What a Joke. Who knew that having Herger Gas come & replace your Brown's Gas Tank would End Up costing You a $500 Mistake on Herger's Side. Herger was supposed to Swap Tanks & Transfer Propane to The New Tank. Did they do that? Of Course not! What did they do? They FILLED Our New Tank & Charged Us $480 for a Mistake Devin made. When I called to Resolve the Issue, they gave us the Option to either Pay or Come get the Tank (during Winter) that's a Terrible way to do Business! Our existing propane company went corp and Herger Gas was smart enough to be passing out flyers in Oregon house CA so we called them. It was a fantastic experience. The set up was great and they have great customer service. Not to mentioned I am saving a ton of money by switching to them. It's so great to see that family own business' are still thriving. My family and I were affected by the Paradise Fire. Our family had 6 adults and 3 dogs come to live with us because 3 homes were destroyed. We had a different propane company at the time that was not willing to meet our needs (extra small propane tanks etc). We called Herger Propane and WOW!!! Dean the owner came out himself and assessed the situation and went into action!! He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of as if we were his own family members! All his employees (from office workers to the delivery and setup people) were the same way! They told us what great people the owners are and what a great company to work for! I'll write an update. I had a propane backup generator installed recently. I called Herger Propane in order to seek help getting a gas line run to the generator. Paul came out and checked out the situation, returned and got everything hooked up quickly. He's a great guy and did an excellent job. I've used Herger Gas for 5+ years and all of my interactions with them, be it the office person, the delivery people and the installation people have been great. They are all very nice and helpful. I wouldn't even give them one star, but to post I need to. I have been with them for about ten years. I opened the account in my name but someone put it in my now ex husband's name. The woman who answers the phone Kristin or something close to that. Has always been rude to me. I always pay my bill. When I asked for the bill to be put in my name she told me that it would be paid on delivery. In a very hostile way. I have been responsible for this bill since I open the account. We LOVE these guys. Not only did they do a complimentary gas line check from our tank to our gas appliances on their first visit, they also came on Christmas Eve because we let our tank get too low! Their sunday answering service is very reliable, their employees are very nice and polite and their propane rates are the best. We would never call anyone else for our gas needs. read more

Up until last month, We had always had great customer service with this company.. we are signed up on a monthly service with them that they send a guy out to check the tank to make sure we are not low and if we are they send a guy out to fill us back up. Last month we went dry. I called upset and they sent a delivery guy out to fill us up until they could send the regular truck out to fill us back up to full.. As the service guy comes out we are trying to brain storm as to what happened.. I was then told its because we didnt pay our bill.. Upset I called back, and explained that I was just told by their service guy its because we didnt pay our bill. She apologized and said she would make sure he was told that was not the isssue. That they had a new person working for them and that somehow the ball was dropped on our service. She told us it would never happen again. Well here we are again a month later and out its Saturday and I was told by the service guy again its because we did not pay our bill.. I am livid. We are renting this house for now almost two years. We pay our bills. When we moved here we were told that this program was great because they send a service guy out from time to time to make sure we dont run out.. This is now twice that we have run dry and twice I have had this service guy hint that its because we dont pay our bill.. Not acceptable at all.. I would be careful when choosing this service right now.. we are weighing our options on going with another service company as of now. Its one thing to have mistakes happen but in the middle of winter on a weekend is not how you want to start your day. read more

I go through plenty of propane and Herger Gas has never once allowed my take to go to empty. Also, the new management contacted me directly to make certain that I was satisfied with the service...and I am. I appreciate the personal touch they have added to their business. read more

These guys were lifesavers for me and my family this week!! When I completely ran out of propane (no heat with 30 degree nights, no hot water, no dryer, no oven, etc.) my old propane supplier wouldn't come out for 7 - 10 business days or within 48 hours for an additional $150 fee, Herger sent Paul out the same day with a temporary solution and back the next with a permanent one!! Paul was awesome and so was the manager I spoke with in the office!! Very thankful. read more

One word... Ruuuuuuuun! A poorly dressed rude Herger Gas representative showed up on my door step one morning demanding $200 or he was going to shut off my gas... In january! I asked him to give some time to verify who he was as I did not know I was on propane because I had just moved in. It turns out my land lord specifically asked them not fill the tank because we were moving so soon (short term lease), but they blew off his request and filled it anyway. Despite my plea he got really pushy and raised his voice. I asked him where was his ID and logo on his clothing. He could only show me an old dirty Herger hat. I also explained that I was late for an appointment and that I would call them later. He gave me a few blank work orders not even a bill and said he was turning off my gas as I left. Shortly there after I called the receptionist who said sorry "No one told us". I verified that they did know (my land lord) but failed to record my land lords request. I build custom homes in placer county, and I will never use nor recommend Herger Gas. They are rude, money hungry, and play dumb to hustle your money from you. I know you can get professional & polite service elsewhere. #Propane service fail! read more

I have had many propane providers over the years and its Herger that I choose to by far. I signed up with them a little over a year ago and am so glad we did. There prices are great and so is there customer service. I needed gas over a weekend and they came out after hours to make sure I didn't run out. Awsome company. read more
