Wonderful spot that could get lost in the pockets of Pike Street Market if you didn't know it was there (behind the fish throwing or upstairs from the gum wall, depending on where you started). Service was incredible. Prompt, helpful and super friendly. We tried local breads, saffron clam chowder (get out of your head about traditional chowder. The flavor in this was amazing!) and seared scallops on a cauliflower compote. Everything timed well, delicious and worth the trip. FIFA was in town and possibly retrograde and moons aligning into weirdness because the patrons this time were on a different level so it was extra loud and just a different vibe then we were expecting. Still so glad we visited but might check sports events before making it a date night in the future.

The views are nice on a sunny day. The menu is limited between 2:30-3:30. And, they don't allow moving the tables. There was only one other party on the terrace when we came, but they were strict about moving tables to accommodate our party of 4. It seemed unnecessarily strict when they mostly just had appetizers during that time slot anyway, no full meal to overlap with dinner guests. The lox were nice, although the bread was pretty hard. Presentation was nice, and we enjoyed the small bites.

Too many ppl at the Pike Market, and we were surprised to find this restaurant in the Pike hidden in the back with lesser crowd. Food was nice, and staff was very friendly. Will definitely go back whenever I visit Seattle.

We rotate Place Pigalle in here and there, typically with friends. Tucked away at the back of the top floor of Pike Place Market, it has some great views from inside and their few outdoor tables. Visited here recently as a couple. Early reservation so we could make a movie. Seating took a bit, but from then on, amazing and very attentive service. My cocktail to start was very nice, and they were very kind to allow us to taste a couple of the wines by the glass to make decisions on what we wanted with our mains. We started light, just ordering the baguette w/butter, that many people had said positive things about. Have to admit, both were quite basic - baguette didn't have that nice outer crust, and the butter wasn't up with what we experienced recently in a French wine bar nearby. Would pass on that next time. The grilled bread that was seasoned that came with later dishes was much better. Mains - bouillabaisse for me, scallops for my wife. The bouillabaisse was absolutely excellent! A good amount of fish, clams, mussels, a couple shrimp, nice amount of crab on top, and lots of calamari. The calamari rings were a bit rubbery, but everything else perfect, and the broth was amazing. Unfortunately the scallops were a total miss on both flavor and preparation. A definite no go for us in the future. Dessert was the cheese plate, with 3 different cheeses and things to go with, including cornichons, caperberries, mustard, and preserved fruit, along with the grilled bread. Solid finish. Noise level wasn't bad early on, but definitely became loud by the end. It's a small place, and even though there were no large tables, noise from the patrons and kitchen definitely ramped up. Prices are up there, as with most good restaurants these days. Generally in line with others, but know Seattle does run expensive if you are visiting from out of town.

This was a really cool experience and I've enjoyed this restaurant a lot compared to other restaurants in the market. The view and ambiance is very good, making it great for a nice dinner or romantic outing. The service was very attentive and prompt. The food was overall quite good, but this is on the high end of the price range and I wouldn't be coming back frequently with the price tag. The oysters and baguette were fabulous. I liked the mussels but we both felt the sauce was a bit intense. Both our entrees were good. I would highly recommend the scratch lemonade!

All I can say is WOW! I've been to Paris and the country side of france, and this restaurant really gives me similar vibes. The food is amazing, and the service is excellent. Hannah and Mike were both attentive and helpful with suggestions. We had the pate , bitter greens with beans, oysters, lamb rack, French onion soup, cheesecake and coffee. Mike made a great recommendation for the red wine to go with the lamb as well. Everything we had was noticeably good. There was nothing that was just OK. Overall, I'd definitely recomment this place. The ambience is reminiscent of france, the service is amazing, and the food is beyond good. I'm already planning who I'm going to bring here next.

Really small and super neat place. We stopped for a snack after roaming around the marketplaces and water front. Love the history of the location and enjoyed reading the back of the menu with the details. We ordered the bread which was so good as well as the French onion soup and clam chowder. It took a bit to get the soups as the place was busy and the kitchen is microscopic but they were both very tasty.

The place was crowded since it's at good location in the middle of the Market Place, you need to park somewhere else to walk to the restaurant. The service was courteous. We ordered Seasonal Mixed Greens, Liver Pâté, Saffron Clam Chowder, Daily Salmon Special, and "Maple Leaf" Duck Confi. The salad was fresh and fine, the liver pate was not soft neither creamy as good as we had in recent trip to europe, I am very disappointed even I knew its duck and rabbit liver. The clam chowder was good and creamy, Saffron added a bit flavor on it. The salmon is okay but hardly to compare real Alaska fresh salmon since we just got off board from Alaska trip. Finally, it's the famous French signature dish duck confit, I can give it 6 of 10, the outside was not crispy enough and inside is not tender, the purée and sauce was okay.

