HORRIBLE!!! First of all, I purchased a brand new 2026 Mazda 3 sedan preferred in February 2026. My sales guy Sean was excellent. On March 13, 2026 (1 month later) my "engine malfunction light came on stating "Drive at moderate speeds...have the vehicle inspected by your dealer". Really??? I am a commuter and it's 6am! Pure disappointment and buyer's remorse. I was instructed to take car into nearest dealer.I had to find a dealer close to my job who informed me I needed a new thermostat--really????? Next, my fuel gauge was not communicating with the app. According to my gas gauge, I commuted 60 miles and it did not move. I took car back again. I tried to trade car in but but I would've taken an $8000 loss so I'm stuck with a car I hate and do not trust. Hey Sam! This was my 3rd visit to Team Mazda for its 2nd scheduled service of the 2025 CX 5. Why? Well, first trip there you were short on service staff and service technicians. I was sent home and had to reschedule. Fortunately, this reservation went without a hitch. That said, I had a 7:30AM appointment. One service staff member on that morning. Getting the car in for its 14,000-mile service took a half hour or so and I was the first one there. The car was in the service bay for more than 3 hours. Now, let's talk about the service itself: I was presented with 3 quote options. All over $1000 and the last of the three nearly $2000. Really? For a car with only 14,000 miles? Prior to owning this CX 5 I owned my dream car--a Jaguar F-Type. Never, in all the years of owning the Jag did a scheduled maintenance rise above $300. I found the Mazda experience shocking and completely uncalled for. Oil change. OK. Tire rotation. OK. Milking Mazda customers is unforgivable. In fact, 3-hours or so later when the car was supposedly ready, the service rep says, "You need a cabin air filter. Would you like us to do that for you. It's $89." Eighty-nine dollars to reach into the glove box and replace a $7 filter? Toyota: free scheduled maintenance the first two years. Same for VW. And other makes. The CX 5 is a nice vehicle. Not one that stirs my passion, but serves its purpose. After the projected maintenance costs of what's considered to be one of the more reliable vehicles, I'll pass. My wife and I decided to get a new Mazda CX50 to replace our 10 year old CX5. I was out and about with my dog and as I was driving by Team Mazda I decided to actually check out a CX50. I went in the showroom, leaving Bob, the dog in the truck. It was your normal Vallejo morning, overcast and cold, so Bob was ok. I was met, half heartedly by Angel, the salesman. He appeared less than thrilled that I was there. I assumed he was profiling me, old guy, dirty sweatshirt =Loser. Still he talked to me. I said I wanted to look at a CX50 and that I would have to talk to my wife before we actually would buy. We got into one. It was much nicer than our CX5. He didn't tell me one thing about the car. No info, no attempt to sell it. I asked for a test ride and he agreed but then I remembered Bob. I told Angel I was going to run Bob home. I live 5 minutes away. He gave me his card and told me to text him when I was coming back for the test ride and he'd have a car all ready to go. Ok? I drove home and texted him and was back ten minutes after I left. He hadn't pulled a car out. He got a car and we went for a ride. Again he told me nothing about the car without me asking a question. When we got back, I told him we'd probably want a metallic charcoal or blue with red interior. He showed me a black one with red interior. I told him, we'd be putting half down but it would take a week to get it out of our 401K. He asked how much we could put for a deposit. I said $5000. But I'd have to talk to my wife. He went ahead and write up a tentative contract based on $5,000. down. He had done that fake run and check with manager, a couple of times.He asked what it would take to buy that day. I again told him, I'd have to talk to my wife. He then offered to knock $2000. off if I bought that day, which completely turned me off, since Mazda doesn't offer $2000. discounts. We waited the week to get our down payment, out of our 401K and went to Dublin Mazda. They showed us all the features of the CX50. Took us for a ride and talked up the car and we bought a blue one with red interior. We do take our Mazdas to Team Mazda for service, as they have an excellent service department but I would never buy from them. read more

I was already a recovery... I was sold a brand new car with 20 miles that came with an undisclosed scratch. I was told I would get 3 complimentary oil change, a car detail, and my scratch fixed. My car was returned with the original scratch fixed on the plastic... but a new scratch this time on the paint. The outside car detail was essentially just a pressure wash... and the inside of the car was returned unchanged. The floor mats completely dirty still .. not at all what I expected from a "full detail" . After I get a text from my sales rep asking to fix my review... when she brought the car back without even doing the slightest due diligence. In her position after messing up the initial sale and disclosure of the cars current condition. I would have done everything to make things right, instead when I asked her why no one was returning my calls. She replies, "check the website you can message are service team to make a appointment" are you kidding me if you did your job and disclosed the true condition of the car we wouldn't be here but now you show 0 effort... then you return my car undetailed (she drove it to my residence). So now your showing you don't only have no initiative to make your clients happy, have no integrity in your honesty to work, but your just plain f'in lazy, and now you return my car dirty with a new scratch. And ask for a fixed review? For my time wasted, and this massive hassle. I will be leaving negative reviews on all major platforms. because it is absolutely deserved. I will not be recommending anyone to buy their cars from you. Not only that I'm a business owner and already own 3 cars. I have a concern over how my leased Mazda was handled for service. I brought it in, under warranty, to fix the fender liner inside the wheel-well that became detached while driving the vehicle. I was told this was not covered under warranty because the bracket that