Green salad. It was too salty for me to finish.

Visit: 3 Date: 3/4/6 Time: 5:52pm What they got right: Location, friendly service and tasty food. Areas for improvement: n/a I've visited this place in the past and it's still the same. Great location at Pike Place Market, tasty French food and personable wait staff. Our server was great but when it got busy, I felt like we lost him. Prices reflect being in a prime tourist area. I would go back if I was in the area and hangry.

As a group, we split a couple things here - the 3 piece 'French' French Toast (actually added another piece to that to make it 4) and the Vegetable Quiche The french toast was pretty solid - it didn't really have the egg-like taste nor the fluffy texture that the absolute best french toasts have, but it wasn't bad. the inside was relatively thick, though, and it did feel like it was on the healthier side. Props for not putting an excessive amount of powdered sugar. I can't say the maple syrup they provide tasted like much, however. I really liked the part of the quiche that I had. It was baked perfectly, with a crispy and dark brown top, crust, and bottom. The best part was the inside, though, as it was slightly cheesy but not overly so, had some well-cooked mushrooms, and came apart super easily. The less-than-ideal part was that you get a single slice of the quiche for $22, which isn't really clear in the menu. We also got a pitcher of mimosas here, and these were pretty good. They certainly did not taste watered down at all. A pitcher is around $48, and enough for around 5-6 glasses, which is a decent value This is an expensive place, so I won't recommend coming here if you're really hungry. Since we ate a bit before, we were able to split the cost of the meal by only ordering 2 courses + the pitcher, and this still wasn't *that* filling. Even with two courses over 4 people it came out to around $32 per person near the end

A casual French bistro right in Pike Place. We had a dinner reservation and were seated quickly upon arriving. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a bottle of Vouvray which was refreshing and great. For apps, we got the Escargot de Bourgogne and French Onion Soup which were both really good. The onions could have been a bit more caramelized but was still quite flavorful and the broth was soothing. The escargots were cooked thoroughly and had a great garlic and butter sauce which we enjoyed dipping our complimentary bread in. For our main dishes, we got the Dungeness Crab Pasta and Magret de Canard. The poultry jus with the duck was delicious and the pasta had plenty of crab meat and shrimp. Great flavors all around. Overall, a great and delicious experience here!

I have passed by this restaurant so many times, I decided to book a reservation while visiting family for the holiday week. The front is rather abrupt, you walk in right to a bar top with lined with free postcards and a sign that says to wait to be seated. Reservation or not, you'll need to be acknowledged first before seating, this is standard in my opinion. My family and I all ordered different items, juice and cocktails to quiche and scrambled eggs. This is inarguably the best quiche Lorraine I have ever had. The eggs were fluffy, the greens were simple but complemented the richness of the lorraine, and it was a great portion for breakfast. The rest of my party ordered several other egg dishes and also enjoyed their choices. Even if it is tucked away on the side of Post Alley near Pike's Place, it is a great restaurant to go to and will be one I return to.

First time visiting this area, and I had no idea where to eat. After taking a photo in front of the original Starbucks (I didn't want to wait in line just to buy a coffee -- I'd rather mobile order and pick up from the one near my house), I wandered into a charming little accessory shop nearby and asked for lunch recommendations, preferably a cute café. The waitress there recommended one, and we decided to try it out. She kindly offered a coloring Eiffel Tower set to my little one, which was a sweet touch. I ordered a soy latte, a side of French toast, lobster with avocado mash, and a salmon tartine. The portion sizes were generous, but unfortunately, the bread on all the dishes was badly burnt and rock-hard. I had to cut off the burnt parts so I wouldn't break a tooth -- or worse, get sick. The lobster was fresh, and I enjoyed the mashed avocado, especially the crunch of chopped asparagus mixed in. The salmon was served smoked and a bit jerky-like, laid over a very thin spread of cream cheese on the burnt toast. It was okay. At least the side of arugula salad was fresh. The French toast, sadly, was awful -- it looked either burnt or cooked in dirty oil or on a poorly cleaned pan. I felt bad for my kid, since there wasn't a kids' menu, and French toast was pretty much the only option for him. It was even worse than what I remember from my old school cafeteria. Thank goodness I didn't order the full portion. I ended up grabbing him some fries from McDonald's on the way out. As for the soy latte -- I paid $8 and was expecting at least a grande, but it came in an espresso-sized cup. (I even embarrassingly asked if I could get it in a to-go cup in case I didn't finish -- clearly not a concern.) Service was nothing special; no one checked in with us after the food was served, though the lady at the front was sweet and welcoming. In total, I spent nearly $90 for lunch here, and I honestly wouldn't recommend it. For the same price, Café Nordstrom offers a much better experience and food quality.

