Placer Concrete is top-notch, and their work speaks to why they've been in business 20+ yr while other companies are very flighty. Called PC and Bob came out to our house to give us a bid. I was in the middle of still grading and if the quote worked out, I wanted to ensure I got on their calendar. Bob not only came out later that week, but was early.... Exactly, two things contractors don't usually do - I was already impressed with there professionalism. Although there was a bit of miss-communication and delay in work, once back on track, work was completed by the new date we agreed upon. His crew showed up in full force and framed everything. They cleaned up each evening leaving little to no mess. The day if the pour, they taped the house to protect it which j was very pleased to see. Although they attempted, and by all accounts did so, the reviewed the plastic too early. During the finishing, cream splashed up in the house and I have been working a little here and there to remove (this was a disappointment). They also cleaned there tools on a new block wall which left concrete and cream residue. All in all, great price, great crew and love the end result; their time and price beat others with a 20 history in the business. Would hands down give five stars if we didn't get delayed due to communication and residual / spots of splatter. I would call them again, but would mindful of these things. read more

I was introduced to Placer and found Bob, the president to be very open, engaging and honest. When I contracted with them for a full back patio tear out and hot tub pad install, I was introduced to Hiva, the Foreman. The whole team did an amazing job, even delayed by our recent 200 yr storm. A man by the name of Bob came out to do an estimate. He was running 45 minutes late. He didn't bring any measuring tools. He suggested that I should provide all the calculations. Even if I did, any responsible contractor should re-measure and calculate to be sure. The job was not small--probably at least 10 to 20K--but for some reason, chose not to invest even the time to take any measurements for a bid. Maybe they just have too much work in the winter time--but it seems like laziness to me. Not a good first impression of a credible business. read more

They have done a few jobs at our house, and each time it is efficient and cleaned up well. This last job was to pour a step off the pool, and while they were pouring the concrete they realized a better option would be to make it into two steps instead of one. They quickly cut the wood to adjust the form, got more cement and magically it transformed. It's a much better look as it transitions off the deck. Great job to Havi and his crew. read more

Bob and his team poured a new concrete patio in our backyard and he went way beyond what I expected. He immediately noticed that we had some drainage issues in our yard, and they installed a pipe under the patio for no extra charge. All of the workers were friendly, explained everything to me, and did great work. After the work was finished, Bob went out of his way to help me with some last minute fixes for water drainage. He was always available to answer our calls and wanted to make sure all our questions were answered. After my initial contact, owner Bob Garrison came personally to walk my project and provide my a quote for the work. I signed the contract in the midst of a wet March and said once the weather clears and it dries out I'd like to get the work done. Bob texted me on a Saturday saying this coming week looks clear and dry and I can have a crew there on Monday. Bob showed up with his crew and we walked the job and he made sure his crew was clear on what to do. He said it would be a three day job and he was done in three days. We were dealt a bad hand with a former concrete contractor that left us with shoddy work and a horrific mess to somehow correct. Without knowing where to go or what steps to take next, we started with research using Yelp and a Google Reviews. Which is where we found Placer Concrete Construction. We noticed every review and I mean every review being five star rated with comments filled with praise and pure appreciation for the company's team and their work (not typical of any company) With that said we scheduled an appt with Bob, met with him a few days later and one of his first words were "it's going to be ok guys" and that was it, that's what sold us. Placer Concrete recently finished laying concrete in a small area next to our driveway. Bob was great to work with during the project. He came right out and had a bid for the job the next day. A few days later the crew was out and quickly prepared the area, and answered all my questions. The next morning they were pouring concrete. The crew worked fast but were very friendly and didn't seem to mind that I was talking with them while they worked. Just had concrete installed in my side yard from the back patio to the driveway. Bob was very quick to schedule the appointment for an estimate and had the estimate to me by the next day. After getting a few estimates from other contractors, I was impressed that Bob's estimate had all of the relevant details. Not only was Bob much cheaper than the others, but he also included the size of rebar, the locations of the dowling into the existing sections of concrete, and specified what sack concrete they would use. Dave and the crew showed up on time, were quick and detail oriented, and cleaned up at the end of the day. As my job was a smaller job, I had to wait a bit until they had the concrete truck and pumper in the area, but that was no big deal. The job came out looking spectacular, I couldn't be happier. I was in the construction field for 15 years, and Dave and his crew are not the "blow and go" type crew, they are obviously true craftsmen. They were actually slightly cheaper than our other bids and they were SO much better. They stayed at it until the job was done and it turned out great. My only complaint was they accidentally damaged a curb and flower bed, but Bob was eager to make it right and we came to an agreement on all that.
