I like this gym. I just have a few disappointments. First is the cleanliness. The floors are not being swept regularly. See the pics of the huge dust bunnies. The second is that they don't have the express workout. They have an area but no timer and people use it as a regular exercise area. So even if you set your own timer, people are hoarding the equipment. Otherwise, it's not bad. They have a good selection of equipment. Plenty of cardio machines and they don't blast the music. I can actually hear my own music without turning up the volume so high. read more

They need better people at the front desk. It's supposed to be a pleasant and friendly service staff. Most of the people are friendly, or just adept at doing the minimum, but there is one odd person who has become an annoyance. I would almost be more okay with scanning my own bar code at the door, or at the counter. It would be less of a hassle. It's kind of just annoying to have to greet anyone at dawn and to be clear, some of the staff are unpleasant, without the proper mentality. It's a fairly simple and straight forward scenario. It's called being pleasant. Offering to scan people's bar codes is kind of as simple as it gets. Probably someone needs to give them a quick explanation about how to be helpful. The customers overall experience is what matters. Customer service in general, but especially in this role, at these gyms, should be selfless, easygoing, nonchalant, non judgemental, almost as if you were there as an assistant to the customer. The store and the bathrooms, including the showers should be kept in pristine condition, and I would much rather see service staff busy, cleaning, spraying, wiping down machines, and equipment, rather than dotting and or dozzing off around customers. Look a little busy and preoccupied with making an exceptional experience for the customer. Don't look lazy, or self concerned, and certainly do not presume yourself in contest with any customer, for any reason, whatsoever, ever. You should be making yourself busy. Beyond that you should be out of the way and helpful to the customer. read more

Been coming here since day 1. My favorite Planet Fitness. I started out going as guest of my coworkers at the Tempe location. Once this one was ready, I joined Black Card right away. I have a LA Fitness membership for classes but I truly prefer PF for all other workouts. During Covid-19, I froze my LA Fitness membership but kept PF going. Since Covid-19, I haven't seen the usual staff members and that makes me sad. Hope all is well Daniel and Sydney. This gym is clean and not crowded since Pandemic. I go at unpopular times since I am still cautious. Everyone has on mask, cleaning stations have been amplified. Lockers reduced to 25% capacity and clear indicators if locker had been sanitized. Black Card is the biggest asset, surprised it is not more costly. Love the Total Body Machine and deep tissue massage. If you tan, this is a good option also. Tried this club since my "home" club on McClintock and Southern in Tempe has fallen into apathy and disrepair. This club had a group of three men working out and wore T-Shirts reading, "Pushing Kilos" and "Cartel Life". As at all clubs, entire staff stays safely close to the front desk. Do not go here if you want to be left alone. People will come up to you and try asking you your gender in the WOMENS locker room as if you don't know your own gender. All because you don't wear pink or wear a dress. It's rude and disgusting and so disrespectful. Not a friendly gym. read more

Always a clean facility and staff is pleasant even at 3am. I prefer early morning workouts for personal reasons but it's also not as busy compared to working out after work. Please be courteous and clean your equipment after your done using it- I have seen a few who don't wipe it down after use. So I recommend wiping down the equipment before and after your workout. read more

Best planet fitness out there, if you think all of them are the same... they are, for the most part, but the size of this one and it's outstanding staff makes this Planet Fitness the BEST! I been to many of the valley's planet fitness locations, thanks to the affordable Black Card and this place is fantastic. So if you're thinking about joining but aren't sure, I suggest you pull the trigger and do it. To be honest, the colors of purple and yellow are very off-putting, and the rules are incredibly pretentious, but on the bright side I will say getting a workout in and then a MASSAGE at 3 or 4 in the morning when you have insomnia kind of makes up for it! read more

This is my regular gym and it's bugging me that they've had a sign up that 1 of the 3 stairmasters is temporarily broken but they're working their quickest to get it fixed. Woo-hoo, the first to review! :) It's a great gym. It's clean, tons of cardio equipment, lots of weight machines, and a really nice stretch area. Not to mention, there are massage chairs, hydro-massage tables, and tanning beds. If you sign up for the $20 membership as opposed to the $10, the massages and tanning come packaged in the deal. If you're a big fitness buff, and have the "need to feed" your bulging muscles, I would consider a different gym. Planet Fitness is all about beginners to moderate gym goers, just looking to stay healthy and generally fit. The free weight area is relatively small, as compared to other gyms I've gone to, and there are circuit areas that help people by literally alerting you to move to the next station, after a minute or so. It's like interval training. I've never personally tried it but it looks really nice and I would imagine its helpful for people who struggle with constructing workout plans. I'm mainly a cardio gal myself, so I mostly just hop on the treadmill, and add an occasional weight machine here and there. Therefore, the gym is really not a necessity for me unless it's blistering cold outside and I can't run out there! I will say though that their stretching area is something to brag about. I don't routinely stretch... I know, bad! But if you happen to stumble into this [quite large] room, 100% devoted to stretching, guaranteed, you're going to want to at least do some quad stretches or something! read more

Great gym of course and unlike other Planet Fitness, this one has special lockers for black card holders. They don't have a car key holder, so I had to use one of those lockers. Not all Planet Fitness Gyms are the same! I know 'cause this location only has one fly machine. They also have the ab cruncher machine that I use all the time that other PF don't have. This is a nice and large facility but my husband and I joke about the morning staff as the 'party crew'. Every morning that we go there is a group of 4 or more staff members sitting on the counters, their faces in their cell phones, many times laughing out loudly that you can hear them at every corner of the store (so loud that we are even wearing earphones). One day two of the gals were even chasing one another. They visit with each other even while refilling the spray bottles (it doesn't take two people to fill a bottle). The only cleaning we have noticed is with the evening staff with the guy wiping down every machine and vacuuming the floor. A little bit more professionalism with the staff would look nice for this store. read more

