We live in a simple rancher and they had the nerve to want to charge us this much?? We told him no way too much, he offered to drop the cost to $26,000 and said we would need to decide right then, and we still knew the price was way too much. Despite what I read on Yelp in many 1 star reviews, I called PJ Fitzpatrick because of referral from my neighbor for similar work. I could not be more satisfied. They responded right away, the person on the telephone was polite cheerful and courteous. She was able to confirm an appointment for the same day. Joe P rang our bell 3 hours later on time. The problem was a roof leak into upstairs bedroom. Joe explained their services and confirmed the weekend special price. we agreed ahead of time. He brought in his ladder, checked the attic and located the source of leak. He then explained it thoroughly to me and gave me three options. He did not try to upsell me beyond the explanation and I liked that. He got out his 24 foot ladder and climbed up to top of 2 story roof, found the problem (original roofer failed to flash all the way and driving rain got under flashing and lealed. Joe came back down with photographs on his cell and discussed it. We agreed to repair by caulking and he finished the job. Total elapsed time was about 3 to 4 hours. I would recommend Joe and Fitzpatrick to anyone. I know that this problem is an issue with our builder along with other flashing issues in many of the houses. The roofing tech showed up at the end of the window. I had reported 2 leaks and gutters needing cleaning. He was able to repair one leak, the other we identifying as coming from a window. But he didn't have time to clean my gutters. I have a lot of gutters so he gave me a quote for the project. I accepted and we scheduled it for later in the week when I wasn't home. I paid in advance. So far so good. But when I came home one of the few areas of visible gutter (from the second floor) and perhaps easiest to access had dried leaves in about 1/3 of it. So how am I supposed to know if the other gutters are clean? read more

The call center lady I spoke to was the rudest person I've encountered. I was given a hard time because as a homeowner I will not be on the premises when they come out for an estimate. I was assured over the phone that as long as I had someone to allow them into the premises it was not a big deal. I work every week day 7 to 4pm and I work in Philadelphia, which puts me past the normal business hours. I called this group and asked them to come out and check the front of my home because I had a leak. The service person came out and told me that I needed major roof repair. I was fine with getting a quote and had all the intentions of using this company. They charge me 65.00 dollars and said it would taken off once I got the work done. My home has flat roofs along with peak or asphalt shingle roofs. At the last minute, this company called and said they do not do roofs with pole gutters. I asked them why did someone tell me this on the day of the inspection. They acted real sincere as if they were doing me a favor. They took my 65.00 dollar and gave me a lame excuse for not giving me a fair estimation for the roof installation. What a joke and a waste of time. read more

