The parking was an absolute bear but the vibe of the place was very cool and our server Kevin was absolutely amazing! He went above and beyond repeatedly even on a very busy night. For drinks my husband got a south paw- which wasn't even on the menu but Kevin said no problem! Kevin also helped me decide on the spring fever and I loved it; I've never had rhubarb in a drink before and really liked it and loved the cardamom notes. The south paw was a perfect pick for something bourbon forward. Apps: We couldn't decide between the beef carpaccio and the prawn &pomelo appetizer but finally settled on the P&P but Kevin surprised us by bringing both and so glad he did. They were both amazing and so very different. Loved the unique flavors of the P&P and the carpaccio was def the best carpaccio I've ever had. Rich and smooth. So perfectly done. For mains we got the king salmon and the halibut special. We couldn't decide which was better! The halibut was delicious with micro greens and a unique sauce. There was a bonus fish on top which seemed a little extraneous imo but I still enjoyed it. The salmon was also perfectly done with greens and corn and a tasty gastrique sauce. Somehow we had room for dessert and got the sticky chocolate tart. I think Kevin was concerned we picked the weakest choice so he threw a tasting of Licor 43 to complement our dessert gratis! Really great spot on a warm weekend afternoon, and exactly what we were looking for. A nice, fairly quiet indoor/outdoor roof bar with apparently seasonal drinks--the menu was very summery for a hot August day. Our server was helpful and patient, and drinks came quickly. The old fashioned was good, not too sweet, with a clarified ice cube. The Frozen Hugo was a fun twist, with sort of a lime elderflower slush in the middle surrounded by prosecco, like a float. There's no sign outside, go into the hotel and the lobby staff will code the elevator to get you to the sixth floor. read more

My friend and I were in town for the Mariners game and stayed at the Populus Seattle hotel, so we gave this place a try as it is in the hotel. We stopped in for just a drink and were going to get food somewhere else. The drinks were super yummy! Definitely well made. The vibe in the restaurant was very earthy and vegetation was clearly a theme, like the rest of the hotel. We loved it. It was clean and comfortable. The service was a huge turn off. It took us like two hours to get our one drink and pay for our check. With how expensive this place is, and the fact that they automatically add 20% gratuity, that's just insane. The service was so slow and the bartender was so indifferent to whether we were there or were being helped. And they weren't even busy. Then when we went to pay, my friend was getting the bill, and asked if he could break a hundred. He said yes and then rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath when he was walking away. She felt like she inconvenienced him so much that she just used her card. Our bill was almost $50 for our two drinks, breaking a hundred, or paying in cash in general, shouldn't have been that big of a deal. It was uncomfortable and disappointing. The experience at Salt Harvest was much better than I expected. They did a nice job of creating a welcoming and trendy space (without going too crazy), and everything seemed thought out. Their food was amazing from start to finish. My meal was cooked just right and had tremendous flavor, and the presentation made me feel like I was getting something extra-special. I felt that our server was attentive and sincere, but also didn't overdo it. It was clear that all the staff take pride in their jobs. If you can't make it to 5th & Pike for Monorail Espresso this is the most convenient place to pick some up in Pioneer Square. They also provide compostable lids and to-go cups from a local company. I'm glad they're thoughtful about the environment. The valet staff outside of the Populus Hotel are friendly. They'll assist with opening the double doors if they're available. Sometimes the hotel front desk staff will greet you. Sometimes they won't. Don't expect a warm welcome every time. Take note of the lobby's architecture and art before you access the elevator or stairs. The café is cozy and comfortable with different seating options. The baristas are friendly. The space is very popular with laptop campers and small group meetings. Expect a mix of hotel guests and downtown workers. Coffee is pricey though. It's in a hotel and a nice one at that. So if you come here, make it worth your time, hang out, and chat with a friend or co-worker. Enjoy your surroundings. A lot of hard work and good intentions went into creating this space so I think it's worth visiting at least once. read more

Went here for my birthday dinner August 2025, and everything was great other than the food. Extremely unimpressed by the food actually. We ordered salmon tartare, which was fine but not great. The tartare has these foot long carrot and cucumber shoe strings that are tough to get on the sesame cracker. Other than that, favors made sense. But the duck i ordered was so so tough and fat cap not rendered properly. I am assuming they sous vide the duck to get internal temp up to where they want it, then finish by searing/rendering the skin, but damn my cheeks are sore from chompin. Skin still had a ton of unrendered fat, and i just could not get over how long i had to chew lol. Duck a jus was mid too and the chutney they included was not done well. I get the idea of why they included the chutney, but just go with a gastrique or something in the future. By girlfriend had the salmon main and hers was under cooked (for her liking) and just did not taste good lol. I was so excited to try this place and it just did not hit. read more

Beef tartare was delicious with a bit of spice and the fermented veggies added tons of flavor. Puget sound treasures were flavorful, fresh and light. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the tagliatelle was light and not heavy. Duck was yummy but could skip the spring fruit chutney and just done the natural jus. Fries cooked in duck fat were crispy. Eton dessert meringue with fresh fruit was perfectly cooked and the fruit was fresh. Will definitely go again! read more