A wonderful and delicious lunch. Our waiter was attentive , the food was delicious and it felt nice and intimate for lunch. We loved it!

Our experience here was a mixed bag, so only 4 stars. The service was mostly excellent. Our server and staff were very friendly and helpful, but were not always available when we wanted them. The French toast taste was very good, but really needed the syrup & fruit. Our sever forgot the syrup & we had to ask for it. It really didn't taste as good without the fruit. We have been to places that charged $11-12 for a side of bacon, but then u usually get 4-8 pcs depending on the place. $8 for 2 pcs even with inflation & a tourist area is too much. The bacon tasted like honey ham, not bacon. The flavor was good, but bacon is not supposed to taste like sliced ham. $11 for a mixed green salad with no meat nor vegetables that is just larger than a side salad is also too much. The salad tasted good, but was over priced. The mimosa for $13 for 1 glass was about right for a tourist place but $52 for a carafe is outrageous when we could get bottomless for 2 ppl for that price back home. The atmosphere here is nice. It was not too noisy for a weekday lunch nor too crowded. Our biggest complaint was that we came here specifically to get the quiche Lorraine, which we were promptly notified they were out of. The only things, in our opinion, worth getting on the menu are the French toast, quiche Lorraine, and brisket(?). We should have left at that point but had already walked 20 min to get there and didn't want to pay for an uber to go to another place for a dish that we wanted. If you want the quiche or any other item call ahead and make sure they have it. About $100 for a few scraps of lettuce, some fried toast, & 2 pieces of bacon is not worth it. Since everything else was good, we would come back to try the quiche Lorraine, but would all first and not go if they see out.

What I ordered: - French french toast - Oeufs en meurette avec pomme frites The French french toast had the perfect texture, not too mushy or firm. Each piece of toast had a hint of spice, which was pleasant. There was also an abundance of berries. The oeufs en meurette were cooked beautifully. The toast underneath was still crispy despite the runny yolk. The meurette (red wine-foie gras sauce) had a deep richness and slightly bitter aftertaste. The dish was an umami explosion with bacon, oeufs (eggs), and mushrooms in sauce. Only complaint is that I wanted the pomme frites (fries) a bit more crispy; the accompanying aioli was light and refreshing, really enjoyed the subtle garlic presence.

This place was highly recommended so I was excited to try it for the first time. I like how it is tucked away on a side street in Pike Place. The French theme is very apparent from the art to the furniture! It adds a really nice touch. I came here for breakfast and decided to try the classic Croque monsiuer. It was quite large! I split that and the vegetable quiche with my dining partner. The quiche was so light and fluffy, one of the best I've ever had! Both dishes came with a gorgeous fresh salad. We were both quite full, but wanted to get the french toast on the side for a little something sweet. Unfortunately the french toast was a bit lacking. I had been told the main entree of French Toast is really good, but this side version was a bit of a letdown. Overall I would love to come here for a dinner or another brunch at some point. There are so many delicious sounding menu items to choose from! Service was great as well.

On a random spur of the moment, we decided to go to Seattle and found this cute little French cafe, apparently from what locals where talking about while in there, this restaurant has been there for quite a long time compared to any other restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was simple but hearty with hints of spices that just put it all together.

We went here for Mother's Day brunch and got a reservation for an hour after we walked in. We walked around the market in the meantime and it was great. The service was nice however one of the glasses had lipstick on it and had to send it back. The food was amazing and well seasoned. Would definitely come back.

We came in around 1:45pmish and it wasn't crowded. They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I got their Caramelized Banana Latte to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it wasn't too banana-flavored nor too sweet; the black sesame in it balanced it nicely. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. It was very bland and not sweet at all. I do prefer my mochi to have a little sweetness to them, like a sweet bite. This was like chewing a bigger non sweet boba ball. So I'd pass on the mochi here and maybe do all ice cream. If ever we're in Seattle would visit again. Update: we came here a few yrs later. The drinks were still good as ever. This comes in a very large cup, with layers of matcha ice cream, cornflakes, vanilla whippedd cream, and mochi at the bottom. I'll be honest that the matcha ice cream wasn't my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of matcha in general, but I have had examples where the sweetness balances with the earthiness better - and this felt like it leaned too much into the earthiness side of it. It just tasted off when mixed with everything else. What was exceptional, though, was the second and third layers. Mixing the cornflakes with the vanilla whipped cream/yogurt layer was awesome. The crunchy texture provided with the creamy vanilla flavor really worked - and it felt like what the essence of a parfait is with the textural and flavor contrast. I think I would've liked this a lot more if the top had been vanilla ice cream instead - submitting a request to have that as an option on the menu. This was pretty expensive. It cost 14 dollars for a single parfait. That's just a crazy amount. I know it's pretty big, but it's simply overpriced. Overall, it's a decent but not very practical dessert. 5.5/10

