I found a well-maintained, super clean lot, with great condition variety of vehicles, and had a knowledgeable and pressure-free experience with Ryan, test driving a few AWD vehicles they had on the lot. We kept in touch and I watched the inventory on the website. A couple weeks later I returned with a trusted family member to help me assess the car I liked the most from prior test driving, and met Deepak who was professional, calm, knowledgeable, and above and beyond when I decided to go through with the purchase after a second test drive. I did not feel rushed, and was given options like a true business deal. My trusted mechanic inspected the car and it had no major issues (as advertised and as shown with integrity by Deepak (beyond the carfax)), and I had feelings of gratitude, relief, and security. ZERO STARS. Purchasing a car from Ryan and Deepak at Planet Cars has been the worst experience imaginable. This was our son's first car purchase which makes it even worse.The car had an uncleared code when we drove it, which Ryan assured us was from the service it had received. Just as we were five miles into our drive home, the car threw a different systems code. Deepak assured us that it was a traction sensor, and a bunch of other nonsense. Even though I'd called Audi Napa asking to bring the car in, they told us there weren't any technicians, but somehow Deepak managed to find one to clear the code. Well, the issue wasn't that just 'hadn't been cleared' it found that they were indeed indicative of a major mechanical issue that they were obviously aware of and trying to hide. Deepak uses his former experience at Audi Napa as an umbrella of respectability which isn't deserved to assure us the car had checked out clean. It appears there is something shady between him and their service department. Instead, when the car was driven back to southern California it threw a series of codes which an INDEPENDENT Audi dealership identified as a major mechanical issue with the car and stated that's why the codes were being thrown. Their quote to repair this was $7000. My son was able to find an independent repair for HALF that, as if he wanted to spend almost $4000 more after purchasing a $25K car. Just know, their so-called 'warranty' is worthless - it's only if the car essentially fails. And after our experience we highly doubt they would honor that. Each of our attempts to have this addressed were met with excuses and here's the best one - Deepak texted my son "Well you know you didn't buy a new car." Wow, really? Because everyone wants to purchase a car with significant mechanical issues. Good thing to know if you're considering purchasing from them - just know that you're not purchasing a new car and that if something is wrong with the car joke's on you - because in spite of their website wording '100% customer service' and 'we want to build lifelong customer relationships' their first response is NOT MY PROBLEM. So many other details that confirm our lack of trust in them, and we will be filing complaints with the Bureau of Automotive Repair and BBB. I'm sure Deepak will reply that we're unreasonable, yea, right. If you do buy from them, cross your fingers you aren't buying a lemon, because if that's what they sell you, you're on your own $$$ Sharing this review so that others don't experience the same thing we did. read more
