I didn't actually get anything from this facility, I still had fantastic service. I called them to ask about getting a clamp for a loose propane hose on my camping trailer. I talked to Rick the manager, and he said to send him a picture of the clamp. I texted him some pictures on his cell phone and he said he didn't have what I needed but that I could go to Home Depot and get that part that I needed. I appreciated him working with me before I wasted A trip to his facility and it was awesome he let me communicate with his personal cell phone. What a wonderful company. I love the level of customer service they provide. ALWAYS friendly when I call, and can remember the differences between the two accounts I manage with them. I've never had billing issues, or complaints about their service. Their prices are the best anywhere, and because we own our tanks, there is no contract needed. Great olace to refill your tanks. When you exchange your tanks from a cage you lose a little confidence in regards to the age or quality of your next bottle. Best thing to do is to take the bottle you know you can trust and have them refilled here. The staff watches for any signs of damage and will advise you accordingly. They also test bottles for recertification and can also exchange the valve if needed. Placer propane is a full-service propane company that I trust completely. read more

You would think that a company that handles flammable gas products would have safety as their #1 concern. Apparently not so. Around noon on May 7, 2019, a full sized blue pickup truck with the white "Placer Propane" sign on the door was easily driving 90mph or more on eastbound I-80; between Greenback and the truck scales, and swapping lanes back and forth. I was going about 70 when he flew by, so 90 is a conservative estimate. There were about 2 dozen metallic propane tanks in the bed of his pickup. If you're going to be that reckless and unsafe, at least don't do it in your company vehicle. It makes your company looks really really bad. read more

Placer Propane provides excellent service. In the last year I have called them twice (once because we thought we smelled a gas leak) & once with a question regarding the propane supply while our gas fireplace was being installed. BOTH times Rick basically said, "I'll be right there." He dropped whatever he was doing and was at our house within 20 minutes. I didn't expect that - especially this last call. I feel like they run a local business in a small town and truly care about their customers. I don't know of any other business that would do what he did. He's also very knowledgeable. read more

Great service. I went to a Ready mix business in Lincoln, CA, that sells propane in order to fill my two 5 gallon BBQ tanks. One of my tanks was empty, and the other was partially full. I was informed that one of my tanks was to old to be serviced, but they filled my other tank for $21.00, for only three gallons. I seems they had a minimum service charge for that, regardless of the amount of propane sold. I took my other tank in to Placer Propane, their guy checked out my old unit (which was fine), charged me $7.95 for recertification, and filled up the old tank (taking about 4.5 gallons). The total charge was $22.73. I got more gas, plus a new certification, for about the same charge as the Lincoln provider. I'll always use these guys for propane service. read more

I normally deal with the manager. Today, the manager was not at the plant. Because we have 25 gallon tanks, we get the "home rate" for fill ups. I even have a card stating get a discount on propane from them. The manager will what I can get it at a different location, which is a lot cheaper than $2.44 a gallon. I asked them to call the manager and asked if I could speak with the manager. He wasn't there and they called and the manager stated, "I can't have the lower rate. The $2.44 is the best I get." I only took in two of my 25 tanks and two of 5 gallon tanks. If they fill them up to 80%, which they should, they should only be 4 gallons for the two small tanks = 8 gallons. Then the tanks should have had 20 to 21 gallons a piece. Total of 42 gallons for the big tanks. And then the gallons for the small tanks. So, high side, should have been no more than at 50 gallons. Max!!! They charged me for 73 gallons of propane. I was pissed! Will never business with them again. read more
