Who's bright idea to have all the Black Card Members extras blocked off on a Sunday from 8 am till ?, not to mention both Ladies and Men's rooms closed. Then told to go to 99 cent store or Safeway to use their bathrooms! The company has no problem notifying you, email, phone, text for anything else but no word on this closure. Very poor planning! You are open 24 hours and that is the best you could have done! read more

Horrible Gym! I brought a gym bag in and these guys told me I couldn't have it because it was a tripping hazard, but yet there are women with purses working out. I come here as my buddies guest and they recognize me but won't allow me to use the bathroom until my buddy gets here. If this place wanted me to get a membership they failed miserably. They have no real weights here and if you breathe too hard while lifting weights they freak out. Thanks for being flexible. You definitely will never gain me as a customer. I'll pay an extra 10 bucks a month to go to LA Fitness rather than this snowflake gym...and guess what, I'm takin my buddy with me! So I guess you lost a member also! read more

I love coming here and being able to work out and be long, lol, they keep the gym clean and always willing to help; love how their is a lot of choice and freedom in how you can workout. Great for doing what workout ypu want when you want, yes can be full and then very few people, just got to learn the flow. read more

This review has nothing to do with the people that work there. They are all great as reflected by my earlier review. My complaint is about management above them not seeming to care that 50 % of the stalls in the men's restroom have been 'temporarily' out of order for several weeks. I wonder how long the people up the chain of command would wait for us to rectify an issue with the automatic monthly deduction from our bank accounts. I wonder how long it would take for them to have the same issue resolved if it was them having to wait 20+ minutes to use a bathroom stall on those occasions that a urinal is not sufficient for the situation. read more

I like this place. When they say it is a judgment free zone, they mean it. There is plenty of equipment. The only thing that bothered me was seeing Hank. He wasn't even working out. He was taking a nap on a treadmill. I recommend Planet Fitness, but I do not recommend Hank. read more

I've been coming to this gym just about a year now. This location is pretty good. Always clean, staff is friendly....but there does seem to be a lot of issues with treadmills lately. Maybe it's one of those "when one goes, they all go", kind of thing, as it does seem to have happened all at once. I did have a billing issue here that seemed to take a long time (and even some leg work on my part) to get resolved. But I think that's just the Plant Fitness culture. Had a membership at a different location a few years ago and it was a nightmare getting it cancelled. But all in all, I enjoy coming here. There is a good mix of sizes, shapes, and ages, so no one should feel intimidated. read more

I really do enjoy coming to this gym. I try and come during the brunch time when there's not so many people. Had good machines and weights. Didn't have to wait for weights and I enjoy that people are there to workout and leave. They have a lot of treadmills and ellipticals as well. The people that's always checking us in always have a smile on their face and is really friendly. I love having the black card because I can enjoy the hydromassage and the massage chairs as well. I have been going to this gym for several months now, when I first started I didn't know much about working out or any of the equipment, Samantha and Jordan has helped me learn about the red light therapy room, the equipment that they have and how it all works, these girls are always helpful with any questions I ask, for example when I asked Samantha about her opinion on eating healthy and what she does, her advice has helped me out a lot, I listened to her and started to change the way I eat on a daily basis and have seen a lot of improvement, also every time Samantha or Jordan work they always welcome me in, as well as other people, very friendly girls and are very professional with their job, overall it's the best gym I have ever been to, highly recommend going here! read more

Luv this gym! Employees are really nice. It's never really crowded. I've come between 4-7 on weekdays and it's not crazy busy like LA Fitness which is good. Lots of cardio machines to choose from. The area is not the best ;-P lots of sketchy looking ppl outside and Senior citizens but hey that's AJ for yah ;-) but for $10 a month it's worth it ;-) read more

Have been going here since they opened last year. When you walk in it is very open and inviting. The staff have always greeted me right way and are very friendly. I go for the cardio, because there is a TON of it and I never have to wait for a machine. I have kids and a busy schedule so it is hard to find time to work out. I use their 30 minute circuit because it works every muscle and you get cardio in between and you are done in 30 minutes! The tanning is nice also. I was paying $50 a month just to tan!! Here it is only $20 and you get the gym and I can bring a friend and go to the other planet fitness locations. This works well for me because I travel a lot for work. There are 3 hydromassage beds that are AMAZING after a work out. I tell all my friends and family to join because it is such a great deal and it is so clean! I love Planet Fitness! read more

