We love this game. Our 2nd time in this location we were doing this. It was a blast for the whole family. Will try all the themes at some point.

Bobby and Jenny were amazing. We went to the location at Del Amo mall and did Cabin 13. It was such a blast. My first time doing an escape room and I think I am hooked! Bobby went into such good details and his hints to us were on point and so helpful. I will definitely be taking my family and friends back there!!

I hosted my son's 17th birthday party here. The theme was a cowboy Western "Wanted Dead or Alive" legend of Billy the Kid. I pre-paid an advance fee to reserve and then. Paid the rest depending on the final count of attendees. Please note: the first part of the Escape room can get crowded, so most escape rooms have a limit on number of participants. Obviously no photos or videos are allowed, but I can tell m you that in was thoroughly and maybe more so than the party attendees just watching from the cameras up front. The Game Master Jade who had control from the front desk answered lots of questions. Collectively, the boys were able to figure out from the clues on how to escape in time. Definitely worth trying out if you want a thinking game and to get the kids out of the house if they are gamer types. Plenty of parking in the shopping mall lot. Located at Del Amo Mall at the Burlington Coat factory entrance.

Had an amazing time at Back in Time Escape Rooms! We visited for the first time and completed the Salem Witch Hunt room. The guy who was working there (forgot to get his name, sorry!) was super friendly and helpful. My niece and nephew were first timers and had a great time. Would definitely recommend it!

We escaped Cabin 13 with my awesome nieces and nephews!!! Niko made sure we had an awesome time, we will definitely be back again!!!!

Our 1st time in this location & our Game Master Niko made it an awesome experience for my nieces, nephews & me!!!! The attention to detail and intricate puzzles in the rooms were lots of fun, I highly recommend trying them!!!! We did cabin 13 and it was awesome! Honestly, a great room, Niko was great, thanks so much, it was a blast for the whole family.

I have an escape room addiction. I was happy to find one local and that is not deep in Los Angeles nor Hollywood. This location currently has 2 rooms: Wanted: Dead or Alive and Operation: Santa's List. This is located in Del Amo Mall, and is walking distance from Dave and Buster's. My group of four decided to do the Wanted: Dead or Alive, the western theme. The difficulty is listed as a medium, and we barely escaped! Our game master was really patient with us and we enjoyed the game a lot. I've done 50+ rooms and the quality in the room is there! My friends and I will continue to do more of your rooms.

    No hints, baby!

Back in Time does amazing escape rooms, but the Wanted room at Del Amo really takes the cake! We played with Game Master Luna and she was such a funny girl and was constantly making cute remarks as she watched my boyfriend and I work through the room together. Would definitely play again just to have her run a room for me again!!!

Normally, they would group us with strangers but since we were the only ones there at the time, they allowed us (a duo) to play in a single room. I appreciated the flexibility and friendly tour through the rooms! My friend and I played The Depths, and completed it with no hints and twenty-five seconds to spare! The room was clean and high-tech for proper immersion into the puzzle's plot. The puzzles were challenging and straight-forward, and I appreciated the lack of red herrings and the ability to take your phone around. I would recommend taking pictures of important clues so you don't have to run from room-to-room to cross-reference! Using the flashlight on my phone was also helpful in the dimmer rooms of the puzzle, as well. Overall, awesome experience with the escape room and will be back again whenever we are in the area. The only thing I would suggest that they do different is pause the timer for the "story videos" that they play here and there. The clips are entertaining but they are fairly yappy and waste precious seconds of the allotted hour...

We love how escape rooms now accommodate duos, and especially appreciate that rooms are now private, and we are able to be silly and competitive and immature with the people who matter. I mean, imagine being stuck on a schooner or deserted island with people you don't know - it would be a streaming series! Oh, wait ... Well, Back in Time is one of our favourite companies when it comes to escape rooms that are immersive and faithful to theme and story, but we're a little embarrassed to say that we were excited to try Blackbeard's Treasure because of a streamed show, excellent, though it be. Yes, we could have chosen to do this particular escape room because of the book(s), the movie, the theme park or the dinner adventure, but, no, it was Black Sails, just taken off that streaming service, that piqued our interest! The mall where we usually play Back in Time is under renovation, so we played our Friday afternoon game at their temporary space in a small strip mall not far away and just as easy to get to. Parking was good right outside at 3:30pm on Friday, which was their first game of day, and we arrived just about the same time as Harrison, our very enthusiastic game host, who had just escaped (haha) from the same traffic jam as we had. We were shown into the waiting room, and although this was not a permanent location, the lobby looked exactly as it did in the mall, and it was nice that the clean no-frills restroom was located at end of hallway inside the business instead of outside in the mall. Our entry into the game was heralded by a preview video which complemented what we knew about Blackbeard, especially fresh off Black Sails - but game (unlike TV series) was definitely family-friendly. The room was spacious for our duo, and would fit four in a group comfortably. On the whole, the room was a little dark, but the décor was in theme and music was ambient. Blackbeard's Treasure was a linear game, where most of the puzzles were one & done, even though there were some red herrings (of course, pirates ...). We categorise it as a 3G or third generation room, meaning it comprised a lot of use of magnets, but also a lot of nice old locks. Happily, there were no glitches at all, and everything worked to our success at 52:02. Our very favourite part of the game was being fired on by cannons, and although we wish we could understand the parrot - Captain Flint shore was purty! - we had no least favourite puzzles at all. Harrison was fantastic because she made sure we could read the clues on the in-room timer and clue screen when it was clear the bird was speaking in not an escape roomer's language! Everything made sense, and, once in the room, we didn't miss the mall at all. In fact, we took advantage of the promotion that allowed us to take photos in the room with props, and our gamemaster did a terrific job with both their camera (and thank you for getting the photo to us immediately!) and ours. It was a little more expensive, but worth it for the memories. This review has been posted on Google and Yelp.