Let me start first by saying that we only had a small job done... I wasn't going to write up anything until as you read, the sales pitch began! A workman came out to repair a small leak and "he" was fine... but then the aggressive sales pitch through his company began. PJ Fitzpatrick set up a meeting with both my husband and I to discuss the state of our roof... long story short...2 hour sales pitch about how the materials and the workmanship is guaranteed for life (so peace of mind) and then the sinker... a price of over 14000 guaranteed for 30 days and 17000 good for 1 year! Other people came in at 7500 or less! They said they did thousands of jobs in this area but could only provide me with a single name in my area--hmmm? Then, just to top off this wonderful experience, they called yesterday check on my satisfaction level. After 10 minutes and my telling them that we won't be using them--even if the price was lower, the girl on the phone tried to argue the company's position and talk me into changing my opinion about pj Fitzpatrick roofing. I repeated I was not interested, said goodbye as she continued to argue her position. ( i checked reviews on yelp and and they were very mixed and nobody in a community forum even mentioned them... all of which I told the salesman during the pitch and the woman on the phone). Later that same day the woman sent an email defending her position... then called 3x until I answered to discuss her email... i again said that I was not I interested...I had not even read the email. BEWARE. In 20 or 25 years we only had to call a roofer 2x. A 7000$ difference in price and little nuances that could "invalidate" any warranty would not total even close to that amount to warrant having "peace of mind!" I wanted to get an estimate to replace my front door. A gentleman named Sam came out and did a great job. I got an email the next day and unfortunately the estimate was a little too pricey for me. A day or so later a gentleman called me to follow up. When I told him the estimate was a little out of my price range he offered to send out a specialist to see what they could do. Okay great. The appointment was set up for 6 this evening, and here I am at 6:30 writing a review because the specialist never showed up. Now I understand things happen and sometimes folks run late, but a simple phone call to let me know would have great. We used PJ F. last year Feb 2019 to replace our roof. I waited to review to see if we'd have issues with the job right after the service and lucky to say we haven't. Wow, after reading the reviews from 2019, maybe we got lucky. Our interaction with them was great, no problems or concerns. Everyone we dealt with was very nice, courteous, professional, helpful, informative, and knowledgeable. They came on time when they said they would, and the work was done on the scheduled day & time, and they even completed it all in 1 day. It was a long day in February, from 7:30am till 7:30pm, on a very cold day, (we felt bad for the workers out there on the roof), but they got it done like they said they would. The inspector even came back on the day he said he would to do a second look around the property to make sure everything was good and that we were happy with the job, and to make sure our yard/property was cleaned up properly. I waited 2 1/2 weeks take A-day off work to have a technician pull up to my house to spend less than 5minutes to tell me that there ROOFING COMPANY doesn't do flat roofs and I should find a local roofer. Had some vinyl siding blown off of my house in a hard-to-reach corner right by the roof. Rain was in the forecast and I wanted to get the siding back up ASAP. Called these guys around 9am, Joe was here by 10, he was up on the roof/ladder quickly and the job was fixed before 11. Very professional, no "sales pitch" given for other work. DO NOT USE P.J. Fitzpatrick They charge more then double their competitors and charge a $65 fee to just come out and give an estimate. We had a broken window they estimated $560 to repair the glass. A new window cost less. The competitor estimated $160 and did not charge to come out for an estimate. We had PJ Fitzpatrick come out because they had someone available the day I had off but there is a reason they have people available, they have a bad reputation. They would not tell me over the phone the price range for window repairs yet when the guy came out to our house he called his manager that looked the cost up in their book and gave us a cost right out of some book! Their competitor gave me a range right away followed by a disclaimer of course but still was nice to know what I would be in for. The biggest blow was when I asked PJ Fitzpatrick why I would repair the window at the $560 cost when a new window would be less. He offered right away to have a sales guy come out and give us a quote for a new window and maybe we should look at getting more windows replaced. Umm yea right you probably charge 1k a window lol. PJ Fitzpatrick's customer service followed up a few days after the estimate and offered a matching policy. Really so you were going to change me more then double until I got another estimate? What a rip off! My biggest advice is to shop around you will find better prices else where. read more

We were interested in improving our attic insulation, and decided to call PJ Fitzpatrick for an estimate. The person on the phone was friendly, and took our information. At the end of the call, he then asked me if both my wife and I would be present for the estimate. Since my wife commutes a long distance from home, I told them it would be just me. He said that they strongly "prefer" to have both spouses present (presumably as some sort of high pressure sales tactic where they convince you to sign up on the spot). I politely told him that she would not be present, and if that was a requirement for them, then we wouldn't need their services. He said it wasn't a requirement, and then scheduled an appointment for a weekday afternoon. The night before, they called to confirm the appointment-- a good thing. However, they again asked if my wife would be present, and I again told them it would be just me. They seemed upset about this, but confirmed my appointment nonetheless. Finally, on the morning of the appointment, they called me to say that they wanted to reschedule so that my wife could be present. Since I had already arranged my schedule to be present that day (and since I was tired of their BS), I did not want to reschedule. Instead, I politely asked whether she wanted to honor their original appointment, or cancel the service altogether. She chose to cancel the service altogether. I'm very displeased with them. Firstly, for employing this rather slimy "both spouses present" high pressure sales tactic. More importantly, I'm annoyed that they wasted my time by making, and then confirming an appointment, only to cancel it at the last minute for something they were aware of from the start. If they make it this difficult to even get your business in the first place, I can't imagine how bad they are to work with for fixing any problems that arise during construction. If you want to Replace whatever it is you need done call them if it needs to be fixed then don't bother. I had a storm door that was damaged by wind. The tech they sent out claimed it was unrepairable and i would need to either replace the storm door with one that would go on the other side and in different wood or replace the entire door. He wanted close to $2000 for a new storm door and more for a new front door alltogether. Called another company who sent out a handyman and fixed the whole thing by poping out a piece of trim wood and replaceing a pump. Total cost $300. Don't get ripped off by a company that doesn't do repairs but wants to drum up new buisiness. read more

