Overall: We discovered this escape room through Facebook and heard good things about it! There a mix of different types of puzzles which makes it a cool escape room to try out! This location is closed now which is super unfortunate. Experience: When entering the location, there is a seating area with a bunch of puzzles you can play with while you wait. This is also where you can fill out your waiver for the escape room. Make sure you come early to allow for time to park and fill out the waivers. After waiting a few minutes, our game master came out to give us the typical rundown (don't use force, how to get hints, etc). The escape room we did was the Black Cat. The puzzles in the room were a mix of your typical lock puzzles, but there were some unique puzzles as well with cool effects (don't want to say too much to spoil). We completed this room with 15 minutes to spare as a group of 5. I would say this is a medium level type room. Puzzles were straightforward and made sense. The set design was super cool and fit the theming of the puzzle. Price: Rooms were $42 per person but there's deals often so we got 50% off per person for our room. Parking: Located in an strip mall with with some parking. There are multiple businesses in the plaza and parking may be difficult if it's crowded. read more

I first found Planet Escape Room when I moved to Long Beach in 2019, and our first room was "Wise Guys." We completed it with just the two of us and loved the theming, mix of physical and cognitive puzzles, flow of the room, cool effects, and technology! Then the pandemic hit, and no escape rooms were done by me and my peoples. Once things opened up again, I grabbed my buddies to try "CTRL + ALT + Reality". This was not our favourite room. We found the tech buggy, and it was frustrating to have correct solutions without being able to move forward. Even though we escaped, we left looking for other rooms to brighten our spirits this day. Fortunately, I was able to return for a special event to work "The Vault," and this room was great fun! We enjoyed the puzzles and the non-linear design. The room had a good flow with perfectly-working tech, and the '80s & '90s references were amazing! The owner even worked on the soundtrack for "The Vault," and it fit the theme perfectly. Nice work, Jason! My most recent experience here was for a friend's birthday in "Game of Swords." What a fun experience! We opted for a surprise customization, and the group was delighted to find it in the midst of the stress of trying to escape the room! The room had mixed tech with good theming overall. Our gamemaster said it was the easiest room in the building, but we barely made it out with 5 seconds or so! Planet Escape Room has amazing customer service, and if you come for any special occasion, ask about customization opportunities. They really do make for a unique experience! It has a small parking lot shared with other establishments. The front has reflective tint that you cant see in but can see out. When you walk in, you have a couch and a bunch of chairs to sit as you wait. They also provided some brain teasing games on a small coffee table for you to play as you wait. If you sign in through yelp or Google, you get a free drink. They have a small fridge containing some assortment of drinks. From sodas, to lipton lemon iced tea, to Capri suns. A wide arrangement to cater to their patrons. There was a board with pictures of the game masters and contained a little tidbit of what theyre like. Our game masters were Ruben and Shai. Im not gonna lie, my carpool group were amazed at how much energy Shai had at the end of the night. We did two escape rooms: the black cat and the wiseguys. We wanted to do a different one, but something wasn't working. Our group of 5 finished the black cat, but we were told they gave us 5 extra minutes to complete the room without us evening knowing the time got added. We also didnt ask for clues, we just shouted out loud should we ask, and then we found the answer, lol. That room was amazing because of how beautiful the set was once you've entered the last room! If you love cats, this is a cute tribute. This room is a little tricky if you only have two people. It does require a group to complete this for the sake of time. The wiseguys room was beautifully staged and the clues stumped us at one point. We did ask for a clue, a clue that we knew lol, but it just confirmed our guess. That room had shadows that casted over somethings, but it was fun. This room had an area where it was a small space, not meant for a large group. Some of us stepped out to give some space. There were two small problems, the volume of the tv/radio and the small fonts on the wall. The bathroom is gender neutral and was large enough for a wheel chair. They had two bathrooms, but one said employees only so I didnt use that one. We had an amazing time and loved it. Torrance is a bit far for us to drive on a weekday, but if we do go back on a weekend, we would love to try the other rooms. Had a blast! read more

The kids and I had a blast here. We tried Black Cat which was a medium-hard level. The puzzles were indeed pretty hard, but luckily, we got unlimited hints and a full 60+ minutes to solve. We found it hilarious that we all had to strike a pose in unison to request a hint. I'd have to say the mini rooms were designed very nicely like they went all out, especially the last one which looks like we were inside of a pyramid. The whole game was well-organized, and our host (sorry, I forgot her name) was professional, friendly, and energetic. Ooo, we also appreciate their weekday and birthday discounts! We tried six escape rooms in the LA area in about a week and this turned out to be one of our favorites!! The whole thing from start to finish was so much fun. We've done over 50 escape rooms and one of the things I don't like is dark rooms. It makes it hard to see the locks or even clues sometimes. This room was bright enough to see everything and most things were electronic as opposed to combination locks, which I love! The clues were tough but fun and all of them made sense. Our game master was Thea who was super awesome! She asked us a few questions before we started to get an idea of our preferences which made our experience even better. When we were done, she answered my son's questions about how some of the things worked because he likes to understand the 'how' of everything. She was very sweet and made sure we really enjoyed the whole experience. FYI, your game masters accept tips, so if they helped make it a fun time then maybe send them a little something. I believe most of them accept some type of electronic payment like Venmo. We can't wait to go back and try the other rooms! read more