This is a good gym. I have the regular $9.99 a month plan so I cannot attest to their massage or tanning stuff. Everything is new and clean and I have never had any issues with the equipment. It is a mostly older crowd so it is a very non-threatening quite environment. The only things I do not like about the gym is it's location (but what do you expect in Apache Junction) and their stretch area is on the small side. They have a bunch of free weights, balls, and mats. Overall though, I would recommend it. read more

I pass by multiple gyms just to go to this location!!! The staff is amazing, helpful, welcoming and funny. For $20 a month you get access to all gym features. It's a judgement free facility which is great because you see people of all ages and walks of life getting their fit on!!! This location is clean and parking lot is large. It's a basic gym that has all the equipment you need & it's clean. I'm typically short on time so I have to stick to the 30 minute workout or ab area. The staff are friendly & they offer classes but I didn't sign up because the instructor looked like he was 12 which made me question his knowledge. The hydrobed is amazing when I do have time & I usually use the tanning beds before a trip. The only issue I have are the other patrons. Occasionally you'll save someone who doesn't clean their butt sweat off the equipment or comes into the "specialty" areas & interrupt what others are doing (it's systematic). Otherwise it fits the bill for the price. read more

Planet Fitness is great. Easy to join easy to cancel. No hidden charges or gimmicks. I have signed up twice now. Had it about a year started going to a dance fitness studio and decided to cancel PF since I wasn't using it as much. Then when I needed a change of pace from the dance studio I came back to Planet Fitness on a Groupon and have maintained my membership another year visiting several times a week. The value is great in my opinion although I do love classes which I have to go to outside fitness studios for. The one in AJ is always clean. Employees are helpful and attentive. I use the tanning and massage beds occasionally It's a nice perk but I probably should downgrade since I hardly use the black membership amenities. I highly recommend Planet Fitness and the AJ location does a great job! read more

Literally the only reason I come here is because it's closest to my house and doesn't break the bank. But, it's frustrating. Every time I come here lately there are people begging for money or trying to sell you stuff in the parking lot. There has also been a guy appears homeless that comes in, sits on a bench forever just using his phones. Literally makes a table out of dumbbells and sets his phones on top of them. I've seen multiple customers complain about him, including myself, and staff always says that they'll "check on him". I could understand if this was a one time thing; but it's been the last 3 or 4 times I've been there, and is always at busy times. read more

This gym is fantastic. My boyfriend and I both use the faculties and showers daily and they are always clean and well kept. The workers are nice and helpful.ive mever attended a pizza or bagel day because I workout at midnight a lot of times but it sounds fun. read more

This place is inexpensive, good equipment if you don't mind cleaning it down first before you use it. Because staff does not go through and clean it down at all. They don't pay attention to make sure other people wipe down stuff. I have told the head manager about this. That didn't help. I usually go between 7-10 pm. Boy the staff runs wild at night. they do stand around and don't do anything. They talk to friends that do work there that come in to work out and hang out up at the desk. All the employees from what I have seen are very unprofessional.... So you can take your chance here and maybe catch something cause CORPORATE could care less. If it was my business, I would make sure my clients could call me at a drop of a dime.. I dare any client of Planet Fitness try and call Corporate Office of planet fitness Good luck. You cant..... Shows how much they care.. Went in to tan one night after working out. watching a guy and girl just hangout checking people in. Talking to another girl that works there for almost an hour. other girl wasn't on the clock...... So I go in to Tanning bed and it wasn't clean. YUK I mean YUK!!!!!! When I came out and said something to the girl at counter and told her. Then I made a joke saying well if the staff wasn't so busy having to do other things you would have probably had time to check them... Stupid Blond and I quote ( I know right) we are so busy. My husband and I are winter visitors in AZ and joined Planet Fitness in Apache Junction last year. I use it more than my husband simply because he bounces back and forth to AK for than I do. We were from the start impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. This year I met with a personal trainer who helped me develop an exercise routine to help me meet my goals. This morning I was in the 30 minute circuit when I noticed one of the staff cleaning the equipment in there. Having been a clean freak myself, I had already noticed how clean things were but decided I needed to comment on it to the staff. I had used another smaller gym in the past and it was so dirty I found myself cleaning the equipment. Thank you PF for a wonderful gym. read more

