, at least as far as decor and ambiance go. It was my first time at Tuscany, and I had the Thanksgiving meal here. I was in awe at all the thought that went into decorating for Christmas. I heard that they do it up just as much for other holidays as well. The service was excellent. Everyone had to use valet parking, though. The food itself was pretty good, especially the rosemary rolls, butternut squash soup, ham, and cranberry sauce. I agree with another reviewer that the turkey was dry, there was no dark turkey meat, the sweet potatoes were strangely salty, and my stuffing was hard to chew in some places. The carrots were too hard; we couldn't cut them into pieces with the butter knife. The pecan pie was overly sweet (the apple pie was better). Not sure the experience was worth $110 per person. Nevertheless, I would love to return and try the famous 7'4" chocolate cake. read more

This place is wonderful. We dined last night, beautiful ambience, very friendly people extremely attentive. Excellent food. I had the seared salmon from Norway, and my girlfriend had the gnocchi. Both were delicious as was the bread. We share most of a bottle of Spanish wine and the crème brûlée. Everything was fabulous. Our waiter, Justice, helped us select entrées and the wine. Kam, the lovely hostess, seated us in an excellent table. The Holidays decorations were still up and the restaurant had put up a huge amount of work. I would recommend this eating establishment. Tuscany is a popular restaurant that is a fan favorite in Utah. We went here to celebrate my brother completing his MBA. The restaurant itself is beautiful, inviting, and special overall. I can see why it's a popular venue for hosting events. The bruschetta two ways was underwhelming. The tomato's were under seasoned and lacked flavor. The squash and goat cheese however was light but flavorful. The bread was soft and homemade. The Brussel sprouts were amazing! I highly recommend trying them. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned well! We agreed that chicken parm is the best in Utah & highly recommend it. The filet mignon was pretty standard & the accompanying potato's were decent. A little over cooked but I loved the blue cheese in them. The New York steak special was also pretty standard. The mushroom soup was good with a light tangy flavor that really brought everything together The tiramisu had delicious cream but I wish it had a stronger coffee flavoring to it. Came here for my birthday and had a great experience! It is a beautiful place, and I loved the garden surrounding it. We received bread to start with. It was okay--I preferred softer bread, and I usually loved vinegar, but the one here was a little too sour than I wanted. Everything came out incredibly fast! (I was worried that fine-dining restaurants usually take forever). The server brought out the brussels sprouts before we were even done with the bread. I was very surprised by its huge portion. It's definitely a perfect appetizer for a big party. The taste was good and it was crispy, too, but I like the inside to be softer (many were BIG pieces, and they can be cooked longer). The server was right--the spicy seafood puttanesca was not spicy at all, haha. You can request the spice level, though. When I took the first bite of the shrimp, I was SO impressed. The shrimp were big, definitely very fresh, and cooked to perfection. It was my favorite food of the night. There were a bunch of other seafood as well, like calamari and mussels, which were all very good. It was kind of interesting that they used salmon flakes in it; I felt it was underwhelming. I couldn't taste much of it as these little flakes were overpowered by the spagetti and other amazing seafood. I got a complimentary chocolate lava cake for my birthday. The taste was good, but it was overbaked--the texture was a bit rough, and there was not much "lava" inside. Overall, the food was good (and the seafood, of course, was exceptional). But since this is a fine-dining restaurant, I had high expectations of the food with the price I'm paying, so I'm giving it a four-star as dishes other than the seafood puttanesca seemed not quite up to par. Tuscany had been our go-to special occasion restaurant for many years, including hosting a catered birthday dinner in their upstairs room. However, we have observed a significant decline in all respects. The atmosphere had always been charming, especially at Christmas time. However, we've noticed a lot of wear and tear that can't be covered up by the very dim lighting and flashy Chihuly glasswork. Food-wise tonight, the salmon was dry and overcooked, and placed on a strange solid bed of roasted cauliflower that was hard and very difficult to cut. The cheese ravioli had decent flavor, but the pasta was way overcooked and difficult to distinguish from the sauce. For the prices charged here, I would expect much better than Olive Garden quality food (but it was worse). As other patrons have mentioned, our server was nice, but we felt super rushed. The waitstaff appeared to be in utter chaos, despite the fact that there were so many of them. Additionally, they kept noisily stashing dirty dishes on a counter 3 feet from our table outside the kitchen entrance. The staff rushing right by our table all night was anything but relaxing. Most disheartening are the canned corporate-like responses from management to negative reviews. There are consistently way too many 1, 2, and 3 star reviews for the "sanctuary of fine Italian dining" they purport to be. "Talking to the team" doesn't appear to be cutting it. read more

