This is strictly about the horse racing experience. Yesterday was a beautiful day. There were lots of people out to watch the races. The bar was so slammed the entire time, they had only one bartender on. She had a whole bar full of people plus a never ending line of patrons waiting for drinks. It was awful. We also did a little gambling and were incredibly disappointed when our horse won the race only to find out the gentleman who gave us our ticket hit the wrong horses number. Gambled on horse #1, the ticket was for horse #2! So we lost all those winnings. The man did apologize but it was just so disappointing. In all it was fun to go watch the horses, but I was very surprised that the outdoor bar wasn't open. It was really a beautiful day and they lost out on lots of revenue from not properly staffing for the crowds. Lastly, we went into the casino to get some food only to find out there are very few options. Pizza, burgers or Dunkin. We ordered a pizza to take back to the grand stand and it was mediocre. Kind of a sad day and we will not be rushing back again. read more

I have a ticket they're not letting cash because it's "expired". My money, that I put into the machine and withdrew when I didn't spend all of it, is somehow expired and they're just keeping it. They're refusing to work with me at all and just keep saying "that's the rule". Casino credits? Vouchers? Nope nothing, just telling me I can't have MY money. I've never dealt with a casino less willing to work with customers/patrons than plainridge. Don't make the mistake I made and go here. It's not classy like Vegas but FRANK always has a grand time playing slots at PLAINRIDGE CASINO. I've made and lost a small fortune playing the slots here and enjoyed it. As for the casino it's a moderate sized local casino with all the latest gaming money can offer. Friday & Saturdays are a tad blown out by the senior citizen crowd with walkers , wheelchairs and ambulatory devices they drag around but late night or weekdays are the easiest time to find a machine. The most popular machines can be a wait but you can listen to live music or grab some treats at Dunkin Donuts for a sugar & caffeine high to get you ready or SLICE for some pizza but SMASH BURGER offers some most edible greasy burgers and I love them. Only a few things I dislike about the place: 1: people saving machines and wandering off to do whatever. Come on this is a joke only scene in the commonwealth. 2: Chowda Heads talking to you while your gambling. Who wants someone watching your games and comments on your wind or bets? Mind your own F-ing biz pal! I'd say hit high limit room for better odds of winning. Do the math and you'll comprehend why. This is a Well-lit & clean casino that has a dunkin donuts, Wahlburgers, pizza, and a great Sports Book that also offers food and a 50 foot TV that puts on the favorite sports for the patrons. There are other eateries also. They have a trotters race track out back and many TVs that offer off track betting. They have FREE concerts at the Revolution Lounge. The ratio to payouts compared to FOXWOODS's or Mohegan Sun is in my opinion extremely low..... Not really fun playing at a machine that just takes and takes. This is a WARNING to everyone! If you have cash out vouchers cash them out before you leave! I had a cash out voucher for $130.08 that I had saved for the next time I went to the casino. Unfortunately I had health issues and wasn't able to go back to the casino for over a year. I tried putting the voucher in the machine but it was rejected. I went to a cashier and she said that since it was older than a year old she couldn't cash it and she had to keep it! So I was out my voucher of over $130.00 and I have no proof that it was mine. It seems like I have no recourse in getting my money back. I think that is a very unfair practice! She said that it was printed on the voucher, that it expires in one year. I will NEVER go back to Plainridge Casino again, and I caution others so that hopefully they will not lose money on their vouchers. read more