Spoke with the General Manager (Kevin) about canceling my membership because I haven't been to the club since I was injured back in May of last year, but was told you either have to come in to cancel or send a certified letter. Also, the membership fee for this month won't be waived because I had to have canceled a week ago. I was told that after canceling in person I have a month to change my mind without any fees occurring, but I will definitely not be coming back! read more

Well, it started out great, butwent to the crapper as soon as I had an injury. February 2014, my wife and I purchased black card memberships and it was wonderful. We loved the equipment, the staff, the 24/7 entrance, all of it! We used the amenities regular ad well. Again, it was great. Well, around July 2014, I staryed developing back pain and ultimately found that I have degenerative disc disease in my spine, as well as a few other back related issues. I was told to stop hotting the gym IMMEDIATELY. Of course, I continued paying my membership in hopes that I could return. Unfortunately, I could not. I called and asked if there was anything I could do to pull my black card memberships down to standard, since I wouldn't be using them at all. Thought $20/month for two unused memberships would be a lesser blow than $40/month. I should've known that customer service only goes so far. I spoke with the manager and got the whole, "I'll look into it and call you back" bit. Of course, no call back. Called later that week. Same gig. I called corporate. Same dog and pony show. My medical bills were and sti are piling up, so every dollar counts. I still can't believe that they refused to assist in ANY way, shape or form. If I recover enough to get back to the gym, I will be taki g my business elsewhere, and that sucks, because I enjoyed PF quite a bit. Long story short, contracts are contracts and customer care is a thing of the past. read more

I joined for a short time while visiting family in Apache junction. Good, clean gym with friendly staff. Can't beat the price. Lots of cardio machines. No problem getting on even at busy times. It would be nice to have some heavier dumb bells, they max out at 60lbs. read more

No place to do bench, squats, or deadlifts thats not locked into a smith machine. If you don't care about these things its probably fine but I feel like to call your establishment a gym or a fitness center then having free weights not restricted by a smith machine is a must have. read more

We love this gym and the staff WAS responsive. There have been numerous problems with plumbing and no hot water on several occasions. I think that problem is solved, at least as of the last shower. They could use better cleaning in the showers and restrooms. I recently had a question for the manager regarding people putting on massive amounts of perfume and smelly stuff on their bodies. I just asked if they ever "suggest" that people tone it down in the locker rooms and showers and the manager looked at me like I was crazy, while the trainer started laughing at me. I was embarrased and felt bad. My husband said that it was a common allergy problem and a lot of businesses restrict the use of perfumes. Not to mention that the entire school district of Mesa Arizona does not allow it because so many people are allergic. She said she had never heard of such a thing. That is not a very quality care answer, as anyone in customer service knows. I said, "I will be the first to let you know, then the second one will maybe get some other response". We are paid until June, so plan to stay and hope to have a hot shower most of the time. read more

This is a great gym! It's always clean, the staff are friendly. There is enough equipment to never have to wait for one to become available. My favorite part of the gym is the Trainer Jason Nicholls. I still can't believe the high level of training he gives, is part of the membership. Most places you have to pay a lot extra for it. Hopefully Management pays him well, he brings in a lot of continuing customers. This gentleman knows his Fitness. He can help design a program suited for your level or physical concerns, ex: bad back or knee. Sessions are held during varied hours of the day or evening to help you focus on a specific body part you might need assistance with, or just learn how to do them correctly for yourself. He loves to help people achieve better fitness and remembers your name! Never worry again about how a machine is supposed to be used or what to do to make your valuable time worth going there.