We went to Tuscany for our 16th anniversary dinner. Overall, beautiful ambience, valet parking, great service, and huge portions. The complimentary bread and oil was a great meal starter. We had quite a few cocktails, including the Tuscan Sunset, Mango Spritz, Devil's Margarita, Hawaiian Sour, and Purple Crown. Honestly we weren't blown away by the cocktails, especially for $15 each. The fried green tomato and mozzarella appetizer was our favorite, very unique and flavorful. We also got the bruschetta two ways, which included one with squash and local goat cheese, also amazing. For entrees, I got the dry aged 22oz bone in ribeeye with herb roasted fingerling potatoes and butter braised green beans. I requested medium and it was more of a medium well, and very underwhelming for $80. Would not get again. My husband got the special, which was a wood oven lasagna. It was way better than my steak and less than half the price. They gave us a complimentary lava cake to celebrate our anniversary. Overall, it was a great experience and great portions for our almost $300 bill, but we'll likely continue to explore new places for date night. read more

The décor was beautiful, and sitting by the fireplace made the whole evening feel even cozier. Service was top-notch. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Tuscan Meatballs, and Pepperoni & Hot Honey pinsa were all delicious. The Arugula Pear salad was also really good. The entrées were more of a mix. The Double Cut Pork Chop was very good, but the house-made gnocchi and New York steak were just average. Dessert ended things on a good note with a tasty crème brûlée. Had an incredibly enjoyable meal here last night! If you're ever looking for an exquisite meal on a whim, head to the bar area at Tuscany. We decidedly came here on a Tuesday night the day before Valentine's day and without a reservation. While this sounds like this could have been a terrible impromptu decision to make, we were able to walk-in and sit immediately in the bar area. Highly recommended for those 21+ because the menu is the same in the bar area and the service is exceptional (plus your drinks come very quickly)! We started our meal with the Fried Green Tomato and Mozzarella appetizer, which I would highly recommend. This dish is like a crispier take on a caprese salad, so you absolutely cannot go wrong with this one! I failed to capture a photo because we consumed the dish so quickly. I tried one of the specials for the evening which was a Grilled Mahi with an asparagus & saffron risotto, and a beurre blanc sauce. This dish was cooked to perfection. The risotto was beautifully done and the asparagus, albeit being the thicker variety, was also cooked well. The beurre blanc had the perfect amount of acidity that came through with some bites and it paired so well with the Mahi. This dish was priced to the tune of $45, and it was well worth it! My husband opted for the Grilled Lamp Chops that came with a sundried tomato & kalamata olive orzo and dressed with dollops of a mint salsa verde. He didn't leave one bite on the plate! I did try the mint salsa verde and the sauce had such a brightness to it, I can only imagine how great the meal must have been overall. We will, of course, return again! The food was fair overall due to the very bland white turkey loaf meat slices and dry dressing with burnt edges that felt like it had been microwaved for a re-heat. Our service and wait time was great. The ambiance was beautiful. The menu was set for a price of $110 per person, and for that price the main plate was disappointing. The meal felt mass produced, and the main dish did not taste special. The rosemary rolls were hot and buttery- very good. The squash soup was amazing and the salad was good. The soup was the best part of the meal. The turkey was dry and the mashed potatoes were too wet. The ham was perfect but a smaller portion when compared to the turkey. The cranberry sauce was good. Went here for a celebration dinner with my s/o's family! Was very impressed with my experience. First, you pull in and there is complimentary valet, which is so nice! And then when you walk in, you feel like you are on another planet because the ambiance is so unique. I love how pretty it is in and outside of the building. The service offered makes you feel like royalty, they are so kind and thoughtful here. The food came out relatively quick! We did come on a Thursday evening around 7:30 so that might be why! Everything was presented beautifully and tasted delicious! Definitely a place you would want to go to for a celebration of some kind of life event. Oh, and I definitely left feeling very full! Had high hopes for this place but I've walked out Just feeling like the place is very fake fancy. Prime example, Valet service for a parking lot 50 feet away. Completely overdone and unnecessary step to try and make the customer feel like they are embarking on an above average experience. But when it came down to what really matters in a dining experience, Tuscany fell short. For example, I made reservations way in advance after hearing how there was all this "Christmas spirit". Got sat at a wobbly table in a corner by a kitchen, or maybe closet door. Asked for a new table and our server stuffed a knife under the