Key Points: - Iconic khachapuri "bread boats"…read more- minor drawback: limited coffee customization options and only forks available The Fam and I stopped by Skalka for some breakfast/brunch before perusing the rest of Seattle during my birthday week. I saw it on a few YouTube food influencer videos and was really impressed by what I saw. The their staple is their Georgian khachapuri. They're the iconic bread "boats" filled with cheese, butter, egg, and whatever comes along the variety you ordered. TBH, I actually thought they looked like little volcanoes, which is something I figured The Little One would enjoy. What we ordered: - Stroganoff: one of the popular items listed on the yelp page. The beef was rich, succulent and comforting, with a creamy, savory filling. The pickles added a bit of bright, tangy contrast to balance the richness. - Adjaruli, the classic version with cheese, butter, and egg. To me, this seemed like the plainest version, but I figured The little One would be more likely eat this because she hates anything that resembles a sauce or toppings. Both dishes were fantastic. The bread boat sort of reminded me of a pizza crust: crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and perfect for tearing off and dipping into the cheesy center. The Little one did especially like the crust since she's a big pizza-crust fan. Surprisingly, getting her to eat the cheese and egg was tougher, as she usually likes those. I guess that's just being a kid? Inconsistent fluctuations of opinions and likings? The Mrs. and I happily finished everything she left behind. The restaurant itself is a small, casual spot with self-service kiosks for ordering and open seating. Nothing fancy, but it's efficient. We also appreciated that they had high chairs available, making it easy to visit with a child. We did see other families with kids there too. My only gripes: - once you've submitted your kiosk order, making changes isn't really possible. The staff is so busy going in and out of the kitchen, that you really don't have any opportunity to flag them down. We actually wanted to make one minor change to our order, but by the time I managed to talk to someone about it, she informed me that the order was already being made. - If you order coffee, you need to decide on cream, half-and-half, and sugar ahead of time, seemingly preset amounts. It's entirely prepared in the kitchen, not self serve, and you can't exactly customize to your liking. - Only forks were available. No spoons, no knives. Knives would have been helpful for cutting through the thicker bread crust. Those are very minor complaints, though. The food was excellent, the concept is unique, and the meal was memorable. Won't dock any points off there.

Wifi available, washroom (restrooms) available, and outlets available. Ube Phe Latte - rich, creamy, ube foam on top of a strong ca phe! There's also some ube milk, so a three layered drink. Both parts of ube were nutty, sweet, and paired with the ca phe amazingly. Strong Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk always hits but the ube mixture is a cherry on top. Up there with the other ube coffees around. Strawberry Matcha - honestly a simple no frills strawberry matcha. Smoothly whisked matcha, lightly sweetened strawberry puree, and a cup to be mixed in. Maybe more jam than other spots, which can help sweeten the drink and add some texture (chewiness), so might have to say above average.

I was exploring around Chinatown and decided to stop into Jollidaze to get a iced drink. Since, I…read morehadn't had my Vietnamese coffee fix for the day. There is a small lot for $9/hr or paybyphone street parking. My wife ordered a mocha. She thought it was pretty good. The Classic: Vietnamese robusta beans dripped with phin filter, condensed milk (3/5). A lighter coffee taste similar to coffee ice cream. A small and simple shop with a few seats to sit at. Order via kiosk or cashier.

They offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (note that pets are not allowed indoors). They have a great selection of hot brunch items, plus pastries and cakes. The whole place is modern and bright. The coffee tasting menu is unique, offering latte and espresso flights, and pour-overs. We tried the latte flight, which comes with four adventurous, creative flavors--including a miso latte! Overall, they were a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but very fun to try. The pour-over, however, was phenomenal: deep, rich, and full of berry notes. For food, we had: * Almond Croissant: Perfectly crispy on the outside. I loved that the filling was distributed all the way to the edges, so you get some in every single bite. * Chicken Avocado Salad: A wonderfully light meal featuring grilled chicken breast and a light dressing.

As soon as I walked in, I noticed the selection of pastries, hot brunch items, and coffee drinks. The coffee tasting menu looked enticing. If I had more time to leisurely work or talk with company here, I would have opted to go this more adventurous route. However, I did end up trying one of their seasonal menu items - the Sakura Blossom Cloud Latte. I customized this drink with oat milk, even though the foam has to stay as dairy. The oat milk added a nutty creaminess that I particularly enjoyed. There were notes of the sweet Sakura syrup with a slight saltiness from the cream foam that gives the drink its perfect balance. It was a refreshing drink for a pick-me-up and they only had it for a limited time! My only thing is that I felt some coffee beans at the bottom that may not have been grinded as finely but other than that, the drink was amazing and I would recommend as a good backdrop for a spring walk!
