I donated my non-working car to Kars 4 Kids and Plakos Scrap Processing was the company that towed it away. They were great! Very sweet, kind, caring, and totally professional. The driver who came for my car was delightful and also very understanding. I'm afraid I was a bid of a nuisance! But he was completely terrific about all of it. I hired Plakos to quickly remove and scrap a vehicle, and the service ended up causing significant damage to my exterior wall. That was on November 6, 2025, and weeks later the issue is still not resolved. I've spoken multiple times with the driver and with the reception staff, and I keep getting vague promises with no follow-through. At one point, I was even told by the employee who caused the damage he could just pay it off bit by bit, which is completely unprofessional. The responsibility is with the company, yet they've put the burden on me to chase people down and sort it out myself. As of now, no reimbursement has been issued for the $750 contractor repair quote, and I've spent far too much time trying to get a simple, straightforward resolution. What should have been a quick service has turned into weeks of frustration. I do not recommend this company. The lack of accountability, the delays, and the expectation that a customer should clean up their mess--literally and figuratively--are unacceptable. read more

Echoing what everyone else has said, had my own poor experience with Plakos today via a Peddle deal. Peddle verbally confirmed the offer I received through their online system during a phone call, Plakos wouldn't authorize the tow truck person to pay the full offer amount due to a replaced catalytic converter. We shared with Peddle that it had been replaced, Peddle confirmed their offer. Think twice before agreeing to a vehicle pick-up with them, seems like they're skimming off the top. read more

WARNING !! WORST. I had never dealt with such an unprofessional disorganized company . I had decided to Donate a car to Karz4kids foundation and they utilized this company to mediate the transition. The incredible disregard for customer service, I highly advise people to use any other services besides this company . They will promise you a time , won't call at all even if it is hours later ; until you look for your own update on why the car has not been picked for 6 hrs.... Regrettably Forces the person to reschedule, to yet again wait for additional 3 hours from promised appointment time- while you have to constantly check why it's still being late. They won't give you the courtesy call to say that the driver is running behind, they'll provide you an estimate time once you make the initiative to find out more info and they will still not honor the time they have given you. So here again, You'll make another call to find out the next lie of the time they'll get to you. Poor customer service mannerisms. Unprofessional No regards to people's livelihood. My experience has been similar to the other negative reviewers of this buinsess. To put it simply, the manager was rude and acted as if he didn't have the time to negotiate. His demaeanor was rude and offensive. When leaving, I was also on the recieving end of some looks. Overall, my impression is that this is a poorly run business by managers who obviously lack hospitality. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I won't be coming back here anytime. read more

Plakos is a recycling yard, they help you when you are looking to get a problematic car to scrap and get money back. I was helping my Brother scrap dozens of old cars and he told me to call Plakos to help him schedule. They were really helpful, honest, and offered good value for their service. After dealing with them by phone many times Plato's is highly recommended by me and my Brother. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My car recently died on me and instead of paying $3000 to fix a $3100 car, I decided to scrap it. Did some research and was matched with Plakos Scrap Processing through a third party called Peddle. Scheduled an appointment on Monday 11/21 for the car to be picked up on Friday 11/25 between 10-12pm. Friday comes and I get everything ready for the car to be taken away. 12pm rolls around and I contact the business to see if my car was still being picked up today. Was told the drivers name was John and that he would call when he's on his way. 3 o'clock rolls around and I STILL have not heard anything. I called the office and the lady who answered was not very helpful. I asked her why my car hadn't been picked up yet and she's like I'm not sure the driver would know more. I get the drivers number and call him. He stated he called me and left a voicemail but I never receive a call or a voicemail. I was told that I was never put on the schedule in the first place. He told me he could pick up the car the following day (11/26). He asked me what time I would like the car to be picked up and I said as early as possible so like 9. He stated that the place opens at 8:30 but could be by to pick up the car around 9:30-10 and I was perfectly fine with that. He asked me what the latest I would like the car picked up by was and I said 3. Saturday morning comes and I don't hear any from the John. 2pm rolls around and I decide to give him a call and he states that he doesn't get to pick what time each car gets picked up (why did he ask me what time I wanted it picked up) and stated he would be by to pick up the car AFTER 4pm! I'm flabbergasted by this and then he asks me if I would like to reschedule the pickup for Monday..... I had to rearrange my schedule for both FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. I have been waiting to look at new cars because I will be using the money I receive from this car towards my down payment. To top it all off the driver never showed up today to pick up the car which was the last straw for me. My advice is that if you're looking to scrap your car don't look here because they have very poor communication and do not care that you have to rearrange your schedule multiple times to fit the SUPPOSED TIME they say they would get the car. read more

This is the worst service i ever had, i called to ask for a part but before i finished my sentence the lady said blurted out something while i was still asking my question. i asked what she said and she blurted out again with a thank you and hung up on me. saying thank you and hanging up on someone dont make you friendly, it makes you rude and gives the company a bad taste. read more

I had an old car that was collecting rust in my driveway. I called a few of the flyers for junk cars that were posted on the street, and all the guys seemed pretty shady. I didn't know where to go and a friend recommended this scrap yard to me. THEY WERE AWESOME! I was worried I was going to be taken advantage of (as a woman in Brooklyn), but they paid me a great price for my car and I got to watch it be smashed! It was all around a great experience. The brothers were all very nice (and handsome : ). I would recommend Plakos Scrap Yard to anyone. read more