This location is closed now which is super unfortunate. Experience: When entering the location, there is a seating area with a bunch of puzzles you can play with while you wait. This is also where you can fill out your waiver for the escape room. Make sure you come early to allow for time to park and fill out the waivers. After waiting a few minutes, our game master came out to give us the typical rundown (don't use force, how to get hints, etc). The escape room we did was the Black Cat. The puzzles in the room were a mix of your typical lock puzzles, but there were some unique puzzles as well with cool effects (don't want to say too much to spoil). We completed this room with 15 minutes to spare as a group of 5. I would say this is a medium level type room. Puzzles were straightforward and made sense. The set design was super cool and fit the theming of the puzzle. Price: Rooms were $42 per person but there's deals often so we got 50% off per person for our room. We completed it with just the two of us and loved the theming, mix of physical and cognitive puzzles, flow of the room, cool effects, and technology! Then the pandemic hit, and no escape rooms were done by me and my peoples. Once things opened up again, I grabbed my buddies to try "CTRL + ALT + Reality". This was not our favourite room. We found the tech buggy, and it was frustrating to have correct solutions without being able to move forward. Even though we escaped, we left looking for other rooms to brighten our spirits this day. Fortunately, I was able to return for a special event to work "The Vault," and this room was great fun! We enjoyed the puzzles and the non-linear design. The room had a good flow with perfectly-working tech, and the '80s & '90s references were amazing! The owner even worked on the soundtrack for "The Vault," and it fit the theme perfectly. Nice work, Jason! My most recent experience here was for a friend's birthday in "Game of Swords." What a fun experience! We opted for a surprise customization, and the group was delighted to find it in the midst of the stress of trying to escape the room! The room had mixed tech with good theming overall. Our gamemaster said it was the easiest room in the building, but we barely made it out with 5 seconds or so! Planet Escape Room has amazing customer service, and if you come for any special occasion, ask about customization opportunities. They really do make for a unique experience! You want excellent gamemasters, too? Here, you'll find them! How about a private booking experience? Done deal! And don't forget to check in on Yelp for a free drink!

And who in Southern California is so ready for no more rain?! Well, we had no idea what awaited us when we made our booking online for Quest Room's Polar Station. For those new to the world of escape rooms, Quest Room is probably the gold standard by which all other rooms are measured, so much so we've done almost - ALMOST - all their rooms, as long as they accommodated two people, because we mostly play as a duo. So we were a little surprised that there was actually a location we had not visited - at South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach - and more than thrilled that all their rooms welcome 2 players or more. The mall was closed on Christmas Day, so we were grateful to receive not just an email (went straight to the spam folder) but also a text from Quest Room letting us know this in advance, and also where to park. Quest Room was having some electrical problems, so the lobby was dimmer than usual, but we were oblivious to the difference, so excited were we to get started. We had watched (and I had read the book) The Terror on Netflix, and we were quite ready for our own Antarctic adventure. Ours was the first game of the day, and Jason introduced himself as our game host at 11am sharp. We did not need the restrooms this visit but it was offered along with a verbal run through of the game rules. In fewer words than the intriguing writeup on their web site, we "woke up" cold, sore and alive after our research plane crashed in snowy desolation in an abandoned station that we need to get working to call for help. This was like something out of "Yellowjackets" and elicited a similar "ooh!" when we saw the room. The décor was perfect, even with low light, but in theme, and the props were authentic with just the right amount of creep factor. There was no climbing or crawling required, and we wouldn't be concerned with playing the room with the whole family. Polar Station is what we consider a G3 (third generation room with quite a bit of whizzbang and FX) - with a couple of G1 locks, so even though we were advised ahead of time that some locks needed some dedicated (and delicate!) handling, it slowed us to our record-keeping time of ... 44:59 for the 45-minute room! We both agreed that our favourite task was opening the bathroom door and doing the wrapping needed - since it's Christmas! - and the rescue was epic. We felt most challenged with not remembering that we are in South Pole, not North, so crucial elements were topsy-turvy, but all the clues and puzzles were pretty logical and true to theme. Jason did a super job pacing us, and with our photos - which we received even before we got to our car - and we so appreciate his working on Christmas Day. Once again, even though Quest Room is maybe on the higher end as far as cost, they deserve every one of those five stars, both for the room and for our game host. Thank you for letting us have snow for Christmas! We can't wait to visit again in the new year! This review is triplicated on Yelp, Google and TripAdvisor.

When you arrive, you wait outside because the main lobby is actually part of one of the rooms. There is some outdoor furniture and a bench to sit on out front. They monitor the outdoor cameras and will come out and greet you when it is time for your experience. We did "The Queen" room which has a theme of saving lost souls aboard the Queen Mary ship. It is not a scary room at all, it is just dimly lit. It has a split start with one person in the room and one outside which is always an interesting way to begin. The décor is great and after having done 30+ rooms, it is always nice when a place has puzzle types that you have never encountered before which was the case here. The room is mostly non-linear and hints are given via walkie talkie. Our game master Christina was great before, during, and after our experience. She gave us a nudge several times when we asked for help and we were able to escape with five minutes left. I commented on the booking that it was our anniversary and she even gave us a choice of a few gifts afterwards, which was very kind and thoughtful. For only two people, their rooms are on the expensive side at $59 per person. It drops to $38.50 per person with three, and $35 per person with four. We had a good time and will grab a few friends and try "The Lab" room in the future.
