TIP: The physical entrance is not on Grant. "The " Entrance and parking is on Macintosh, along side of the building. Behind the Dollar Store. Parking is near the rear loading Dock for The Dollar Store that is actually on Grant. I came in today as a drop in. A Very fair rate. Nice clean gym and my first time in a PF. The Team color is Purple and Yellow. So be ready. The gym is more focused on tread mills and stair steppers and cable machines. Free Weights is a small area at the end of a very large gym. The locker room and shower area is immaculate. As is the gym, really. The free weights will be enough if your dumbbells plan to stop at 75 lbs. There are 4 smith machines and Plenty of benches. No shrug machine or French curl or standing calf raise. No worries, be creative. I met Dawn on the staff desk , she was so nice. Mixed population today, mostly over 50. They are open 24 hours , I plan to be back at 0700 before we leave town. Only in Auburn for a couple nights. Time to stop the travel and relax. Update : Came back this am for a work out. Start by saying that all staff members are friendly, and quite knowledgeable. Very clean ! My only issue has been the long time it takes in getting machine repaired and back up and running. Which is totally out of the control of employees. Doubt anything can get done by writing a complaint. Haven't found anything on the Planet Fitness site (headquarters) to directly express the broken machine issues. May need to call them. Enjoy my daily workouts. Just very frustrating having the machines, I prefer to use, are down for such a long time. Here's hoping things will improve ! read more

Anyone feeling self-conscious will feel welcome at their gyms, as it has always seemed to me that patrons aren't very interested in who else is at the gym or their fitness levels. The club's two membership levels are $10 and $21.99 per month: the $10 per month level includes access to cardio and strength equipment, unlimited group fitness instruction and pizza and bagels once a month; the $21.99 per month ("Black Card") level allows members to bring one guest per day at no charge, access to all Planet Fitness locations, and access to extra amenities, such as tanning booths and massage chairs. This location is in a plaza off the main drag in the city of Auburn. It is one of the smaller locations in the area, and even though it is right in the middle of the city, it tends to not be too busy. Plenty of machines, never had a problem finding an empty machine to use or any issues with out of service equipment. The locker rooms and bathrooms here are some of the nicer, cleaner ones in the area. There's plenty of parking in the lot. Employees are the same here as all the other locations...nice enough checking you in, but they're mostly leaving people to their workouts unless asked. I joined the Auburn, NY planet fitness gym in Fall 2019 because I could transfer my membership to their Eustis, Florida gym where I spend winters. The few times I went to the Auburn gym I found the trainer there to be the absolute worst trainer ever!!! He did not listen to me and wasted 30 minutes of my time using the machines at the lowest minimum weight! His classes are unchallenging and he does not incorporate any free weights - such as dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, TRX, battle ropes, etc. into his classes! The three trainers, I had the pleasure of working with at their classes at the Eustis, planet fitness were excellent! Their classes were challenging and varied using different equipment. Auburn you NEED TO HIRE A NEW, COMPETENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, CERTIFIED TRAINER who will run challenging classes with variation of exercises that will accommodate and challenge all levels of exercise for all class member participants! The reason I pay for a gym membership is to attend classes run by a professional who runs a challenging classes incorporating a variety of exercises and equipment working all muscle groups! This has NOT been my experience with attending classes at your gym. You also Need to train your customer service staff better so they know and are able to explain in detail the rules and regulations regarding membership transfers! There are time requirements that need to be met before transferring membership to another gym that was NOT told to me by your staff. I was fortunate that the staff in Eustis, Florida was Knowledgeable, friendly, understanding, and help me with the transition of my membership from New York State to Florida. I have not experienced other planet fitness gyms except for the two that I specifically mentioned in this review because I will not go to a gym that I have to travel miles to. I also don't do a great deal of traveling to use my membership guest privileges at any of the planet fitness gyms across the USA. In my lifetime I have been a member of several different gyms - some franchises and others independently owned and the Auburn, New York Planet Fitness is the worst I have experienced thus far in my life! It is a shame as it could be top notch with better trained and informed front desk people and you DEFINITELY NEED A BETTER TRAINER PROVIDE THE ADVERTISED SERVICES OFFERED TO YOUR MEMBERSHIP! Great atmosphere. Comfortably motivating. Very clean dressing rooms and plenty of room.

The Auburn Planet Fitness TVs only play liberal stations (CNN, MSNBC). I like watch unbiased stations when I workout.

I just started going to planet fitness but I really like the location compared to the other I visit. It is other with many machines. I don't hear much from the staff but I don't at my other location either. It is bright inside and clean. I like the locker rooms, they have large and private bathrooms and many lockers, and it's clean in there. I haven't used the tanning or massage at this location. This gym even has a few different machines that my other location does not. read more

I have been going to planet fitness since February 2019 I start tanning there I got a nice tan for February but March and April nothing stayed the same from February to April I asked them when they change their bulbs they said every 700 hours it is now May 1 and they still haven't change their bulbs The last time they change them was February 1 it is May 1 read more

Wifi hasn't worked in over a year. I've spoken directly to management about and they could care less. Cars get broken into in the parking lot all the time. This place has become trash in the last year or two. read more

I've belonged to Auburn Planet Fitness for about 3 years now, having belonged to other gyms most of my adult life. I've been very impressed with the facility as well as the employees and trainers. The facility is well ventilated, bright, and a perfect environment for a great workout. I look forward to my early morning trips to the gym as well as talking to people I've met over the years. I think Planet Fitness is fantastic, and would recommend it to anyone! read more

I was told I'd only be paying $21.99 and no more than that but I was charged $39 and a week later charged $54. I called and they told me it was wrong information but they cant do anything but give me 2 free months, but I can cancel it for another $54. I'd highly reccomend only if you want PF to f*ucking rob you then tell you it's not their fault. read more

Not happy that this club doesn't open on weekends like it's supposed to . This has been a problem for a long time and nothing seems to work even new management heck even new ownership I'm considering canceling my membership and I hope a lot of other members consider the same. read more