My dad and I frequent Encore often but he wanted a change of scenery and try out Plainridge. I'm not a slots player but this place has a respectable amount of slot machines with a small High Limits section. It was kind of odd that they don't have a restroom in the area. How else are you going to trap your High Limit slot players? Just kidding, but not really. My husband and I wanted to grab a bite while waiting for my dad and there were only 3 options available but we only found 2. I believe they are renovating to expand or revamp where the restaurants / food hall is. Perhaps, next time when I take my dad back, there will be more food options. Stopped by last night 2/2 and wow was it busy! Got there just after 9 and stayed until almost 1am. The place was just crawling with people, def the busiest I have ever seen it and I stop in a couple times a month (usually on Saturdays). The sports bar is very nice, they have the food court area under construction, quite interested to see how that is when it's done. They did get new carpeting throughout the casino. Last night though was just a mess, there was a lot of trash on the floors (for forbid people find a trash can) glasses and bottles just all over the floor and people walking accidentally would kick stuff. Some machines had papers and cups and things left on them. Machines were almost impossible to get on until 10:30-11. I am really annoyed that there is seat holding allowed. Connecticut casinos have signs stating no seat holding or leaning chairs on machines. I must have asked 10 people if I could sit and they said "oh someone's using this one they will be right back" but when I would walk back by minutes later no one was still there! Ridiculous. I do wish the bar area had more seating somehow because there was quite a few people sitting at machines near the bar watching the band, I was able to get a machine after asking a guy if he was going to be playing and he said "no I was just watching the band" so he was nice and got up. I was a little surprised that the bathrooms weren't as tidy as usual but maybe because I haven't been on a Friday before it was different... usually there is always someone in there cleaning and checking toilet paper stock. I wish the sink was warm and not cold. I dont know if this is a way to save money? Bally's also has cold water which is annoying. I think going forward I will stick to popping in on a Saturday or just seemed crazy for a Friday. Visited plainridge park casino on Sunday October 13 to watch football in the sports book with my three sons. Had a booth close to the front . Cannot say enough good things about this experince . Our waitress Autum was outstanding ....helpful pleasant and enthusiastic . Food and drink selection were great .Everyting thing we ordered arrived quickly and was delicious . Will be returning again as soon as possible and told a few friends about this hidden gem ....all good Checked in on line and was seated within minutes by a very nice hostess. Viewing of the games from our seats couldn't have been any better . I'm fully aware that this is merely a slot parlor but man what a dump this place is. Their food court area was under construction for some time and it doesn't seem like anybody takes care of this place. I have periodically stopped by here over the past three years and it just keeps getting worse. The people who work here are absolutely in polite and unfriendly. Not helpful at all not really sure what it is. They actually do there and certainly do not have people skills. If you do not like interacting with people and helping them, please do us all a favor and find yourself another job instead of taking out your aggression on people coming here to have a good time. They also now have metal detectors which was not here before. I'm not sure if this has now become somewhat of a seedy area but usually never a good sign when you start seeing metal detectors in casinos. It's not very clean inside, and there are literally buttons that are broken on a lot of the slot machines with the wires hanging out. I spent about 30 minutes in here and couldn't wait to leave. I seriously do not recommend coming here. You will be thoroughly disappointed. Save your money and go to Foxwoods instead. Once again, I understand that this is not a resort/casino like Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun, but just even as a slot parlor it is so scummy looking Inside and out I would not waste your time coming here. This place needs to be investigated. The slots don't even give you a sniff at the possibility of walking away a winner. I usually walk in with $40-$60 and their machines just suck it dry in 5 minutes. At least 15 visits since it opened and not once have I got ONE PENNY above the amount I started with. Go to Twin River, at least you can get ahead every once in a while and cash out with a couple of more bucks than you started with. read more

Happen to be in the area looking for a place to have a quick snack, also feeling a little adventurous and lucky at the same time, we decided to pull into Plainridge casino. It was my first time visiting. Casino floor was clean and lively, atmosphere was fantastic and the Big Bonusnis that it's a smoke free establishment. We walked around to look at the food choices and stumbled upon the Sportbook. It looked like a very casual place with giant TV mounted all over the walls and Boston team championship pendants was hung proudly above us. We sat and was greeted almost immediately by the friendly waitstaff and we ordered a Birra beef taco and garlic parm wings. Food came out very quickly and was fresh and piping hot. The beef taco was tasty very meaty and also came with a side of chips and salsa. The Wings are jumbo sized and was covered with garlic and parmesan cheese which was to die for. Every bite was bursting with flavors. Again, we went in only for a quick snack so we didnt explore much of anything else. We did notice the sandwich selections and the burgers looked amazing. We did notice the table next to us ordered a nacho platter that I almost went over to ask if I can take a picture of it because it looked ridiculously mouth-watering. Will definitely go back and try out a few more items when im in that area again. Expecting an expensive check since it was inside a casino but to my pleasant surprise, the prices were very reasonable. read more