Just came back for the first time in over 30 years, and it feels like it hasn't changed at all although the view now has things that weren't there before such as the Great Wheel. But the room is still super cozy, and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the market to a cute cafe in France. I started off with a cup of their saffron clam chowder which is actually more like a bisque. Either way, it's delicious and also a bit lighter than a traditional chowder with just a hint of saffron. I also ordered their duck confit, which is what I probably ordered last time. It was cooked perfectly and placed atop butternut squash purée and apples. It paired well with a glass of PNW pinot noir and is true comfort food. Service was delightful - staff who smiled and were happy, all on a sunny spring day for lunch. The place fills up quickly so it's better to make a reservation, just in case. It's a little pricey for lunch (no separate lunch menu), but well worth a visit for any meal. I'll definitely be back much sooner for visit number 3!

I finally droopped in for lunch with my friend after ignoring all of the little cafes and restaurants inside the actual market for years. I'm so glad I did! We shared the French Onion soup and OMG it was just as divine as everyone claimed it would be in the reviews. Next we shared the halibut and the pot du creme. Everything was prepared just right and presented beautifully. The service was very good. We felt seen by our server without being bothered at innopportune times. I am thinking about that soup now and feeling hungry - I know I'll be back there soon to quell that tummy growl! The reason this place didn't hit on all points was that the front door to the restaurant is awkwardly down the stairs and past the people dining on the patio, perched above the street below. It was awkward both getting to the entrance and again when we left. I get that they want to maximize table space but the outdoor patio just ended up looking messy/cramped, and not like a classy French bistro, transported in time/geography.

2024 Bordeaux Blanc from Chateau de Costis

I've wanted to return to this intimate restaurant behind the hubbub of the fish mongers in Pike Place Market for many years. There are a few tables outside on a ledge before the entrance, but I was seated inside at a table next to a window facing Northwest, giving me a great view of the harbor. I opted for the warm beet salad ($19) and the duck confit (33). I left it to Nate (my server) to choose a white wine for the salad and a red to accompany the duck. He chose a 2024 Bordeaux Blanc from Chateau de Costis ($14) and a 2021 Pinot Noir from Coria Estates ($17, Willamette Valley). These are inexpensive wines, but they matched well with my dishes. The warm red and gold beets atop arugula, with candied walnuts, goat cheese from Cypress Grove, and a lemon-Dijon vinaigrette was perfect! The "Maple Leaf" Duck Confit was a crispy duck leg atop a butternut squash puree, with pieces of apple, some arugula and a cider gastrique was one of the best duck dishes in memory. Dessert was an espresso and an affogato. I realized when I returned home that Nate didn't charge me for the dessert ... Perhaps it was an oversight, but I'd like to think it was his way of apologizing for the lack of service initially. He mistakenly thought I was waiting for someone to join me, so I sat in the restaurant for quite a while initially. Whatever the case, I enjoyed my time at Place Pigalle and look forward to returning.

After looking at the reviews that this was a small place, we made a reservation and made our way over to Pike Place. When you get to the famous famous fish market, look for the red neon sign and walk down that narrow hallway until it ends- you can't miss it! Inside is just like your typical French bistro. A cozy space, with amazing views if you can get a table by the window. The service is amazing, our host and server were super friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our meal! We had bouillabaisse, scallops, and duck for our entrees. Everything was prepared well- the seafood was cooked just right and my niece really enjoyed her duck. The meal was on the higher end of our visit and it was well worth it! We look forward to coming back.

Not sure why this place doesn't have higher ratings. Such a cute place, absolutely adored our server. She gave great suggestions and the food was amazing. Will definetly be coming back.

We were seated with a view of the ferris wheel and the the Puget Sound, within walking distance from our conference venue. The service was friendly and attentive. Our server made sure that our water glasses were never empty and he cracked jokes throughout the night! The only feedback I would give is I wish the server would not upsell the wine so much - he brought it up multiple times throughout the night even though my group was very clearly not the drinking type. It was Seattle Restaurant Week when we visited but we were enticed to try their main dishes: the seared scallops, the duck leg confit, and rack of lamb. For dessert, we collectively got to try the creme brulee, the chocolate cheesecake, and the ice cream. I had the Coquilles St. Jacques, the seared scallops, as my entree. The scallops were just the right amount of seared and while there were only four scallops, there were plenty of green beans and mushrooms to fill me up. The puree was flavorful and I couldn't get enough of it! For desert, I ordered the Gateau Basque au Fromage, the chocolate cheesecake. The portions were generous and the cheesecake was decadent without being overly sweet. The restaurant itself may be hard to find since it's tucked away in the coner but if you follow the red neon sign, you will find it if you just follow the narrow long hallway! It's a little more on the expensive side, but worth it for the thoughtfully created dishes. This is a great spot to impress someone who is visiting the area (like me)!