leg of the table. With a building so large, I simply couldnt understand why there was a table stuffed in the corner. With so many open tables, not sure why we couldn't be moved. With such a huge nice building, squeezing tables in every spare space, and compromising guest experience makes no sense. Would not recommend the calamari. My margarita pizza was good, but I completely changed my pick and went for a "safer" order after seeing how our appetizers (calamari more than anything) came out. I travel a lot and look for stand out restaurants wherever I go. Calamari is a typical order of mine. Never have I seen calamari prepared how Tuscany does it. Very very heavy breading, but like very greasy at the same time. Not sure how to accurately describe it. Just very odd and different from anywhere else. Strange place. Food wasn't all bad but after 2 weeks of being excited to try Tuscany, I was disappointed. Our server tried their best and I applaud that. But not worth a return trip. My babe surprised me with a birthday dinner here. Every corner speaks romance; from the minute you pull into the valet only front entrance to the candles on the outside and inside. They even had the happy birthday table confetti on the table! The Brussels sprouts were delicious as was the filet. Although I wasn't a fan of having the caramelized onions on top, it made it sweet and didn't need it. I ordered it medium and it was a perfect medium, hard to get these days. My man loved his order of seafood pasta. For dessert, I loved the tiramisu. It was not overly sweet or rummy. The chocolate cake and ice cream combo also hit the spot. We were drawn to Tuscany because of the extensive Christmas decor and rustic feel. The ambiance was nice, super chrismasy, and even had classic songs playing in the background. I thought it was genius to have backlit menus for the dim environment, as I've been to plenty of nice restaurants where anyone over the age of 50 is scrambling to whip out their phone flashlight or readers to look at the menu. However, it is a bright, and the dessert menu is brighter still and is quite the shock to the eyeballs after sitting in dim lighting, (see last pic for reference). Besides that, the food was good, we had the beef carpaccio and bread for apps, a filet mignon with gratin potatoes and house made gnocchi. Beef carpaccio was great, but the one potato in the middle seemed like a small portion, and would be almost non existent if it were served to more than two people. 8oz filet was good, ordered medium rare but was very medium, especially for a filet. The main gripe was it was served on top of the potatoes which I would say is a large mistake, as the potatoes suck up all the juice from the steak, and the potatoes also lose their crunch. Cauliflower was meh, but not terrible. The gnocchi was great, pasta tasted house made for sure, and had lots of sausage which is a plus. Four cheese sauce was alright, It seemed like it had some goat cheese that a little over powering compared to the rest of the blend but was good overall. Ended with affogato which was delish. Had a lovely experience at Tuscany to celebrate the hubby's birthday. Although the Yelp reviews weren't that high they were pretty good via Google and the menu looked good especially the house made pastas so I wanted to give it a chance And I'm glad I did! It's a beautiful restaurant with different rooms each exhibiting a different rustic feel to it. There seems to be only valet parking which is fine because at least it's complimentary. We made reservations so we were seated immediately. Bread with oil and vinegar was served immediately. The bread was cold and dense so not the most appealing. For apps we got the meatballs and the burrata caprese salad. The meatballs were a huge portion and after eating then realized choosing meatloaf for our entree was not the best idea. We quickly flagged down our server who was able to get us chicken piccata instead. Unfortunately the tomatoes in the caprese was on the soft side which makes me think they were sitting out for a bit. I prefer tomatoes that are nice and firm. The chicken piccata was a sizeable portion with big capers, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The winner though was the cheese ravioli which was by far the best ravioli I've had. When you have fresh house made pasta nothing else compares! For dessert we got the house special banana cream cake and the chocolate bundlet which was on the house as a birthday treat! Although it wasn't overly sweet the banana cream cake just tasted like lots of bananas with cream. Maybe that's what it's supposed to taste like, just not memorable for us and we didn't finish it. The bundlet was good though, nice and moist with a chocolate liquid center and topped with ice cream. After dinner, we explored the patio area which was beautiful and perfect for hosting your next event. read more

Then the service is also very strong, friendly and helpful. Now to the food. Yes, it's an upscale Menü and prices, however, I was a little disappointed. I got the Supreme Pizza and the topics were great. However, it should have stayed in the pizza oven for a few more minutes. The dough was too soft and soggy. The Meatloaf was nice and tasted good. The Caesar salad was incredible- as good as any table side made Caeser in New York. The meatballs were phenomenal and the sauce was off the charts. The Pork chop was also one of the best I ever had.