To be fair, it seems as though they might have been extra short-staffed on my last visit, but I've found the customer service staff members rude on more than occasion. I've been there several times, and it's fun to spend a little time there, don't get me wrong; but, it's not due to the the quality of the venue. It's pretty awful. The restrooms were filthy. Hand sanitizer dispensers were empty. Slot machines disgustingly sticky. Food court tables dirty. ...and last but not least: Plainridge makes no attempt whatsoever to enforce EV parking spaces. I'd prefer that they were located in the back where nobody else wants to park, but because the EV chargers are right up front and Plainridge doesn't enforce, they are constantly taken by non-EVs. Tried for a couple of hours to find a spot to move my car, and finally one opened up. Before I could get there it was quickly snatched up by a non-EV. The driver, upon my asking if he realized this was EV-only parking, said that the casino doesn't care. Too bad, not sorry. He's right. They don't. They could put notes on cars, they could announce plates to move their cars, they could patrol once in a while to discourage drivers from parking there. Nothing. I asked at the casino: the "gentleman" from security said dismissively there's nothing they can do-- "people are gonna just park there." Well, other venues manage quite well (e.g., Encore)... but Plainridge is clearly just inept, uncaring, and unwilling --and nasty about it too. Also, many of the chargers were non-functional making it a game of musical chairs (without the music or the fun). I wish I had taken some pictures, and if I ever return, I will. read more

The first time I visited this "casino" I caught them cheating. The video roulette game started off fair enough, I was actually up a hundred dollars but all of a sudden, the game changed my bet from 1$ per number to 5$ a number, which put my entire credits into play, then naturally I lost that game. I thought maybe I did something wrong, so I put another 100$ in and started playing again, but the same thing happened again so I called for service, which took 20 minutes just for someone to come over to me, then I had to deal with their security enforcer Mr. Beard who tried to intimidate me and told me if I wanted to review the video recording from my play that showed the malfeasance occurring, I would need a lawyer. After about an hour of keeping me there and being argumentative and combative, it took me writing down the fair gaming info number to finally have them give me back 75% of my money, and at that point, I just wanted to leave so I accepted that. I regrettably gave them another chance since I was in the area and this time was even worse. I dumped about a 1000$ into a slot machine and actually won a jackpot! Great news right? NOPE, the same security goon they have approached me with two state troopers and said that because I voluntarily trespassed myself from Encore casino because they insulted me and I wanted to make a point, that I was trespassed from Plainridge and they wouldn't be paying me my jackpot and I had to leave immediately. They refused to give me any kind of incident report and wouldn't give me back any of the money it took me to win the jackpot, so they basically just stole 4K from me. The funny thing is that when I trespassed myself from Encore, I specifically asked them if this would effect me at any other casino and they said only Wynn in Las Vegas, which I don't go to, so I didn't worry about it. The place is sketchy and I suspect they have a number of scams going like this. Save your money folks, don't pay this unnecessary tax to Massachusetts only to be scammed, this has mafia like tactics, the food court is a joke, the drinks are horrible and it's overall a depressing environment. read more

This is the RW Casino of Massachusetts with friendlier employees. It's a racino too (they also have horse cart racing during the day). Everyone here was very hospitable from the security at the door to the cage. There are no live dealers from what we saw (we came like 1am). The machines are kind of confusing, but I somehow managed to win $26! I am not a big gambler so I took the coins to go. Yay me! My bf tossed in like $50, so we are technically down $30 now . The dunkin donuts was the only food open. Luckily the prices were cheap and the coffee was good. There are also free soda machines throughout the space (along the walls). The bathrooms are spacious and mostly clean. Not a bad way to kill a few hours. read more

It's getting better. It started out where the food options (Smashburgers, Fluties', etc.) were all pretty lousy, the payouts were scarce, the whole experience was like being in a noisy high school auditorium. But over time it's gotten noticeably better. The menu at the sports bar has improved along with Walburger's, it's got all new carpet, but most importantly, their free slot play offerings are WELL above those of the Connecticut casinos, and the payouts feel like they're much better. I mean, the house is still going to win in the long-term, but you'll hit something unlike the early days where it was a pure donation. A poker room would be awesome, just saying. Oh, and unlike every other casino, the cash-out machines give you real change. It's a little thing but it makes you think you're not getting (literally) nickeled and dimed by the place. read more

I have been going to this establishment since it opened the slots in 2015. We usually have a great time - food is good @slacks Oyster house, staff is friendly and the comps are pretty good. Today, however was less than acceptable. My husband's players card did not work in many machines and he couldn't get his $15 food comp ticket to print from the kiosks. When he asked the security guard, they did not know what to do. In addition, there was an elderly patron near the kiosk that also needed assistance. My husband tried to help her by walking her concerns to the player's booth. Once he got to the booth, he had to wait in a long line before he got to the window. The cage person told him that there was nothing that could be done, but gave him $20 in free play. He then had to walk back over to the kiosks on the other side of the casino to help the lady that needed her ticket. 30 minutes later, he still had no coupon and no food.