I joined for $1 and signed up for the black card or upgraded service. Went once. Nice gym. Had a family emergency and was out of state for months. In the mean time I ended up with a balance of $200 owed. I received an email which I will attach - with a special offer. Thought to myself GREAT I can pay $20, utilize balance forgiveness and get back to working out!!! So I stop in to set this up and the girl at the desk has no clue what I'm talking about, never seen the email before and has to call a mgr for approval. After about 30 mins she says I just need to pay $20, balance forgiven, gave me a new card and I'm on my way. Today I went in to work out and a different counter girl scans my card and says loudly OH MA'AM it says you have a balance of $180! SERIOUSLY?! I am SO EMBARASSED! Don't offer balance forgiveness and your employees aren't aware of the email that went out nor do they know how to set it up so in the end although I should be squared away with a new account, IM NOT. Come back Monday to speak with the manager so I say and if I want to work out Saturday and Sunday? Oh you'll get stopped by one of us each time you come in because your account is flagged. To say the least I'm livid ! This is extremely unprofessional and my account should've been cleared when I paid the $20! After I posted my review Here i got this dumb response apologizing that I have a balance and saying to contact the manager. DO YOU EVEN READ THE REVIEWS?! Signed up here and came here for a few months before switching to one closer. Super clean and lots of space. The staff was all nice and welcoming. In general I love PF for the wide variety of equipment and options and especially for the Red Light Therapy bed and the hydro massage! Outstanding value. In general, every location I've been to, and this location In particular, has people who don't wipe down their equipment after use, and some people have a chronic problem of using the equipment in the circuit area when not doing the circuit when that same equipment is out on the floor. read more

Great gym!! First of all... they kept the dim lighting unlike the Arizona Avenue location so thank you thank you! Very clean... more weight lifting equipment and the locker room is super nice. A big lounge area for black card members. Tanning is great.. they have an option between lay down or stand up. Friendly staff and very patriotic with the treadmill competition. Nice to see!! I think I found my home gym. I wish you'd get a hack squat machine and a couple other glute machines but I'll make it work. Bathrooms are clean and up to date! read more

This is always a clean gym. I prefer a clean gym with no idiots and no broken warn out equipment. I wish the dumbbells went above 65lbs, and I think they could fit a bar rack in there. They just don't want meatheads dropping weights and being assholes. Another note to all of you weight lifters: you look like an asshole when you have more than one set of weights. You have 2 hands! I don't give reviews but this was wow I've been in customer service 15+ yrs I signed up online and read my agreement and it stated first billing would be December 17th annual in January alright cool I wake up get ready to go workout and see a text my PF payment did not go through so I called and spoke to I believe Jordan and he said well when you signed up online it was right before our billing cycle so I advised what the agreement said he said yea I don't know why no compassion or hey let's see what we can do or sorry about the confusion so I asked to speak to a manager he said oh she's on vacation till next week so you can call or come in then WHAT very unprofessional said they didn't have anyone else I could speak to so I asked to cancel my membership and he did it so fast no trying to fix or provide customer service at all very annoyed I know have to find a different gym......no customer service at all!!! read more

I was happy with some of the planet fitness locations... And i heard they have good classes. But most of them just rubbed me the wrong the way. I had been so excited for their pool only to find that the pool and saunas were always under maintenance! Every time I asked about the pool or broken machines they'd always say it'd be fixed in a week minimum, but I was there for 3 months and it was never fixed. Locker rooms reeked of mildew too... When I cancelled, I had to pay a $58 cancellation fee and they -suddenly- had good customer service when they wanted me to stay... that sucked. One of the locations had this alarm that was supposed to go off when someone dropped weights, instead it just went off randomly and was very bothersome, I could hear it through my headphones when i was trying to focus. I expected more from Planet Fitness for that price, but I was proven wrong. I hope to find better elsewhere! read more

This is my favorite planet fitness. Visited quite a few locations throughout Arizona and the country over the past five years. The staff is friendly and helpful and this is probably one of the cleanest locations. It's not overpacked and they try and stay on top of the maintenance of the equipment for the most part. Unfortunately planet fitness corporate maintenance department is the worst department out of all the competitors gyms I've been to because it takes them months to actually send someone out to repair a piece of equipment which is unacceptable by any corporate standards but that has nothing to do with the staff reporting the failure which is frustrating to the staff and clients. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a good reasonably priced gym. read more

I used to be a member of Planet Fitness. I think if you had personal training or just enjoyed coming in to use the machines you would be successful. I on the other hand need classes and I get bored easily from doing the same thing. It's got great basic amenities for a fair price. Usually they run sales to start your membership. read more

I contacted the gym & they said Planet Fitness will keep all fee's paid & nothing is due back to me. I come to this location when I visit my AZ family. I can't miss my workouts! This location is way nicer than the one I go to which is also fairly new. This post is not to bash any of the gym goers, however, I find some of the rules silly. I go to LA Fitness after dropping my PF membership a few years ago. Today my friend asked me to come work out with him so I agreed. Now the gym itself is clean, not busy and didn't wait for equipment. However, upon entering the front desk guy said you can't have a gallon of water in here so you can leave it here or put it in your car. He was polite and doing his job. However, I don't get it. I'm hardly a muscle head or a "lunk". I can't keep hydrated during my workout however I can eat a slice of pizza or bagels? Not sure the logic there? I'm all about treating yourself but pizza? Also you allow elevation masks but not a gallon of water. Oh, and when I cancelled my membership the front desk guy was like I don't blame you. Haha read more