was holding the fender liner fell off while driving and I could not give it to them to process a warranty claim. I don't understand why I have to pay out of pocket (over $300) for this item that should be covered under warranty since it has to be a factory issue. I purchased a car from them about a month ago. It was a pretty quick buying process. But I do feel a bit shammed. When I was discussing the deal with a salesman I told them I didn't want an extended warranty, and they seemed fine with it. Then they pulled me to sign the papers and had added a whole different warranty which I was told was a "better deal." But it isn't. They really do not care about their customers after the purchase. I love my car but I do not recommend this dealership. Just as shady as the rest of them. I recieved a notice from DMV that there is an issue with my registration. Turns out that the workers at mazda vallejo sold us a car that was supposed to goto enterprise. We bought the car in Feb and got the notice this July. The workers at Vallejo Mazda were informed about this issue in April. We tried contacting them and we were told that we'd get a call back from the manager. It's been a week now and no call. Still waiting on a resolution. Probably the worst experience I've had walking into a car dealership. I've bought multiple cars in the past and sell cars for a living for the past 7 years. Being on this end of it is not something I enjoy. I walked into the showroom and there was not a soul in site so I called in and spoke with I'm not sure his name he didn't tell me (middle eastern man) told him I was outside and what I wanted, asked for him to look in his computer cause I didn't see it on the lot and grab the key. He came out, yelled at me across the lot, still did not introduce himself and proceeded to tell me to pick one. I said well I told you what I wanted I didn't see it can you check your system. He then grabbed a key for a turbo which I did not want and told him that, he looked at me with a HORRIBLE look (mind you he did not have a mask on this entire time) when he was inside copying my license he told me that this new car was the complete wrong car for me, I said huh? He said yes here's the perfect car, a CPO, do you know what that is? I said yeah but I want new I have a current 2019 I just want to upgrade. He said well this certified used will be perfect for you, I said absolutely not I know what I want thanks. Mind you I had my company jacket on this whole time with my hair covering it. When I proceeded to move my hair and he saw I was in the car business he was rude and said ok go ahead see you when you're back. I got back from my drive and he was still so rude, asked me what I do at my store I said sales and he proceeded to tell me no I don't sell cars. Oh is it because I'm a woman? I can't sell cars? Ok. I have 700 plus credit not that that matters and intended to buy a car from this store, my local dealer, the next day and this man treated me so poorly like I was some young dumb woman that he was going to try to take advantage of and treat like sh*t. This is the reason car sales people have a bad reputation. I wouldn't do business with these people if they were the last dealer around. Unprofessional and UNSAFE, with no mask on. Revising my review from "dishonest" to "good intentions." I recently purchased a 2017 Mazda 3 from Team Mazda. After lots of research, the deal they were offering for this car was definitely far better than any other Mazda dealership in the Bay Area. I've now had the car a little more than a week and absolutely love it. My original review here was "dishonest" because the salesman I worked with made many promises that were never kept. The straw that broke my back in this process happened just after the sale, when I noticed an issue with the car, and the salesman said "I'll take care of that" but then I later discovered the repair would not be covered and the cost would be coming out of my pocket. My life certainly hasn't been easy during COVID, I need this car to be able to work, and this additional hit financially was going to cause me lots of problems. I'm revising this review to "good intentions" due to the followup conversations I've had with Team Mazda since writing that review. What I learned is that the salesman I was working with did sincerely want to follow through on his word, but was not checking with the other departments for approval first. I know this salesman went out of his way to make the sale with me (even drove the car to me - an hour away from the dealership - for the test drive), and I can honestly say I really enjoyed our conversation on the ride back to the dealership to officially make the sale. It was really unfortunate that he didn't check with other departments before making me promises he couldn't keep because that tarnished my overall experience. After talking through the miscommunication, Team Mazda is covering the cost for the repairs. I honestly was not expecting them to follow through on it, but I'm impressed with how their leadership reached out to make things right. They do sincerely want their customers to feel good about their experience, and that was evident in the followup they had with me. All in all, I am very happy with my car, and I know I got a great deal. I think things could have been handled better initially, but we're all human and in the end Team Mazda did step up and made me feel much better about the whole experience. read more

