We loved how it turned out. I am a bit bothered that you can't collaborate on the cake design at all given how much I paid, but oh well. Secondly, the actual cake was very nice and tender. We all enjoyed that. However, the frosting tasted terrible. Honestly it tasted more like vegetable shortening than butter. It left a really greasy taste on the tongue, and didn't have much flavor at all. It was far too heavy. I understand that may be partly required for the design of the cake... but I have had cakes like this that tasted way better. And on the design front, where I am from, you can collaborate with the bakery in your local grocery store for a fully unique cake -- and get a cake for $40 that both looks and tastes amazing. I had so much fun doing that last time and the bakery came with great ideas. That simply does not exist in Seattle... bit of a bummer.
