Okay so after attending this gym a while, I have realized that it could really use some additions to make it a fantastic gym. But before I talk about that, I'll mention what they are doing great. Cleanliness wise, it has got it down. Super clean area in and out of the locker room. They encourage cleaning of equipment after usage by leaving wipes by the trash cans placed throughout the establishment. Check in process is super easy. They give you a bar code you can attach to a key chain to check in or you can get their app and your bar code is accessible there as well. I use either or; both are simple. I don't prefer one over the other. HOWEVER... I really wish they had more mats to use for stretching and core workouts because you cannot fit more than 3 people in the area they have now and if you come at a busy time, you are going to be waiting an awfully long time to use it. Also, if some punching bags were added for arm exercises, that would be awesome. Additionally, I know they offer a few classes on how to train certain areas of the body, however; I think they would benefit from adding classes like yoga, kickboxing, aerobic exercise, etc. even if it came at an additional cost to the membership. Of course, they would need to add more space to the location to do so, but I think it would be worth it. Okay, and this one additional suggestion for an addition would just make me a lifetime member: a sauna. If a sauna were added, I would be here everyday of the week, no question. Don't get me wrong, I love the massage chairs, but a sauna would put the icing on the cake. read more

You should avoid a membership at this place! I've been a member for a year. I was moving across state and went to my home gym to cancel my membership. They talked me into keeping the membership and freezing it so when I moved I would have it if I needed it. So I agreed that way if there was a planet fitness near my new home I could go. I find out there's not one so I do find a planet fitness go to cancel my membership and it has been a month-long headache. First they couldn't help me cuz my account was frozen then I unfreeze it. I come up here again to cancel it and they're telling me that I have to get it transferred. Then I have to come back in a few hours to cancel it. Mind you I'm not close to this location. Had I known it was going to be this big of a headache I would have just canceled it to begin with. Just avoid yourself the whole issue and go to a different gym all together!! read more

I"m a Black card member that travels a lot for work. I've been in PFs all over the USA and a few in Canada. I've visited this one on East Pioneer Pkwy in Arlington a few times. I use the treadmills and have always found them well maintained and in good operational condition. **** The problem at this location is the locker room cleanliness. They put on a show that its be cleaned but reality is different. The locker rooms always smell fresh but thats all cosmetic and in fact not so clean. I've witnessed this twice now by two different employees. They just move dirty water around on floors and don't truly clean. Process being used is, fill bucket with water, get mop wet in it and move water around on floor. - Never seen the mop get wringed out or water removed from floor. - I took shower there today, the shower appeared clean but when I got in front of locker to put clothes on things were different. My feet were dirty with brownish filth after stepping on floor still wet from mopping less that 3 minutes earlier. There needs to be some remedial training on proper procedures for "swabbing the deck" or mopping. Small sections should be done at a time with the mop wring occurring often to remove the dirt. The purpose of the mop isn't to just get floor wet but to use that wet mop to remove the filth. read more

I have had a membership at Planet Fitness for about a year and I have enjoyed every minute. The gimmick - "Judgement free zone - is really true here. I HATE working out at places where some roided out idiot says "Hey, you are doing that wrong..." or where the staff is trying to be slick and soliciting to get you to pay them to be your personal trainer. Not here! They are very clear about that when you sign up. I have always felt comfortable here. Additionally, I have noticed that the women that go here seem to feel very comfortable too - no guys are ogling them like many other fitness clubs I have worked out in. They do offer classes - if you download the app you can sign up. They have different ones virtually all day. If you don't sign up for it, but happen to be there when it happens, they are very discreet. Overall, I highly recommend the app! You can attach it to your smartwatches and it has many great features. You can view videos on how to use the machines, you can track your progress or post to the community board for Planet Fitness Arlington. I generally go between 5 and 6 AM on Mon - Friday (before work) and about noon on Sat and Sundays. There are people there, but it's not packed. I have NEVER had to wait for a machine. The staff is great. They are always upbeat and very helpful, but they don't approach you unless you request help. Unlike other places they aren't swoll up gymheads. Relatable folks that will welcome you in. If you sign up and bring a guest make sure the guest brings ID, but if they forget the 1st time they still let them in. They sell headphones, shirts, bags, tanning stuff and towels up front. Super helpful if you forget something. Also, go for the black card membership - you can use it at any PF and it gets you access to tanning as well as water and chair massage benefits. The TV ads in the gym say "Go Fast or go slow - work at your own pace." At Planet Fitness you actually can, without the judgement. read more

I love this location. The members are nice and the staff is very helpful. The stay busy cleaning and always ask people to wear their masks. They trainer is very educational and is always at work and ready to go. I love this Classes. I am always dead the next day. read more

I've only been coming here a few weeks and very early in the morning. The place is clean, like spotless. The morning staff is very friendly. I like it mostly because they have plenty of cardio machines and I never have to wait for an elliptical. This could just be because of the time of day. I don't have a black card membership because my main focus is cardio and for $10 you can't beat it. Eventually I will try the free weight but so far so good. read more

I've got a black card membership in California I come here to try to get my friend to enjoy planet fitness as much as I do. First of all they couldn't even pull up my membership, secondly they said my friend couldn't go tanning, then the other dude said no it's a federal law. NO ITS NOT MOTHERFUCKERS, idk how you do shit here, but it's not a federal law because in Cali they let us do that shit there so don't speak on all of planet fitness behalf because it's just your location or maybe just Texas. In California if you're a black card vip membership, you're allowed unlimited guest, and your guest gets to enjoy all of the same amenities that you do. I have only been a member for a short time but have really enjoyed my membership. I like the 30 minute workout area, and the cardio area. Everything is clean and spotless and I've never had any problems with out of order equipment. I have not tried the tanning but I have tried both massage areas and like them both a lot. I am a "black" member and so I have taken my daughter as a guest which went very smoothly and is a great perk. I'm super happy with my membership so far. read more

Gym is great, love the variety of equipments, and not so crowded. Only thing that has already rubbed me the wrong way is, I signed my son up online then went in to finalize the application. I asked doesn't my son get a free shirt like it stated online, the staff Carlos was like I need to bring a bank statement or some paper with by banking info. Dude i just gave you my phone to verify my banking info along with the email, that should be enough. Oh, I also got charged twice for the signing up fee. This planet fitness location is my favorite for the fact that it is close to home and they have a lot of machines to use. Most of the time it's not super packed. The staff is friendly and are super helpful if you have any questions. Alexis was really helpful and answered all my questions when I had no idea. She seems to be the most hard worker there. This is a great location for workout! Staff are nice and everything is clean and in tip-top shape. It is a small gym but it is a personal preference of mine. The only complaint I have is the people that goes there. I don't care how lonely you are, but a gym is not a place for you to flirt with the receptionist. This thirsty dude held up a line of people trying to get checked in. He literally was talking non-stop to the receptionist for 30 min straight about cars or some random stuff while people are waiting to get checked in. Props to the receptionist for putting up with him. With a disregard for manners like that, he will never find anyone. read more

I was a member for a year until my contract ended. When I cancelled, the dude at the front desk tried to change my mind. When he asked why I was cancelling, I stated it didn't not have enough equipment such as dumbbells, only to have him reply "how much can you even lift?" You cannot take your own equipment. They told me not to use certain equipment twice when there cleared was no one around. Horrible customer service. Would not recommend. read more