I have no idea what happened to this place over the years but if you have to have your car serviced, run and don't look back. With everything going on with Covid-19, you would think they would car about the customers have. Not only won't they return my phone calls but they won't even live up to their promises. If I could give them a 0, I would. My car had that I bought from them had an engine oil leak and my dash notification lights were staying on. I took it to them to have them repair the issues and have them services as well since I did buy it from them many years ago and they always use to service it. They contacted me after they found the issues and informed me of the cost to repair and I had no issue with it since they didn't find anything else wrong with the vehicle, so they claimed. My wife picked up my car a week later and they claimed that the car would run like new, she paid and drove away. When I got home, she informed me that the car dash lights had gone back on and that the car wasn't driving correctly. I was confused, we just spent $2,400 fixing it. I called over and over again and no one would return my messages or even contact me. After a week of this, I finally drove up there to speak to them in person because I couldn't use my car. The car was not operating. They tried to convince me that my car didn't work now because the flushing of the transmission caused my car not to operate anymore. What? Having you change and flush the transmission fluids caused the vehicle not to operate? I paid for services and for you to check my car before you performed any service to it. You didn't find anything wrong with my transmission and there was nothing wrong with it when I brought it in. Yet you want me to believe doing a transmission fluid change and flush is the reason why my car is no longer operational? Come on. But if that wasn't insult enough, Shyanne Marie West (ID: 689075) told me they were sorry for making me spend so much to repair the car. That they would credit me the $2,400 towards the purchase of another vehicle, she lied. I drove there to find out that she wasn't even there for our scheduled appointment and no one at the dealership knew what I was talking about. I texted her and called her for the last three weeks and not one response from her. I even texted her asking if she was going to honor what she said and she has not even had the courtesy to respond with a no. I'm not only out $2,400 but I'm out a car and during these times as an essential worker, it's sad that a dealership would take advantage of a customer. First of all, I have to say that owning a used 2006 Mazda 3 for 1.5 years has been hell. I bought this car at 103K miles and 10 years old. You do not have time for the whole story, I assure you, but these cars are terrible! I learned that mechanics have a VERY difficult time working with these cars which is why I took it in for a diagnostic to Mazda in Vallejo. I booked an appointment. Drove 20 miles the night before to leave the car and left it an entire day for a GOOD diagnostic. I arranged a ride to and from work. It was a hassle. When I went to pick it up and I asked for the diagnostic they LITERALLY gave me the result of a code reading that I can pull in less than 2 minutes. I was livid. I didn't want to take it out on the service rep because she is not the tech but I was pissed. I picked up the car and paid. I couldn't just let it go. Having been to hell and back with this car this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I wrote a bad review here, not sure if it's related, but someone called me asking me how things went. I let her know that I was not satisfied. I talked to about 4 people, with the fourth being the service manager. The second person I talked to, had the nerve to try to sell me another car. Really, this car has been junk and you think I want another one??? He tried to buy my car and told me they would auction it. A car that I have owned 1.5 years and have had nothing but problems with would be passed on to the next victim. Exactly what I expect from a shady dealer. I called back, asking for a manager and left a message. After talking to 4 people. My conversation with the service manager was something like this "The diagnostic I received was a joke. Your tech pretty much gave me a code reading I can get in under 2 minutes." He said "I can't give you a refund because he test drove your car for an hour." What?? Who test drives cars for an hour to diagnose? Initially he didn't want to agree to a refund but I was a pit bull. He tried to tell me "Oh, its because your car has 100K miles, oh it's because it's used, oh it's because it's older." I said "I've had Hondas that are 150K and more than 15 years old!!!!" It became pretty clear that he had not taken the time to even talk to his tech about how he diagnosed my car. He didn't even know what my car's diagnostic was. Once that became clear I was LIVID and told him "How is it that you don't even know that (my car's diagnostic)!? HOW??!!" He said he would go get more information. He went and talked to his tech. This poor man after nearly getting cussed out by me because I was so mad, I'm sure didn't want to talk to me anymore. He replied to an email I had sent days earlier. He pretty much told me what I already knew from my code reader and You Tube that in order to test the part(s) they told me were faulty, they would have to drain the transmission fluid and get in there. He said "That would cost you $800 dollars so we stopped at $165." So, yes, they really did want to charge me $165 for a 2 minute code reading that I know is wrong from struggling with this car for a year. He gave me a refund. Hell would have turned loose if he did not. In conclusion, stay AWAY from Mazdas. They are mechanical garbage and the average mechanic has a difficult time working with them. This dealer totally fits the stereotype of dealers. They are full of BS and just want your money. You pay for customer service, lots and lots of phone calls and complimentary drinks. I needed a competent technician not a bunch of BS. I've owned used cars for 20 years. Mostly Hondas, and this Mazda just can't measure up. I have dealt directly with techs and asked follow-up questions. This customer service crap is just a bunch of noise. read more

There is no scheme, just which car do you want and what options / services do you want to add. When I reached out to Team Mazda about a car (2022 Mazda 3 hatchback 2.5 turbo premium plus) they had on their website, I sent to Nathan Merrill. Within 10 minutes of initial contact, Nathan had sent me a page with the car I wanted, the out the door cost, price break down, and several financing scenarios. We scheduled to meet the next day to test drive / finalize details. The day of the purchase was conducted with a Jonathan Shirar due to Nathan having a personal emergency (the handoff was seamless). All the details of the deal that I had discussed with Nathan had been properly transmitted to Jonathan. When I arrived, the car was ready for me to have a look / drive. When I signed the documents, the numbers were in line with what Nathan had initially quoted. Additional items like extended warranty / service plans were offered but not forced onto me!