Although I myself did not participate in the escape rooms I had my son's 13th birthday party here and I can't thank Jason (the owner) and his staff enough for such a pleasant seamless experience. I chose to rent the whole venue out because we were 30+ guest. I'm so happy I did because I had little ones running around and they had ample room and lots of fun with the games in the waiting area and playing dress up with the props. I reserved 2 escape rooms while we were there and the 2 groups had a ball. I have to say it turned out to be the same price if not cheaper than Dave & Busters which was my 2nd option. So glad I chose Planet escape room. Jason was very communicative during the planning process and was always quick to answer any questions. The staff were great and very friendly. We catered our food and were even allowed to have adult beverages for the parents as we waited. I highly recommend having a party here or at least just going for the experience. My only complaint is the parking isn't the best.. in a strip mall with a small lot but other than that it was a great experience overall. read more

The staff is so sweet here. Checked this place out for the first time. It was a bit far for us but it was easy to find and parking was easy too. Shi was our host and we loved her energy - it was infectious. She also offered refreshments from their fridge. It is a pretty big facility. Their black walls seemed to stretch for days. We came to do Game of Swords and Black Cat. Each room had a wow factor upon entering -- especially after exiting the labyrinth of black walls. The set design for both rooms were pretty nice -- especially the iron throne! I was so happy to not see office ceilings in the Game of Swords. All puzzles made sense. There were a few times we would solve a puzzle and hear something open but couldn't figure out where. Black Cat is my favorite at Planet Escape! Great production quality! I love the Egyptian theme and the props were a lot of fun! Wish there was more!! Just got home from Planet Escape Room and immediately wanted to write this review haha. I booked my friends and I "The Vault" room for 7:30 tonight and Shai was our game master and also saw on their employee board she's the manager! She was awesome upon arrival and even offered us water or any of the beverages they had in the cooler. The room was really cool and the game itself was just enough challenging and fun! My friends and I beat the game with only 35 seconds to spare! We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it. Already planning another trip to try the other rooms haha. 10/10 would recommend read more

I was amazed at how they were able to break us up into smaller groups, all working on the same initiative for some friendly competition. From the introduction to the conclusion, the whole experience was very engaging. The degree of puzzling got increasingly harder, but there was a nice mix of research, investigation, sleuthing, and discovery. The device each team was full of surprises as we raced towards the goal. For some teams, there were hints that were given so even though there were winners, everyone finished around the same time. There was wine for refreshments and a good time was had by all. Went to a couple other escape rooms before, but this place actually got me excited for escape rooms! While other experiences have been mediocre, I really enjoyed this place! You enter the facility and are greeted warmly by staff and the owner, Jason. We made reservations for the "Wise Guys" room with a total of four people. Staff were really welcoming and explained all the rules and expectations to us. Jason answered all our questions before getting started. Then we were off to our escape room! We were really impressed with the ambience and details of the room. The vibe was on point (I don't want to go into details to ruin anyone's experience, so you'll have to check it out yourselves to know what I mean)! There were some clues that were obvious and some that made you think. We appreciated that the level of difficulty varied throughout the whole experience. Kept things interesting! The game master was kind enough to give USEFUL hints when they can tell we were stumped! It was fun to work together to escape. We escaped but 5 minutes over the limit haha! My friends and I really enjoyed this room and want to come back for another really soon! We even heard there is a new room being built too, so that'll be cool to check out. This is a great activity to do with family, friends, or coworkers. Appropriate for kids as well. I believe the owner even mentioned there is a party room also, in case we ever want to have an event at their spot in the future. Been here a few times, and the staff is always so friendly! It's also a bonus that you get a free drink when you check in on Yelp. The escape rooms themselves are very fun. I've tried a few different ones at this location and the difficulty/intensity for them range on scale from easy to difficult. They do give unlimited hints though, which is very helpful. One thing to note is that if with a larger group, some of the rooms can be a little more snug, so just keep that in mind! However it doesn't take away from the fun. Highly recommend! read more

I say that for context because that way you know we have done a decent amount and have seen our fair share of solid rooms. We did the Ctrl Alt room here and Juan was our instructor. He was super enthusiastic and you could tel he genuinely enjoyed his job. Also, this room... wow. I tried out one of the escape rooms here. Unfortunately, I don't like it when a site lies about the max occupancy. The max occupancy was 10 people but we came in with 6 people... And only 5 people could fit in the second room. Thus, one person was in the first room doing absolutely nothing. It didn't help that two of the puzzles were already solved when we were doing the room which meant that it wasn't properly reset. One of the puzzles needs serious revision. It was about putting shapes in box. We got it so that we fit the shapes perfectly but it didn't solve anything. You're supposed to put the shapes in a way that only one word shows up. Thus, it needs to be reworked so there's only one possible solution to line up the shapes. Finally, we were told to do some awkward, modified Nazi salute to ask for clues which I found extremely lame. read more

John hosted our triple Play at Planet Escape Room in Lomita. Worth the drive. Here is what we did. 1st - Wise Guys turned into a back in time into mobster times as we made out way to the end. The start was like a typical escape room until quite a few wow moments happened as were not expecting them. Theming was wells done as I did feel it had the right amount of passion put into it. Great game! 2nd - Game of Swords .... So I just started Game of Thrones. I am in season 1. Love the series so far and this room was freakin amazing. I wanted to take lots of pictures, sadly kept secret. Absolutely loved this room, So much to do, time well spent on the build and I will definitely recommend!!! 3rd - Ctrl Alt Reality gave me a feeling of deja Vu as it was packed full of puzzles and reminding me of a Epic movie trilogy you have to play to find out what it is. Lots of Tech, lots of challenges. Glad I was with a large group as I couldn't have done it with a smaller group. 70 minute game a must play!!! John you knocked it outta the park!