I just had my roof replaced by this company. The sales person Jim Brinch was a very helpful man. We met and talked over things. Then his supervisor came , another day, after the written estimate. Suddenly I was told it would be mandatory to have all gutters replaced. I know they are in business and want to get the price up. However, not all needed to be replaced! I reluctantly agreed. It took them a few attempts to get it started because of rain. The initial roof went on without much delay. Then, I was told that the roof over the porch was rotted and I needed to hire a carpenter. Hello! When were you going to inform me , that you as a roofing company could NOT fix the problem? You sure got your money for the project! Can you imagine being told this after the fact? SO, I had to hire an additional service for a few grand. This SHOULD have been discussed as a possible extra expense! So more days went by and finally that was fixed. This company was recommend to me by my step father. The whole experience was absolutely horrible. In order to to have my home re-trimed and re-roofed they sent 4 foreman out and two separate crews to do the install. I had to take multiple days off to make sure the work requested was done and the communication between every one was horrible. The sales pitch is high pressure and they promise you the world. All of it was lies, they sent a sub contractor out who left without finishing the job. It was a battle to get them to come back and finish part of the work. They no call no showed twice. There's still issues with one of my windows that haven't been addressed. I am very pleased with this company. Everyone that I had contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. They showed up within the time frame and went straight to work. I was thankful that my roof repair was minor and was completed in a very short amount of time. There was no charge for them to come out to look for a problem and the charge to fix the issue was minimal. The worker explained the problem in detail and assured me that if the problem wasn't resolved, he would come back. Found PJ Fitzpatrick on the Marvin windows website. I wanted to find a place that sells the windows and have them installed by a friend. Friendly woman answered. All I wanted to do was ask if they sold the windows. She immediately took control and asked me if this was my work number I was calling from, have I ever had work done by them, have I ever had a quote from them, maybe another question...felt grilled immediately. This is a sales tactic - for the person to gain control of the conversation. She then didn't even take a break - I'm still trying to ask my simple question...and she said "I'll be asking you several questions and this will only take a few minutes"....at which I broke in and said "I have a question for you!". She was annoyed and said "What would that be?". What a reply!!! So snotty and cocky and condescending. I hated her attitude and thought she was so rude. I asked "Do you sell just the windows or just install them?" She said yes, we are a full installation company....blah blah and kept going on trying to gain control again rudely in my opinion. It was very clear what I asked but I didn't get a clear answer, so I asked again "Do you just sell the windows not installation?" Again she said the same line "Yes, we are a full installation company so we come out and look at the job, measure, etc. I had to ask again a 3rd time...it was like she wasn't even listening....which is again a sales tactic. Finally she gave me the truth. They don't sell the windows, just installation of the windows by them. And with their other reviews here, well, that would be a big NO! From this 2 minute experience I would confidently say that you should completely avoid this company. Worst company to deal with. I wanted an estimate for a major roof replacement. Called, obviously spoke to someone who just answers the phone and takes notes, asked a bunch of Qs and insisted on wanting both me and my spouse to be present just for an estimate which may take up to 90 mins!! Why both??? They need to understand that not everyone can make 90 mins in a day just to meet for an estimate. Also, just for an estimate, they scheduled me 1 mth away! From their website, they seem to be a fairly big company with supposedly dedicated marketing and sales teams, so no one to even do an estimate for 1 mth?? Other roofing companies I called were able to quickly schedule me within a week. Guess they wont have my business if this is how they value potential clients with big jobs. read more

Called this company to repair a window sash- coil balance replacement. Tech told me his office was unable to locate parts: they were unavailable and window had to be replaced. A sales rep called later and quoted $2888 for a standard size double hung window. Really? I did find parts on line for less than $10 and have an excellent handyman who will do the repairs. I truly thought a company that advertised window repairs would have been more resourceful in finding parts. Installation was not what the salesman told us they would do, not even close to the sample he showed us, namely the corners in the surround portion of the tub to shower conversion. Their advertisements promised one day installation. This also did not happen. Their "customer service" after I started complaining consisted of mostly the "you don't really understand bs", "this is standard practice", "this is better than you would get elsewhere", etc. On top of it all, they applied for a credit card for my wife & me using Marvin Windows. Neither Marvin not windows had anything to do with our tub to shower conversion. My complaints about this were met with a "this really won't hurt your credit rating" schmooze. I had a leak in my roof for approximately one month. I called PJ Fitzpatrick. Armon answered. He was very friendly and was extremely helpful. He was able to get a service man out to me the same day. Brad C. was at my home within an hour, as he was in the area. After Brad inspected the roof, he showed me photos that he took with his cell phone of the roof and explained, in detail, why my roof was leaking. He also took photos of other areas of the roof that may have potential issues in the future. Brad was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. I really appreciate both Brad and Armon for resolving my leaky roof! Forgot to mention...