Chill spot, nice decor. Wooden high back seats were uncomfortable, so we asked to move to a table with different chairs and they were happy to oblige. Service was super friendly and attentive, excellent. Food was tasty. We ordered the salad with goat cheese. My qualm about this salad was there was actually no goat cheese on it. There is one small crostini with a faint smear of goat cheese on it. That to me was a bit of a let down and somewhat deceptive description. Sourdough bread service with butter was bonkers. Delicious. Beef carpaccio was yummy. Hubby ordered the pork chop and it was crazy tasty, but the chop we got did have a tad bit too much fat on it. I ordered the spaetzel and it was ridiculously amazing! Flavor bomb. We ordered the Eaton Mess for dessert. Although it was tasty, it was actually a pavlova (nothing wrong with that), but another wrong description. Ambiance - beautiful. The barstools are uncomfortable. Please, designers, no more low backs. Food - unsure, nothing that I could eat given food allergies and dietary constraints (vegan with garlic allergy). They weren't able to accommodate. Drinks - Wine was BAD. Shockingly bad. Maybe corked but maybe just bad. Mocktail - delicious, but it came with egg white foam, which was a surprise to me, as no foam was mentioned in the description. I didn't even think to ask about it when it arrived. But later on I did inquire, and oops, it's egg. Management, PLEASE add this detail on the menu, and indicate if you can make a vegan version without foam (or with aquafaba/wonder-foam if you're fancy.) Y'all market this hotel and restaurant as a sustainable business; you're going to get a lot of vegans. This is basic- why would anyone think a drink contained egg unless listed? Flavorwise, the drink below the foam was exceptional. I'd rate it one of the better mocktails I've had, other than inadvertently causing me to violate my ethics. Service - Bare minimum: perfunctory, terse. Wasn't there during a busy time. This did not feel snobbish, but rather like the staff were upset or sad about something. A weird vibe that I figure is atypical. I'll come back. But I won't come back hungry, and I'll be very clear to request only vegan items. What a disappointment. Four of us visited Salt Harvest for the first time for lunch, and the experience fell short of expectations. We each ordered the lunch burger, requesting medium doneness, but all of the burgers arrived overcooked, dry, and lacking flavor. The fries were slightly better, but not enough to make up for the main dish. At $32 for a lunch burger, the value simply wasn't there--I would have had a more satisfying meal at a fast-food restaurant. After a burger and soda, plus a 20% service charge, the total came to nearly $50 per person, which feels difficult to justify given the quality of the food. Unfortunately, this experience makes it unlikely that I would return. read more

Wow, incredible food! We were staying at the Populus and dined here before heading to a Mariners Game. The vegetable dishes we ate were standouts. Our server made the dinner memorable for us by bringing some items that we hadn't ordered to try and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and special. Finally my cocktail a peach bourbon jalapeño concoction was dreamy. I would have loved to try more of their cocktails. The setting was dark and cozy. I think this could be Seattle's next destination restaurant. It really is THAT good. Located in the new, PNW themed Populous Hotel in Pioneer Square. While the decor is fantastic, with a beautiful open kitchen, the star of the show was the food. A smallish menu, but packed with plenty for everybody. We began with a Bibb lettuce salad which was accompanied by thinly sliced carrots and watermelon radish along with a few walnuts. It was perfectly dressed and reminded me of a Waldorf salad. Next up were Manila clams with Kielbasa... what an inspired pairing. We ordered bread service for two and we were treated to a show in itself! A large tray complete with a steaming boule of hot sourdough with freshly made pickles, olive oil infused with anchovies, olives & peppers and cultured butter served up table side. Very impressive and delicious. This was followed by a spaetzle, with shaved Brussels sprouts, Beecher's cheese and mushrooms that went perfectly together. Our final dish was a seared black cod with baby bok choy and a fricassee of white beans. This was a classic example of synergy: the cod and the bok choy, by themselves seemed a touch under seasoned, while the beans alone were over seasoned slightly. But eaten together they were fantastic. All of the presentations were beautiful and we found the prices to be a great value considering the quality of the food, service and overall experience. This is a new spot that goes out of the way to make you feel welcome. They've done a great job with natural plants and materials. Great staff inside and a welcoming,, slightly trendy environment with a very local flair. Menu is slightly limited in choices but each of the dishes is well thought out and exceptionally well prepared. I've been twice with a few friends and have seen a lot of the lunch and dinner items. All of them were great, but their craft cocktails and customer focused staff are what really raise them to a solid 5 stars! read more

Visited Salt Harvest yesterday for drinks and for a few snack. The drinks were wonderful, the food surpassed our expectations and the interior design was beautiful. Had dinner here Saturday night with my hubs. Overall, the atmosphere is nice and the service is wonderful. It's the food that I have issues with. First, the raw bar. 3 of the 4 items listed alcohol as an ingredient. 1 item doesn't require the alcohol in it to be consumed, so I could have ordered that item. I'm highly allergic to alcohol so it was disappointing to realize that I couldn't partake in something I'm usually excited to order. Next...the salmon. I love salmon. It's my favorite. This was not it. Why? I got sick that night. We were seated at 6pm, done by 7pm and by 10pm I was hovering over the porcelain throne. I know I didn't get sick from anything else I ate that day. My husband and I ate the same stuff all day. The salmon was the only difference. I got sick, he didn't. N/a drinks were...interesting. Not my preferred flavor profile but ok. I didn't finish it. I can check it off my list, but not sure I'll be back. read more
